Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

noterity 1 :D

it was self defence, he shot at me for no apparent reason, yes i borrow a few bits from the container. But it was a necessary it was just there in the open. 2,300 for wat i not paying for a new employee :D

it was in his job description. "you will die".
God created men weak and strong.
Samuel Colt made them equal.
Manticore Munitions made some equal-er than others.

So, despite of been playing since May, the corrosive experimental is still bit of confusing to me. The description says it will temporarily increase all incoming dmg while it is in effect, so i guess lazor also benefit from this (I know the base thermal resist from armor will still kick in)?
You know more than I do!

AFAIK corrosive effect temporarily lowers the hardness of the hull. So bigger portion of penetration damage goes through instead of being mitigated. But lasers do most damage as heat damage which isn't affected by hull hardness and only small portion of their damage is penetrative (though there are differences - pulse lasers do higher percentage of their damage as pen than beam lasers for example). So although their penetration damage gets a boost, it's such a small percentage of the overall damage they are dealing that it's not very noticeable.

...buuut I could also be talking absolute crap. You know me.

I have absolutely no data to back this up but I feel like it's doing at least something even with beams - before adding the experimental effect, it took me longer time to destroy hulls with my Krait mk. II. Could also be that I've gotten better at aiming. Could also be RNG. Could also be sunspots.

Also, my engineering addiction has paid off - so many weapon loadouts to choose from for the Krait. Now I've found one that seems to work particularly well for the low intensity CZs, or at least it's fun to use. Two large long-range gimbal beams, one large gimbal multicannon with incendiary, one medium gimbal frag cannon with drag and a medium turret multicannon with corrosive.

Also pt. 2, my FA off maneuvering has gotten to a point where I get the desired outcome more often than not. :D

F/A ? What's that ? Thanks.
Flight Assist. It's turned on by default and gives a somewhat aircraft-like handling to ships. Turning it off allows you to do whatever you wish in the limits of Newtonian physics, or at least almost - there's a top speed you can't surpass.

This is rather advantageous in battles, as you can face the target almost all the time and use forward-facing weaponry. Haven't tried it in mining yet, but can think of a bunch of benefits there, too

Hmmm, looks like I'm done with the Fed rank.

Well done. But you're not done done until King and Admiral. Just sayin' :p
Yep, but those ranks have no actual benefit for the time being other than just a rank (not even a permit). So i don't bother grinding more. Will travel 700ly again to get rear admiral then head for the vette. Take some BH break then find imperial burning station for cutter then I'm done with the navies.

Yeah I stopped there too, but eventually I wound up with King and Admiral just from playing :)

Now you can buy all the ships!!

I keep meaning to try out FA off combat, but it slips my mind whenever I'm in battle.
