To Solo Play Players: If You Could Disable PVP, Would You Play in Open Play Mode Instead?

It took me a total of like... 3 days play if i recall correctly to get full fed rank, just by spamming pirate assassination missions. Its not really hard...

I dont really appreciate the unfounded assertion that i cheat.
So it's like I thought. You cheesed your way to the meta gear. To get that little edge against the normal peasants?
And cheesing isnt cheating.

What are you talking about?

Whats the non-cheese way of doing the rank grind, in your opinion? I did missions for federal stations. I chose missions that i find more fun than space trucking, as far as im concerned i did it literally the intended way.

Edit: Oh, and a Corvette is hardly a gankers tool, lmao. Hint: They are slow.

Im coming to the conclusion that you dont actually play this game at all. You have a very weird (wrong) impression of how it works.. and alpha strike?

You dont play mechwarrior online do you, lol?
Does it matter? You kick in reverse and kick the other dude until they flee or blow up. Long range mod is all you need and your ship speed is no factor anymore.

WHY DO THEY PLAY IN OPEN THEN IN THE FIRST PLACE????

Seriously. I don't get it. Why do people desperately want to take part of the game in open, yet don't want to interact more then o7 o7 o7 ?

Interaction in this game can be so so cool, even with strangers, especially with strangers. But if you don't want to maybe suffer a setback or a minor convenience or an annoyance,
why log into open? When I personally want to compete in a CG, or want to hand in Explo data in a 3D shielded Asp in Deciat for whatever reason, I click "solo", or maybe "PG".
Why do you people want to desperately change the game so that all interaction will be o7o7o7o7o7o7o7 ad nauseum?

Seriously, it's always amusing to see a forum moderator blatantly defending combat logging (i.e. cheating) in an online multiplayer game.
Speaks volumes about this forum tbh.

Menu exit - certainly - Frontier approved (and they acknowledge that not all players will agree).

Actual combat logging - not at all - that's against the rules.

The two are often conflated by those who don't accept that menu exit is permissible - that does not change the distinction though.

Maybe, but on the other hand we see all those posts here of people saying "they'd love to see some legit piracy in game". NIMBY propably.

And parasitic? When I pull a Cutter and demand 10 tons, do you think in this era with basically free credits it's more than rpg? Hint: it's not.
My theory is that many people do little equation pirate=ganker, and react accordingly. I have never been pirated myself, normal player interdiction goes: submit, interdictor opens fire, no comms at all. At that point I come to conclusion that ah we have a ganker. For a player pirate I would gladly give some stuff, as long as it is not mission specific cargo.

If only we had the opportunity to steal explo data... :D how many explorers would have been spared by someone's overpowered hardpoints
Stealing that data has same consequences as blasting whole ship -minus rebuy. When I do exploration home run is always in solo. I would not care about ship itself, it is cheap to replace. But that data and name tags on it is what I do care about.

Chicken & egg situation.

Pirates want to rp but their victims almost always flee or clog on them (due to inexperience, not wanting to rp, etc)

So they turn to ganking and kill their victims without a word.

Victims who were fine with a bit of piracy rp become disillusioned because they keep getting killed even after submitting. So they either flee without giving a chance for the pirate to rp or clog.

Pirating is harder to do than straight gank.

It started before launch - some combat enthusiasts made Open not so much fun for players who don't like PvP - so the first Mobius Private Group was founded.
