What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Had a bit of a milestone today when my franchise conservation credits reached 1 million cc. I've never gotten that high before because I have a bad habit of binging on new animals as soon as I have enough leaves to get them, rather than saving up.

I think the expanded trade center is largely to thank, more than any self-control on my part. I've been able to keep a lot more animals on the market and haven't had to release as many to the wild solely because of space constraints.

Of course, it's entirely possible that I'll be back here next week (or tomorrow!) saying that I've blown them all and am completely broke again. But it was really neat to hit that record even momentarily.
Wow, most I've had is 150,000. 1 million, you can get pretty much anything

That sure is a lot of cc.. I have only like 10k.. I guess I build way to much and sometimes forget to actually play the game.
Its really nice that we have more room now. I also keept having to "choose" and then sell some, that I actually wanted to keep before that.

Today I have finished a lot of smaller things in my new African themed Zoo (mostly North African styled)
So far my Exhibit house is done, I also did skins for the staff buildings and then I finished a habiatat for my Aldabra giant Tortoise.. not my best habitat, but fits fine.
If people are interested I can post a few selected screenshots of some of it

I'd love to see it. I get a lot of inspiration from what others post

I build a white rhino habitat - and totally underestimated their size requirements (in Golding I play with all welfare requirement on at the moment. That might change in the future, I have not decided yet).

So for now, there is only room for a male in the habitat. I am currently waiting for one with decent size genes. I might do another habitat for rhinos in the future and use the old one for some kind of antilope or something like that.

Alright. Let me just take a few screenshots.
The buildings mostly done and so is the first habitat, the secound picutre is not complete yet and maybe abit to plain and simple.. but its just so time consuming.

Very nice. Like a lush oasis. Pretty cool.

Well, while getting ready to add the Nile monitors into Boogaloo Zoo (check out my thread in the Creations section. The thread title is Build-It Zoo), I was messing with repositioning my HQ I found out I can place it in the middle of the ocean😆

Rofl.. I will be sure to check that out and thank you for the comment, its nice to hear some positive remarks on my more "mediocre" work

Personally I think you have improved from what I see in the video and what I see now. :D But that might very well be my personal preference, as I don't particuarly enjoy top-down habitats.

I guess it also depends on the themes. I really loved the Asian theme and played a lot around with that. The same goes for the South American one. Then you have some, that are not as "interesting" due to personal bias.
That being said, I do think my new entrance and the exhibit house I showed here, has become awesome.

The vast majority of my stuff, never gets a video.. even when they are better than those in the video. I reckon its because many expects to see video showcases of the habitats, so if I do upload, I sometimes do the video´s.. I personal like to be able to watch them as well, when I look at other people´s habitats

Something I do is I download PNGs from online then import them onto Canva; it works great. Also, to get those PZ animals for those conservation posters, I used a 2nd app that can erase the background and turn it into a PNG
I'll have to have a go at that. What app do you use to erase the backgrounds and convert to .png? Is it free to use?

I made this billboard but I don't like it. 😂

It looks like it's only available for use on my phone. I'll see if I can find something similar for my PC, as I prefer to work on my computer for these things. Thanks for the tip anyway!
I usually just use this website https://www.remove.bg/upload

Just upload or copy paste an image into the site and that is it. It is far from perfect, but as long as you go for pictures with a good contrast between the object and the background it does a descent job. When the image is ready I just copy paste it into the program I use for making signs (Canva) rather than saving them on my PC.

Okay, but here's my question - how do you get rid of the background in Canva? Because as an experiment I used an Indian elephant screenshot from the PZ wiki (a great shot, apparently uploaded by our own @FoxyDee so credit where credit is due), and the background was removed perfectly, but when I paste it into Canva it still has a black background;

Could it be that you saved it as a jpg?
I think it needs to be a png or dds to have a transparent Background. There are other Formats which allow for a transparent Background but I don't know which ones
