When he spends 11 minutes criticizing FDev and spending 30 seconds mentioning that Elite and FDev is not actually without a praise (new srv, carriers interiors, streams etc)? Right!

Giving a totally unbalanced and prejudiced attack, which has been the case since he and ED fell out of love with each other. At least he's not selling SC as some sort of brilliant game, like Drew Wagar.

I thought the suggestion that a reason why FD does not communicate roadmaps like other games is because of a lack of confidence in their ability to deliver, and he did actually support that with a couple of their own quotes. That's an interesting point from the video but overall yes he has become increasingly jaded and negative about the game. I don't think it's without reason though - but the negativity trend is clear.

Why? He did a lot for the community. Are you going to hate on everyone that has a different opinion to yours?

It was a personal opinion that I find Ed Wood's films and his use of stock footage much more interesting and enlightening. If people want to watch other stock footage, be my guest.

Maybe it's a bit of people are just sick of negativity in general?

I mean, I get up in the morning, go about my day which includes a relatively stressful job. In the midst of all that we've had a two years pandemic. War in Europe with the threat of nukes going flying at any given moment. People are losing loved ones at a rate of knots. Governments seemingly getting more corrupt by the day, fascism making a storming comeback, people at each others' throats on the streets.

What's wrong with in the middle of all this, sitting down to play a game for a couple of hours and - god forbid - getting some $#%^@$@ ENJOYMENT out of it? And if you don't get any enjoyment out of it why are you still doing it to yourself? Does it somehow make you feel better to just p**s all over everyone else's chips rather than, I dunno, playing any one of a million other games out there, or maybe even going outside once in a while (which some of you could do with)? Or just accepting the game for what it is, which I'll bet a hefty pint that every single person reading this has gotten their money's worth out of?

Oh wait, its that the constant bile and hatred is coming from a place of love. Good god, it must be horrible living with some of you. I have this image of spouses or significant others walking around with their eyes and nose circled in red pen, because their faces aren't perfectly symmetrical, and everyone else must see what I see, and share in my unhappiness at being exposed to a less than perfect product. Wives and girlfriends walking around in a red bra because one boob is 4g heavier than the other. And it all being spelled out like they're being done some sort of service. "Stop crying, I told you that you were overweight and useless because I care about you. Do you expect me to stay quiet and pretend that everything is fine while you fall apart?"

"For fudge sake" (Thanks FDev censors) get over yourselves, acting billy big bollix over a computer game. There's not a single one out there that's without issues, not a game, not a film, not a person, not a sports team, or whatever you happen to get your jollies from.

I think he said quite alot, both good and bad...Praise and constructive criticism. Having said that, its clear you know he was honest and correct, since you cant point out any specifics, just some nonsensical attempt to deflect.

I say it's time the community gets together and develops a bot-driven pseudo FDEV messaging thread a la CP2077 Bartmoss Collective Killing in the Name questline.

It could include gems like,

"Rise up against the corporate overlords trying to steal your access to the dark and dangerous future."

"Reject the coin of the coinmasters that would enslave you to transit communication devices."

"Winter is coming on little cat's feet."

"Know that the vapor graph is an illusion sent by the minions of alpha centauri to distract you from the truth."

Hourly, every day. No more complaints about FDEV not communicating.

What are you ranting on ? Certainly not the OA video which is the subject of this thread, since it was never about anything you posted in that super long monologue of yours.

Also, I've seen game dies, and I can tell you, there are no sure sign it will die. Some do, like plummeting player numbers. Other don't. Some even keep on going despite all appearance it will shut down. Tabula Rasa was working on their first expansion, which was on beta branch. I was invited to it alongside a friend the day before the announcement for shutdown came. Surely, you don't work on an expansion when you know it's shutting down ?
There was a marvel or whatever MMO which shutdown suddenly because they didn't get a license renewal. Saying it was sudden is understating it.
Other keep on, despite all reasons to continue.

I don't care to click on the clickbait. Please what point, argument or puec3 of evidence do you find so compelling? Such that the impression of sinking can be gleaned over the active development we have actual evidence for? I'd love to know and none of OA's defenders have offered it.

FEELS like a sinking ship. I look at the news every night and think, "Great Scott, it almost feels like the biblical end times!" That is radically different than me strapping a cardboard sign around my neck that says "The End Is Here!" and walking through the streets naked.

I'm not saying you need to be OA's greatest fan. But as someone else said, you're not just giving him rent-free living space in your head, you're clothing, feeding, and buying cable TV for him too!
