There are many great things about the cutter, the brakes are not one of them.

Top tip if you are close enough to a station to see in through the mail slot do not press boost.

It's handling much better now after a load of Engineering ;)

The only downside I've found is on random auto exit from station, it decides to ram the walls! Normally if in a queue.
Auto Dock seems fine. Anyone else seen this?

Took it out to a HAZ Res site for some fun, and thought why does everyone rave about turreted beam lasers?
Helps if you switch on fire at will I guess :ROFLMAO: No wonder I was fighting to hit anything - Still a N00b!

Almost everybody with a Cutter fitted with Advanced Docking Computer, all ships wobble around a bit when in the queue but the Cutter because it slides so much is the one that gets noticed. Apparently it has got worse recently due to thrusters being less effective after an update, I couldn’t say as I haven’t been in a position to test it.

Fire at Will let’s all your turrets shoot at any hostile in range and arc not necessarily all at the same one or the one you actually want to shoot, this is really bad if innocent bystanders have become hostile.
Target Only means that all the turrets that can hit will fire on your selected target to do the maximum damage, they start shooting after you pull the trigger and stop when:-
  • The target is destroyed
  • You deselect the target, if you target another ship you will have to fire to restart the turrets
  • When you retract hardpoints
  • They lose arc or range
  • The target is obscured by non hostile targets
  • They run out of ammo
  • Your ship blows up
Forward Fire turns them into an even worse version of a fixed mount weapon, only useful to shoot at stuff you can’t target that is straight ahead of you.

I only use that setting in certain situations, in a RES site, where I have a fighter pilot out and I'm in the main ship with a bunch of gold or something in my hold to attract pirates. This works well for pirate massacre type missions. I keep a close eye on which ships are turning hostile. Usually it's the pirates that go hostile when I don't drop any cargo. Then my fighter engages them, and my turrets do their thing while I swing the main guns around to finish the job. That way my turrets get going before I actually have the pirate in my sights to fire on manually.

Do the turrets work through the AI or do you need to hire somebody to run them? They seem like a nice addition on the larger ships.

Yes.

The turrets work through their or the ships AI they can also be worked by a player if you let one onboard using multi-crew but you have to give them permission to be the gunner, the main advantage to this is you get another Pip to play with in your power distributor.
You can’t get an NPC to do this they can only fly your expensive ship or a cheap disposable drone known as a Ship Launched Fighter, I don’t trust them with my ships.

Note I haven’t got round to multi-crew yet.

Not sure we actually need another ship in the game. Not averse to it, nind you :D

Perhaps the next step up after fleet carriers would be owning your own orbital or planetary base. May be a step too far though.

Anyway. I have my fifteen financial projections so I'm waiting to fold space to see Terra Velasquez - she should be letting Oden Geiger know I'll be along to chat shortly. I did some research and I know what he'll want. I ought to be pretty close to getting him his medical supplies and data. When I finally get night vision, I don't think I'll be after any more engineers. Don't think I want them as much I did those who engineered my ships.

I may go mining after. Get a load of credits to purchase a few thousand units of tritium and take off into the unknown a bit. I need to hit another glalctic sector though; they all seem so far away - or, at lease, the ones I've not already gone to.

Ahhhh! Carrier jump successful... here we go!

I had that happen when I had a T10, I look away for one minute and my ship is trying to headbutt itself to death

... A bit of nostalgia for me this evening - hauled some mined platinum from my FC to replenish the bank balance after buying Oddy gear ... found myself transiting my original stomping ground - those were the days, Palladium from Warnates and Perf Enh back - T-7 cooking en-route (close trinary system) and crapping myself every interdiction - then along comes PowerPants and destroys all the markets. Still miss Thrudds for trading, that was a brilliant site, shame no-one could take it on.
