To Solo Play Players: If You Could Disable PVP, Would You Play in Open Play Mode Instead?

There are enough ways to harden exploration ships to be ungankable without making them useless.
Granted, you need engineering for that, but at this point it's part of the game.
And there are good reasons to blow up explorers for the BGS, I don't get it why they always want to hand in their stuff in Deciat and Shinrarta,
instead of backwater hobotown where no one ever interdicts them.
And I don't get why people who presumably PvP for the challenge instist on blowing up ships that aren't.

You are right though, Solo makes an explorer completely ungankable and you won't even have to waste your time on the unbearably grind that is engineering. And in Solo you can hand in your data where ever you like, so that's all good.

The explorer selling his data will affect the BGS, although the explorer probably doesn't even care about this and just wants his exploration credits.

This can mess up someones plans who is playing BGS in that system, which is the reason why people blow up explorers in open.

Did that make it any clearer?

Well if you consistently managed to escape from human interdictions then I'll have to take your word for it since I've only been interdicted by NPCs so far.
Ship type also affects how the interdiction minigame works. Type-7s are a pain to catch in any big ship as they can turn very quickly.

I'd say about 9/10 of my targets submit as soon as I start the interdiction, and they try to do the old escape from the newbie guide that works quite well against most PVP ships, but it's quite hard to escape from a ship that slows you down, prevents you from jumping out and is built to steal your booty.

Usually people combat log after the first FSD breaker hits.

Actually, if they stop maneuvering for a while I'll open fire with everything I got, it means they are waiting in the menu.

These people just pop out, which happens when ED is closed in the task manager or internet goes down.

Yes, that's true. But to be honest none of PvE activities I participated required all the optional module slots. Would it make difference for trader to carry 8 ton less using T9?
Yes it's unfair that all the gankers and griefers get to pick the target in the only all-encompassing mode while we pve players have to use private mode or get isolated in solo.

As such, building with ganking in mind already makes PvE activities inefficient. Now you make it worse.

Mode parity for everyone. That also means that i get to choose how i want to play with others.

Your idea is a lose/lose for everyone. People will be compelled to play solo/pg even more to eschew this module. An Open PVE mode will separate the PvP friendly crowd from the PvP hostile crowd much cleaner, by providing a space for cooperation without any hoops to jump through (such as those needed to get to Mobius in the first place), and will make everyone happy (bar the seal clubbers, but no tears for them, they kill the replacements ED sorely needs)

This module is like a mobile pillory, nah even a collar, to actually shame players for their playstyle.

At the very least it won't make it worse - as those who afraid of being ganked already play solo/pg.

Do you feel ashamed equipping cargo bay, as it may indicate your playstyle? Or maybe you feel better making high wake as soon as you see hollow triangle?

It can definitely affect the reputation of PvP player flying with this module in combat ship, but that is unrealistic scenario imo. If you think gankers would use to avoid anti-gank activity - I would disagree, as at any attempt to attack non-hostile player the module will be deactivated. And won't be activated back until cleaning up notoriety status.
