What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

The problem was, that I made this for the Fennec fox and had flowers around the planters, but guest keept complaining and being angry about not being able to see them.. (they are small after all) and the Camel´s can´t have to much of it, so if I put flowers there, they would go over the limit.. This is the reason, why I wanna redo my sections and such. I want to make stuff more dynamic.
then use a nullbarrier to split the habitat from the planters. If they can still reach the walls, use stones and pretty them up

The Panda Enclosure isn't completely finished yet but I couldn't resist any longer. They already got Offspring for the first Time (and like his Parents he has 3x 100%👍). I wish breeding Giant Pandas would be more realistic. Would be way more exciting if they would be a real Challenge. The Time every Year when a Panda can get pregnant is extremely short.
Does someone know if it is impossible for a Educator to throw Food on artificial Floor above Water or if it just needs to have a specific Height?

Besides the trash, it looks really awesome
The Jaguar habitat looks really great! You should upload that one on the workshop

I love your foliage and rock work, it looks really great and organic! Also theming the staffdoors that way is really clever. Right now most of the staff entries in my zoo just dwindle of to the side, trying to be subtle, but your approach seems way better. Might be trying that too in the future

I like the way you use rocks. I struggle with them, so yeah.

That guy with the red shirt (polka dots) looks like he's up to something

Thanks, everyone! I should note that this is in franchise so hiding the staff areas is important because of the negative areas. I like putting down rocks, it's kind of relaxing actually.

It is me and my africa stuff. I actually wanted to do more today, but im feeling sleepy and im unsure what to do when im finished so yeah here i go.
Last time i wonderd if i should enlarge the warthogs or add meerkats, in the end i did both,
The fencing is now mostly done and i only need to finish it for the meerkats before i start adding in more details inside of the enclosures, staring with the meerkats and moving up from there through the warthogs and atleast the panorama bits of the nyalas as well as the wild dogs.
After wards i will expand the panorama down below, probably with something like a bigger savanah exhibit, but idk. Maybe i even leave it be and dont expend the pathway much, building 2 or 3 last exhibits along the paths lower side to cap of that area. If i do that the only thing left to do besidesputting more detail into older stuff and revisiting stuff is filling the hole in the middle of my zoo and either capping of asia or expanding on it, but we will see.

The meerkat enclosure itself is build into the hillside, overlooking the warthogs at its peak, eventhoug thouse little buggers dont really move up their, eventhough they could and have the only enrichtment up their.

Inside of their shelter i also have put an "open" vivarium for scorpions, the ones ingame might not be from africa, but meerkats prey on them in the wild so i thought it would be cool to have them here, highlighting their predator prey dynamic, if i would ever rap my head around crafting custom signs and billboards i would add something about that here.

Wasnt much, but it was fun to build and if you have the time to post, why not? Hopefully the next time im up here will be with atleast one finished habitat and a more clear view about the future

Really cool idea with the panorama, I love such habitats. I know it's a WIP, so are you going to change the barriers of the habitats? Because you definetely need moats between the habitats. :D But the overall design already looks great.

By the way, I've coincidentally also created a panorama exhibit. I used wild dogs in the front and a Kalahari exhibit (gemsboks and springboks) in the back. The moat needs work though, it doesn't look good yet in my opinion.

thx first and foremost! And the barrier are the only thing im really happy with right now, so they will probbably stay. The habitats are all build into hillsides and i use the elevation so that the warthogs and dogs cant get up while thouse two are seperated by a suddle fence in the water and some woodsticks so that the warthogs dont jump into their habitat. The nyalas are also content on staying in their habitat, becaus eof the drops and the spikes plants trees and stuff i put between. From their perspective they would have to make a leap of faith to even get over the spikey stuff, but thouse ers also regulary climbed the old cheetah cave even though the game told me they cant so thats on them.

Today i did some work on my africa panorama and the old rule of thumb "have a cool fence and no one will notice that your habitat is empty" rule applies again.
I did barely any work inside of the habitats, but finished the linked fences atleast for now. Still have a side of the warthogs open where im thinking about either letting them expand or putting in some meercats, but hey maybe you guys have an opinion about that ;)

I think in thouse pictures its a bit better to see that thouse three animals cant really interveen with each other. Building that panorama was a lot of fun, so i can really just recommend

Did a wee bit over the last couple of days. I'm back at work for the first time in three months, so I've been pretty exhausted and unable to put the brain power into the game of late. I've mostly been expanding my Africa section, which has left my elephants a little lonely out on the other side of the zoo, but I have some ideas of what to do over there as well. Anyway, here's some pictures.

First of all, a small island for ring-tailed lemurs. I was tempted to make it bigger and do a mix with the red-ruffed as people do, but I might save the other lemurs for another part of the zoo. Since taking this screen I've actually added a metal fence over the top of the rocks around the moat.

This is the lemur backstage area. There's a small mesh area for separated animals (not part of the habitat, as usual just for show).

The following screens are of my first big savannah habitat. This one is for giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and ostriches. I was looking for 100% fertility ostriches to try and maximise the amount of chicks, but I couldn't find any, so my male is on contraceptives (IMO, not worth breeding them if you can't have a fun little gaggle together).

This is an access ramp for vehicles, since the whole habitat is lowered.

And these are some of the off-display pens for the smaller species. Just pretend that there's a separation within the big shelter for the giraffes.

I also built a little food and drink shop, but now my guests want ATMs so that's on the list. The savannah backstage is behind it, which isn't aesthetically ideal, but oh well, it is what it is.

And finally, I also added warthogs. I still need to do some work behind them.

As you can see, none of these are of my Jungle Cats area that I want to build, so I've still got clouded leopards and jaguars sitting in my trade centre.

Today i finished the meerkats and warthog habitats and ngl i like them. I didnt really do much for the warthogs, but i fealt like cluddering up their habitat would just not look that good, so i just added a bit more rocks, groundpaint and enritchment for them.
The meerkats on the other hand, oh boy oh lord damn, thouse are some thicc chonky boys.
I spend quite some time fiddeling to make them be able to exit their shelter, because a human sized door wasnt enough to let thouse chonkers set free.
Overall it was just a nice touchup and i allready started work on the wilddogs, even though the pictures were made before i did any of that.

And here i present you Mr Thalente the Thicc. Tripple T over here might have nothing to do with terrorists, but his hitbox sure is criminal. The problem piece was the one cutting into the doorway over 5 times his height, so my guess is that they have an upward extending hitbox or something, idk. All i know is hes a thicc boi

Weren't the Hitboxes normally supposed to be double the Size of the Animals? (even though for King Penguins it seems to be smaller). I think Meerkats should just be able to burrow to every Place inside the Enclosure with fitting Terrain

I am in abit of a struggle today. I like my buildings in my zoo, but hate my habitats (I did them abit to fast maybe) but even the one I used abit of time on is problematic, since its way to big on the viewing area and guest will either hate or love it... but often its the "its ok" reply.. I normally don´t get that, but rather only good reponses from habitats.. maybe I am missing something.

This is how the habitat look like (I actually had fennec foxes here first, but they were way to small, so went with the camels instead)

I also have a few other habitats.. I guess it should be easy enough to redesign them and make it all more organic. The buildings are done, so I have my theme right.

A little late I know, but I finally had time to actually look at all the other stuff and I also got a few suggestions in case you plan to redo some stuff.

I really like the concept of the habitat with the planters and rocks as part of the fence but they look a bit repetitive and unnatural. I'd suggest using many different rocks with different rotations, angles, colors and sizes to make it look more uneven and organic.

As for the planters I think you could sink them a bit more into the ground to give the guests a better view, maybe even add a small barrier to them incase you thinks it's too low then. And I don't know if you play in sandbox but if so you could turn the foliage needs off and add as much as you want. If not try to work with smaller bushes, rocks and only a few palm trees instead of the huge palm in the middle and all those around the lake, it'll give you the opportunity to cover more in green without it adding too much to the plant coverage, so you could put more stuff in the planters.

Oh and another thing that really helps make things look more organic, if that's what you wanna go for, is using rounded corners and curves instead of hard, square corners and grids.

Hope that helps in some way and I really like your buildings as well btw, looking forward to seeing more :D
