No, I dont subscribe to the hypothesis that Raxxla is hidden behind a permit lock, unless it’s one that is easily obtained (e.g. Sol, Van Maanen’s Star etc etc)

But I think FD do indeed manipulate pics-they won’t make it easy for us!! And dont forget most of the Codex is clearly waffle or obfuscation. I’m going to post my current hypotheses soon, since I cant play due to my hand problems, which seem to be getting worse!
Really o_O ?

Since my hand RSI problem seems to be getting worse I cannot fly. Ive had two 1-hour duration sessions looking in Deciat this week and greatly regretted them, so I think it’s time to post up my thoughts for others to chase down.

@yelboc @Adel- the codex is very clearly largely waffle/obfuscation, but IMHO there are some parts which are not and stand out in an obvious manner, such as the first Raxxla rumour date, the “Astrophel and the Spinning Stars” ‘book reference’, and the odd usage of the word “Fernweh”. These stand out and ought therefore to be real clues. See below for my thoughts, they are a bit disconnected, but if you read through you should follow my logic and see the possibilities.

TDW

TDW faction in Shinrarta are still in existence & haven’t been shut down; FD confirmed to Rochester that the old E/F “obfuscated” missions have been deleted, but the faction itself is still in operation & hasn’t been “shut down”. Are they “outer rim of wheels within wheels” as per Premonition i.e. a front by TRDW? They could (until recent BGS manipulations) only be accessed by becoming a Founder or Elite (in-game “personal journey”?). As a “TRDW front” could their Jameson Memorial missions somehow lead to TRDW? Systems are locked by PF, TDW are a faction of PF, so do we need to run PF missions from Jameson’s Memorial? OR is TDW just a total red herring and DB’s “secret society” is perhaps Pilots Federation? Or another faction? There is some strangeness with PF-multiple subfactions of it, one of which gets Allied status by rescuing passengers from damaged stations &/or bashing Thargoids. What about the other sub-factions?

Every faction with triangular motif as a tattoo or on uniform/flag?- repeating game meme ->GUARDIANS!

how do we prove bravery & competence to such a group of adventurers?membership test likely to involve adventure, exploration, travel, treasure hunting missions, unlikely to promote assassination? But perhaps a play on words & “free spirit” could mean TDW is a pirate faction (could be described as gentlemen adventurers and treasure hunters!)??

Ackwada mention by AStroud’s PhD thesis? Tourist beacon: Astrogator Tours corporation (originally based in Bedaho), specialising in deep space adventure holidays-claim him as their founder/patron. An ancient message capsule was recovered from outside the orbit of Jupiter in the Sol system (returned by old style probe that arrived at edge of system!); it had a message crystal with the log of the second five years of Augustus Brenquith's solitary search for new worlds, his 'glittering legacy'. Included in the list of planetary systems that he discovered was Ackwada-is this a journey to follow??.“Astrogator Extreme holidays carry the image of the legendary explorer Augustus Brenquith” (is this in-game?? Never seen it!). The holidays tend to include extreme, and frequently quite dangerous, activities in distant locations, like atmospheric wave-riding, volcano diving and magnetic surfing. Trusted intrepid pilots take these adventurers 'to the edge' for 'life-changing experiences'.

Galnet 27 March 3301 Unknown Explorer Returns From NGC 3199 Nebula: Representatives from the Sirius Corporation, Patron’s Principles, Chapter of Isinor, the Alioth Independents and the Sublime Order of Van Maanen’s Star have expressed great interest in Cmdr Swift Arrow’s findings. But why are two hermit theocracies interested?? Are they TDW? (I’ve become allied with both, no membership invitation received.)

From Codex TDW are a group of adventurers, explorers, investigators and treasure-hunters, and membership often runs in families, so who is likely to be a member? Liz Ryder? (TDW lore says it is/was led by Ryders, but she’s a demolitions expert? Worked for a crime syndicate??) might be a member, but more likely Felicity Farseer (legendary explorer, been to the Coal Sack Nebula, “Farseer Inc”, based at her father's mining and refinery facility, achieve Scout explorer to meet her, seems knowledgeable on TDW), Selene Jean (former prospector, rumoured to be the daughter of a rock hermit), Lori Jameson (accomplished explorer, prepares ships for extended deep space operations, descendent of famous adventurer family, combat Dangerous), Elvira Martuk (well known explorer & possibly former assassin, “Long Sight” Base, initial requirement Travel 300LY from starting location), Ram Tah (has travelled everywhere, Guardian expert, Phoenix Base, achieve Surveyor explorer rank), Prof Palin (Travel 5,000LY)

N.B. Phoenix is symbol for Elite and also the Lave Rebellion !

Lyta Crane’s TDW station orbiting 8th moon of GG? this may well be obfuscation! She is “self-professed”, implying deceitful or unreliable info. Rival experts accuse her of forgery. Her sources may have spoken half-truths or lies. BUT Neptune is 8th planet of Sol and IRL Triton is its 8th moon! Neptune was Alex Ryder’s son who led TDW seeking Raxxla. “A little bit obvious”??

Drew Wagar-Dark Wheel stuff was mostly "off limits" and reserved for Fdev to develop - though the stuff that later appeared in the Codex didn't seem all that related to the stuff I'd been working from in 2016 - ( ie. Lyta Crane and the eighth moon/gas giant stuff was newly written for the Codex).

TDW station is logically at the stable L1 position between body and parent which will always be visible

In-game Brewer advert says “looking down on worlds since 3100”. A station is expensive so would only be put in a system being colonised. By 3100 the colonised worlds were Sol, Tau Ceti, Delta Pavonis, Altair, Beta Hydri & Eotienses, and maybe Achenar & Arcturus. That should cut down the search area! However stations were in use long before 3100!

N.B. Selene Jean, daughter of a rock hermit. Rock hermits likely belong to organisations like the “Guardians of the Free Spirit” (Van Maanens star system description but faction not in-game by this name!!) According to Zieman- Guardians of The Free Spirit did originally control the system, but very early BGS shenanigans got them ousted completely, bringing Sublime Order of Van Maanen’s Star to power there. SO ejected from game & then had to be replaced by another theocracy; why?. Perhaps they’re the Real TDW?? Or Chapter of Isinor?

Does toast fit? “whisperer in witchspace” (whisperer can mean knowledgeable with arcane skills, e.g. horse whisperer) could mean either Felicity or Elvira Martuk...Flic could be both Whisperer and Siren from her engineering mods- Felicity’s G5 FSD mentions crossing “the biggest and most dangerous rifts in the void” & “Your courage will be your limitation, not your ship.” She’s advocating crossing Rifts? ->membership test?

in-game Rifts & Void?
Formidine Rift (had no membership invitation as yet though I’ve been to Zurara, which is in FR, but I’ve not been across it!). FR was retconned and relocated from the old lore (Lave Revolution-FR was quite close to Reorte etc) to where it is in-game, so this might be a part of the TDW storyline? Why did Drew Wagar use the Formidine Rift? Who named it? Did it come specifically from the FD lore bible?
The Great Rift HIP 84605 (done this whole area & sold data to Flic, no result)
The Void is Galactic Region 42 (answer to life the universe and everything?)
The “Outer Arm Rift” was near GR42 according to old Galactic Mapping Project map, but may not now be canon

N.B. “Long Sight”=“Farseer”?? TUNNEL vision??? (I.e. monomania, fixation-> fernweh)

Fernweh
Using German_English translation: Fern= remote, far, distant, faraway, far-off

wehe, meaning an ache, misery or sickness BUT

Weh = sore

So fernweh literally means “far sore” (->farsaw->farseer-> Deciat???)

Raxxla
Edit (Now from Raxxla first rumour date 2296 it is likely to be found in Sol/Old Worlds/or nearby (but hundreds of automated probes were sent to all nearby systems in 22nd Cent, though Quirium not invented until 2482 (in Lave) so they had very limited range! ) n.b. 1238 systems within 50 ly of Sol, 286 within 30ly, so I think this date limits the search to within maximum 30ly from Sol! Flawed logic in this paragraph-2296 is 23rd Cent!). 2296 is around time Achenar was settled, 139ly from Sol

Codex clue “for those with eyes to see” -> sight/ farseer/long sight base/fernweh=far sore (i.e. “far saw”); perhaps also implying Tunnel Vision? FOUR possible CLUES (“A little bit obvious”??) suggesting Omphalos (a tunnel)/Raxxla relates to Felicity Farseer/Farseer Inc/Deciat?

Raxxla logo: Perhaps Deciat/Garay Terminal = Raxxla logo? Nope cuboctahedron not hexagonal. Hexagonal heat radiators at Farseer Inc?

Raxxla Logo could be a map & indicate system with asteroid belt & engineer, but six theme? Farseer Inc is on Deciat 6a & Deciat 6 has 6 moons!

Deciat (131ly from Sol) has A belt, B belt, planets Deciat 1 to 9. Garay Terminal (Coriolis), Hasse Point (surface), Kirtley Vision (surface), Matteucci Dock (outpost), Farseer Inc (surface), Carson Hub(outpost). FSS shows 18 asteroid belts but 9 A belt+6 B belt=15. Where are the others??

Farseer Inc is handcrafted, the base appear partially underground (a base split by a canyon, with walkways built into it).

Omphalos (if exists in-game) is likely to be Guardian artefact, so blue lighting is suspect-shoot blue lights to power up Omphalos?

Book reference
Codex- cunningly concealed clues in “Princess Astrophel and the Spiralling Star”? There is no such book (similarity to Philip Sydney’s Astrophil book title is very weak and just pure assumption, it’s a red herring). We don’t have the book, so the clue must be in the title itself!!

Princess Astrophel and the Spiralling Stars

By treating this “book title” as a potential anagram you can decode (“eyes to see”):

Sol - Earth, Rhea, Titan, Ariel, Titania, Salacia, Actaea, Eris, Sedna
Io
Callisto
Triton
Charon
Persephone
Chapter Isinor
Eotienses (red dwarf type Va, Denton Patreus) - Stein
Isinor Charnas

Also, assuming Farseer is a real clue, which seems likely from the “sight” clue I can get from anagram:
Deciat one/three/eight?/(a/e/g)/nine, /Hasse Point, pharseer inc (checked out Conjoint Industry Core, Green Moon Steading, White Monkey installations)
Dessiat Carson? (Shoot blue lights to power Omphalos?)
Racsla at dessiat one/three/eight/nine.
Racsla prophetess/prison/sensor/nine/port/seer
Inside Hasse Point/star/Carson/spaceport/chapter/prophet/(EDO Fletcher mining or Bargh’s) Prospect?/reactor/research/sceptre/spheres/crater/hopper.
Deciat in/at/on/oer the star/Hasse Point/pole/ eight a,nine a

I’ve done a lot of searching in Deciat, but not found it yet, however didnt get around to shooting blue lights on Hasse Point/Carson Hub. Even shot Flik’s vertical blue spotlight in case it was a Guardian beacon (my ship was destroyed!). Ive checked out Eotienses, Van Maanen Star, Sol, Sirius, Alpha Centauri, Isinor.

Remember: unless it is disguised as part of a station/outpost etc it must be an astronomical body that is invisible, like a comet or certain asteroid belts. A comet's sphere of influence appears to be about 50km radius (from https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threa...ormal-space-close-to-them.350586/post-5486213), so very short detection range & only visible as a mention in left hand cockpit display hologram.

Other
In Allen Stroud’s PhD thesis he presents parts of the lore bibles he wrote for FD; in 3250 an artefact (made by Mudlarks?), was stolen from the Imperial palace on Capitol. It is believed the value of the object wasn’t important, but that Hengist Duval had cut his hand on the object only days before, meaning that the resultant bloodstain contained his genetic code. Despite the best efforts of Imperial agents, this object showed up in Beta Hydri briefly before being delivered to Federal agents on Mars (may be Elite Wanted book plot?). Implication is that Feds/TDW have cloned the Emperor’s bloodline? Premonition seemed to imply similar physical resemblance between Empreror Arissa and the female clones (Rebecca, Salomé, Elyssia...).

There is confusion over alien artefacts in-game. A tourist beacon says one (child’s hand-sized) was found on Mars during terraforming, however Allen Stroud’s PhD thesis quotes his lore bible “In 2280, the first non-human relic was found in space. The object, no bigger than a child’s hand was collected by an orbital probe around Europa and quickly brought back to Earth. No information has ever been circulated as to the properties of this item or its origin”. Sounds like retcon or obfuscation!

@yelboc : thanks for the like mate! I’ve made a few minor clarifications/additions so you might want to re-read it.

Well, that's a really poor work (totally joking, i couldn't have been such a search ;) ).

- What are PF missions (and what PF means)?

- For the belts of Deciat that appear to be missing, they could be INSIDE Deciat's main star (like the asteroid belt of Sol being inside the star). It means either its coordinates didnt get applied (when you spawn an object, it can be either at {0;0;0} or {-1;-1;-1} depending of how you code that) or it has not been implemented for the moment and they are "sleeping" in the star waiting for fdevs to manipulate them.

- For the unauthorized station at Isinor, you cannot interract with it. The only thing you can do is flying inside its tunnel with a small ship like a fool :p .

- Did anyone tried to be allied with the factions of the old worlds?

- Did anyone tried to give items in Farseer's market? All engineers are always needing stuffs.

PF = Pilot’s Federation.
Ive tried flying through the tunnels in the installations Ive come across. Nothing happened, but why are they there? Seems a likely possibility for the Omphalos!
Yes, that asteroidbelt discrepancy is odd and would warrant investigation! Try doing the xame as you can do in Sol- select the asteroid belts in the system map then go back into cockpit and see if the star or anything else is selected.
Since she mentions it in her upgrade chat I went out exploring the area of the Great Rift and sold the data at Felicity’s base UC outlet. Didnt trigger anything, however I had been out to HIP 84605 on an earlier trip, so couldntget any scan data there, perhaps you need to get that specific system data for her. Ive also got level 5 on at least her fsd upgrade. Perhaps need to get maximum level with all her blueprints?
Cant remember trying to ise her market & dont know about the old worlds faction building.

P.S. it’s bloody difficult trying to type left handed on my ipad while right hand wrapped in a heat pad!!!

When i was in search with other players for salvages, we found that there were DataCore in military installations. In fact in all installations there are cargo bays INSIDE tunnels.
But like you (or someone else) said: one installation's tunnels could be hding something. Then people would only see the installation and not what there is inside.

Yea, for Raxxla to exist in-game from the outset (i.e. gamma release), within 30ly of Sol, but not be found by now must mean that it’s disguised as something quite normal. This was the reason for me asking a few days ago if installations had been in-game since the gamma!

Why is everyone saying 30ly.....we made it further than that before 2296, we discovered life on Beta Hydri in 2190 and i presume further probes etc where way out further than that, 30ly would be just colonies established while probes and ships would ahve spread out much further we caused an extinction in Delta Pavonis in 2180 whihc is 20ly away so coming up to 2296 we would have surpassed 30ly by a lot

I just checked if the guys involved in the "Great Raxxla Potato Search" are checking installations too and indeed they do.
So they must have found it already if there were something in there.

Are they flying into all the installation tunnels? Shooting at any blue lights?

Yes, there was a logic flaw in one paragraph (now updated) in my current hypotheses post. 2296 was the first documented Raxxla rumour date, & around that time Achenar was settled (139 ly from Sol). That fits my interpretation of the clues.

I originally favoured near/in Sol because of over-emphasis on the existence of the Mars Artefact, which that paragraph was originally supporting.

For some reason I tie the Mars artifact with either the Thargoids or Guardians (Or maybe even the AI) and is what gave us our first proper upgrade to Hyperspace hecne not needing outposts and beacons anymore, I believe Raxxla to be something else beyond the reach of these two species (I am hoping it is to be honest as those storys are just gap fillers rigth now and emntion in previous games suggest Thargoids feared the word Raxxla but this may tie in with Guardians)

Nice to see such energy and passion devoted to all this. You can ask me things. I'm not hard to find.
Where is Alxxar? Will it have a Fur coat for sale when I dock there? How fast do I need to frameshift away from the Loach so it doesn't eat me when undocking?? and most important of all.....does my head look big in this Pioneer helmet?

Serious though any hints, clues or even vague points in a direction other than "Raxxla is in Elite" in some form that we dont know of lol

Why can i continue to fly into this star without heat raising and why is there weird white solar flare particle effects with strange music lol 43.35ly from Sol LHS 1642 A, one single solar flare, never changes its location on the sun, im currently flying into it in deep suicide mode wish me luck lol
