Gek systems use prefab wood builds... so Gek system if you need wood lol... they also worship the sphere... unlike others...

One action a day so far and thats seems to slow...
Haha, looks like NMS is giving the vibe that original Elite did with its wacky system descriptions. :D

This is true. :(

However, goatfungus (who does the NMS Save Editor) says he's had a breakthrough and should be able to get something up and running in a few days. Supposedly it's just the new checksum format he has to figure out, because the save format has already been decompiled.

In the meantime, there's also NomNom, which although isn't as easy to use as the above, does work with Frontiers. I may have used it to obtain the missing daggers... ;)
I haven't used NomNom before. I'll take a look. It's nice to have a backup when things get stuck at times. Goatfungus editor has been a lifesaver many times. In the beginning, it was just to increase the storage size in those old 5 slot storage units. They were ridiculously small. I still think they're a tad small and perhaps they could allow to have more than 10 would be nice. It's kind'a silly that there are a bunch of decorative storage boxes that can't be used for anything. Everything should be storage. And I wish some things you have could be "placeable" in the world. The weapons should be stored in the weapon rack. And much much more!!! Gib Gib!!!!

I like the Gek settlements the most. My favorite is the "bar" or "town hall" or whatever it is when it has 3 floors and a balcony with door. Since it's all procedurally/randomly, it's not always a given.

I'm just trying to find one on a good planet now. Forget about the other settlement that never need anything but are happy with increasing debt. I need a happy and productive place.

I think this is a bug introduced in Frontiers unfortunately. I've not restarted yet (waiting for the weekend), but I have heard of a few weird issues like this.

Couple of things to try though without restarting your entire save:

1) Fly up to space, and then come back down to the planet to try and set the 3rd destination point again. Sometimes a different planet instance can help.
2) Restart the mission (you'll have to do the first two triangulation points again, but no real biggie). On PC, you restart it by holding down the middle mouse button. Not sure about console, but it should be visible on screen when you hover over the mission in your Log.

Beyond that, best wait for 3.63 and see if that fixes your issue (do other stuff in the meantime).

Thanks for trying to help, unfortunately neither of those options worked. Middle mouse in the Log screen on that mission does nothing. So I just started again in a new save slot and keeping my fingers crossed to come across another S class multi-tool, at least now I know about upgrading tech and cargo capacity from drop pods.

I restarted just the other night, really enjoying it, but like most things I'd imagine I'll get so far then be distracted by a different shiny bauble at some point.

Got a tough bloody start though on a very hot planet. Was constantly looking for sodium to keep the protection up until I had other options.

Fix for settlement actions due...
You're about to get extra actions.... from 3.63 and later..

Fixed an issue that could cause some settlements to fail to generate any decisions for their Overseer. Decisions are now expected at intervals of 15 minutes to 2 hours....

I still remember several of my fresh starts in NMS. Such great experiences.

I am definitely not a fan of the new building mini-menu sticking to the middle of the screen, following my "gun", it's really annoying.
Erm, how do you delete something now?
CTRL doesn't work anymore.

Yeah. I'm not sure I'm a huge fan either. It's a bit confusing how it works. It's definitely more powerful than before, but I keep on accidentally clicking wrong options. To delete something, you have to "Edit" existing items. I use controllers so for me is to click X and then left trigger.

How long after a big update like this (the original Frontiers update) before HG irons things out? Is it about two weeks? I tend to switch to other games after such an update to allow all the subsequent patches to smooth things out.
Usually is very quick. I'm a bit surprised how many bugs and how many patches for this update.

Found a new bug today after the patch which I'm going to confirm again later today and report.

I can confirm the repeat building stage bug is fixed.

... - on the Artemis "thing" when asked to triangulate using booster thingies - my third destination icon is stuck right in the middle of the sphere hovering above an observatory's control panel - no matter what I do, wherever I "build" the booster I never get offered the triangulation option. (.......

Just an update - found a fix / work-around:

The same thing happened on my new start, second beacon mission icon in the middle of observatory display - so a tip I found was:

Land at the destination site, exit ship (for save), exit game to Mode Select, start game, select that save then IGNORE THE MISSION DESTINATION ICON - just immediately build your signal booster near your ship, activate it - and there we have the TRIANGULATE option.

Worked on the new start and I just went back to the previous saved game and can confirm it worked there too.

So this is just a FYI to pass on to anyone else having the issue in future.

That's great news - glad you got it sorted. :)

I need quite a dedicated block of time to play NMS. Even a three day weekend does not seem to be enough. There's a lot of stuff to do.

My new save is going through all the starting mechanics. Created a refinery, etc. My other saves, I've lost track of. You have to follow the thread all the way through.

Yup, my mission logs are full of things to do, but spent this past weekend searching and setting up the 3 types of gas collectors needed to produce Stasis chambers, and Fusion ignitors. I never tried this side of the game before (production), my last long play through was focused of base building, and story plot, so this is new to me.

Egads, 32M units from one of each of stasis device & fusion ignitor.

Time to make for hydroponics for star bramble and solanium.

That's right. The method I used to make credits is to get (grind) all the blueprints and then make a hydroponic farm for all the plants needed, I also created some locations where I farmed the gases I needed and such. Took work, but then you'll get to a point when credits isn't an issue anymore.
