Resolving the performance issues so that the average player can get decent frames whilst not murdering their GPU should be top priority in my opinion, or EDO will be consigned to the garbage bin on sites like steam. And deservedly so.
I totally agree.
730+ fixes so far and it still runs like a dog with broken legs.
What's the point of 730+ fixes if so many players are not bothering to play due to such bad performance ?
I've basically only played for a couple of hours in the last 3 weeks, each time after an update to see if it's actually got any better. It hasn't. The next time I fire up EDO will be after the next update on the 1st of July - if the game still borders on unplayable in settlements then I might as well uninstall because by then they will have fixed probably a 1000 bugs - in this full release ( that we all know is a Beta ) but because they decided to focus on all the low hanging fruit and UI fixes instead of making the game actually playable they are going to lose more players then they will gain.
Seriously, who in their right mind would buy EDO in it's current state?, given all the negative reviews and justified criticism?
Unless you really like playing by yourself, exploring, and just taking nice screenshots and some pretty videos of sunsets or sunrises on thin atmospheric planets. Just avoid any settlements, avoid any on-foot combat and don't bother wasting any time doing the point-n-click exobiology.
Currently the ONLY selling point of Odyssey is the nice screenshots and videos of some choice tenuous atmospheric planets - that's it - nothing else in the entire release is worth a damn or what most players actually wanted or expected from Odyssey.
( unless you are one of the lucky one whose hardware somehow manages to cope or you are just happy to lower your settings and resolution until it's playable and ugly. )
