What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Very beautiful Swjos!

I think i will join the party soon. The weather is really bad and cold and i cant do something in my garden, so time to play 😁
Thank you! :) And yes, enjoy gaming before it gets hot outside and playing a detailed zoo is pure torture on our poor machines :D

Loaded up my zoo yesterday for the first time in a while, but not sure where to go with it. The last thing I added was the gemsbok habitat, but now I'm thinking I want to do three conjoined habitats for gemsbok, bongos, and the coming Nile lechwe, so next time I play I'll probably scrap the gemsbok and redo the area.

And this is it, the last habitat that I'm building in this zoo is ready. Welcome to the sea lion habitat!

It has an underwater viewing area, of course!

Here's my piece of the pie:

@Aramar and @Swjosdotschka, y'all are some of my favorite builders, but in different ways:

Aramar, you spend a lot of time detailing every nook and cranny, and you just go with the flow. I enjoy your architecture style.

Swjos, you plan ahead, and despite things going wrong, you don't give up at all. Yeah, maybe you'll redo something, but you won't give up, and you build nice, relaxed enclosures, nothing over the top

Totally forgot to post last night after finishing.

Amity has now a cute little entrance and is therefore ready for its first habitat soon-ish. :)
Your Amity Zoo is brilliant - love the buildings and the look of the Zoo - reminds me of the seaside and Jaws - and very excited to see where it goes - it is inspiring too:)

Love the stadium area - the stone work is great - might have to steal some ideas(y)
After some weeks of absence I just admire all your progress!
Your Zoo foliage and colour pallet is beautiful - I live in semi tropics and this reminds me of my gardens:love:

Thank you! 🥰 Haha, yes, it is totally inspired by Jaws. Just a little more peaceful, because there is no open sea to swim in :D
I am VERY curious! Super awesome terrain work, omg.
looks at her flat map I can only do flats :D

Currently I'm staring at my map, not sure how the path should go and which animal to put where. I'm torn between building two sections (island animals and water animals) or just mixing things up.

Super excited - one of the best coastal village styles and themes - I wish the Wetlands pack features estuary scenery pieces/trees/logs/aquatic plants and debris - would be brilliant - to add even more coastal and wetland vibe - would suit your great architecture and design. Looking forward to seeing more of Amity:)

I have a franchise, National Zoo Org, set in the Americas.

Zoo Santa Fe is complete, as is Longview Zoo (our HQ) and Sequoia Wildpark (needs to be spruced up). I'm in the middle of Montego Bay Zoo, set in Jamaica.

Now, in this last zoo, I need some inspiration: I built a suspended platform that'll be a viewing platform for flamingos amd also antelope (Thomson's gazelles, black wildebeests, sable antelopes). This area will be Africa. What should I bring in, next? I kinda wanna do aardvarks, but what do y'all suggest?

Personally, I'm always biased towards "lopsided" African collections without all the big-name species (elephants, zebras, giraffes, lions, rhinos, hippos)-- so how about some sort of African small animal house with aardvarks, meerkats, lemurs, and foxes, or something?

Perfect, yes, that'll work. House some snakes, too.

Although, I may eventually do lions because I need 1 big name and lions are icons in Jamaica, I believe

Thank you so much for your kind words @GGG2021 , I appreciate very much! It's super motivating when you guys here like something.

Yesterday I built a tortoise habitat and a staff area for another section of the zoo, but strayed away too much from Amitys style, so I re-did the staff section today and like it a lot better. This part of the island is supposed to be a bit more foliage heavy. I'm trying to work my way from two sides of the zoos that will eventually meet for a go-around.

So, it's time to present my latest project.

Since I had some problems with my last zoo (the animals just stopped moving) and it just got too big for me. I thought long and hard about what to do now.
I started 2 other zoos, but didn't find the right connection to them.
Since I'm often too uncreative myself and have the feeling that I always use the same animals, I usually don't get past the entrance area.
Then I read the Random Challenge that someone posted here on the forum and I was immediately interested, but found it all a bit too complicated. So I sat down and developed my own dice system.

My first result is:
4 for the tropical biome
2 for Asia
1 for the zoo theme "general/shabby"
The zoo is limited to 15-20 animals.
The first 3 animals must match the continent and the biome.
My first 3 animals rolled are:
7 for the Pangolin
38 for the Babirusa
and 40 for the Proboscis Monkey

and here we are... welcome to Taman Negara National Zoo. (Taman Negara is a national park in Malaysia.)
