State of the Game

I've done far worse than kill you. I've denied you cockpit cats. And I wish to go on... denying you. I shall leave you as you left me, as you left the game. Marooned for all eternity, in the center of a dead game... grinding..... Ground alive.

Dave's been working out then....

OK, this gets annoying, and I haven't had anything like this since ... alpha?
It's the third time in a row when I try to leave some settlement.
As soon as I jumped to SC:

So I tried to outsmart the bug and fly away in "normal" space until game stops rendering the settlement and THEN jump to SC.

Guess what, after taking off and flying a few kms game crashed...
Is this the same settlement that you "accidentally" landed on some poor blokes head?!?

Vengeance!!! The Lord Braben moveth in mysterious ways....

Oh life, you like to make things harder then they have to be, don't you?!

This is the terrain I try to pass in my SRV to get out of "frequent crashes area" near settlement.
(it's low quality bc I hoped it will make game crash less there)

I certainly HOPE that when I get far enough game will stop to freak out and I will be able to leave this damned planet.
So far I managed to save the game twice, and 4 attempts to update my position by saving ended with crash.

Oui,
I was referring to another context though.

The amount of of "nutjob clubs" in social media sharing their "experiences" of being under surveillance or followed by some shady people because of their "revolutionary" ideas and theories they post online is... overwhelming (once you waste some time to visit those loony bins).

This is also a very interesting psychological(psychiatric?) topic - many people seem to have a very easy path to paranoia or even schizophrenia "inherited" in their brains.

All they need it a boring and or unsatisfying life and very common for humans need to be important that can easily lead to delusions of grandeur,
next step is paranoia and progressing delusions (brain is starting to "spice up" perception of reality to fulfil those needs),
what in some cases can end with the alternative reality suppressing/superseding the boring "common" reality.
this can happen to quite successful people as well - like John Nash - portrayed in the movie "a beautiful mind", starring Russell Crowe. Nash had some kind of paranoid hallucinatory schizophrenia which forced him into the delusion of a plot against him and he was actively "investigating" all the illusional evidence constructing a case, which never existed in the first place. A group of people can fall for this even quicker, because they provide each other with "evidence" enforcing the delusional tendency of their mind state. Even Nash said later, that the movie is not really what it was like, it is still a good presentation of what it could be like for a person suffering from paranoia or schizophrenia.

i have known a person suffering from this and it is really scary how distorted perception can get under these circumstances. In some cases they have to be kept apart from society because their faulty perception can lead to actions which endanger other people. But at the same time it is so hard nowadays to figure out, if someone is truely delusional or just a nutcase, who can still make reasonable decisions otherwise. John Nash was beside these schizophrenic periods in his life a remarkable mathematician and got the nobel prize for economics in the field of game theory ("Nash equilibrium").

RE: Ads

Having "grown up" in the US in the 70's and watching Saturday morning programming for years, I learned at an early age how to just not take in the ads (IE: ignore them). I won't say that I'm completely unaffected by all of them, but for the vast majority, I just naturally filter them out. And occasionally there's one that I'm actually interested in.

So, I don't mind the ads so much as I usually just use that time to think about something else, or the scene I last saw before the ad began, or I get up and get a snack, have a smoke, talk to my wife, etc...

Having said that, I do detest ads in the middle of whatever I'm watching and will sometimes go out of my way spending extra time to find a different ad free (or at least ad skippable) delivery method for the content in question. Or sometimes I just "change the channel", so to speak, or stop watching altogether and go do something else.

Though lately we've just been gorging on "Downton Abbey" on Netflix, so no ads there.
well, when i was still living with my parents I had the remote control in my hand watching ALL programs at the same time, switching every 2-5 seconds to the next channel - so there wasn't anything really fascinating to watch anyway, if it is enough to get 2-5 seconds of the plot about every 1.5 minutes - watching TV is a waste of time to the most part.

Btw it is illusory to think that you can ignore ads - they work subconsciously anyway - even a single picture added into a movie once every second will make you consume this ad subconsciously, even you do consciously not even realize that it is there at all. This has been investigated in detail and ads cannot really be ignored, even we might think so.

That's why I fall asleep on the sofa with the dog regularly while the wife watches TV :D

In the event you just can't get out, load in vanilla (no horizon) from the launcher, and you'll find yourself in orbit with the SRV safely stored, through the power of space magic.
Save my bottom more than once.

Now I feel confused:
how could I forget about this after using this solutions zillion times and recommending it instantly to any other commander in similar trouble on another zillion occasions?

Our brains are playing their own game.
At least mine is for sure.

I'm currently transporting two of my Commanders to Colonia from the Bubble via a Fleet Carrier and Holy Braben I need a Bridge to look out of. So far all I've seen is the wall of the Docking Bay.

Anyway, as that post was game related please take this picture of a cat playing a banjo as an apology.

Possibly by the same reason a psychologist cannot solve his own problems but needs another one helping him in these regards. Even all what a psychologist is doing is putting your last statement back to you as a question ;)

Well, after reaching 2km distance terrain changed, there are less rocks and game is stable again.
They was something off with rocks density earlier, I suspect it may have been the reason for game stuttering so hard as they were spawned in portions and were "popping in" irrelevant to GFX setting. Never saw anything like this on any other planet in the last weeks.
