Key feature overhaul?
Must be "SAVE AS" button to bindings menu!
View attachment 305911
I took delivery of Virpil stick & Throttle last week. (so new bindings time!)
It would be great to have "Save as..." as an option, and have the bindings descriptions better documented - I still mess up the GalMap / Camera axes even after doing them several times in the past!

"Overhaul" implies changing something that is already in the game, rather than adding something new. Though I guess you could argue that ship cockpits / bridges are already in the game. Feels like a stretch, though.

On foot engineering could use a lot of work and some more significant integration of on foot activities with ship engineering would also be good. The key feature overhaul could be exobiology though, as its extremely basic as it exists right now.

As a first step I would be happy if the descriptions/explanations column in the graphics settings was populated with a simple useful description of what each setting did.

Let me ask you a somewhat heretical question: Do propaganda and lies also enjoy the protection of freedom of speech? For example, if I were to go here and say something like "Everyone loves Odyssey", that would be pure propaganda in my eyes, and for someone who reads the forum regularly, a downright lie. I'm almost sure you can follow me this far. Now I would just like to know why negative statements that suggest they reflect everyone's opinion suddenly enjoy the protection of freedom of speech?

You are then totally mistaken as Fdev never spoke about player having already console and pc account what will happen. They said new account will not merge but never mentioned that they will not affect or overwrite existing pc accounts. So again, those are just interesting thoughts.
Keep your head under the sand then, I guess. Apparently you watched a different live stream than the rest of us.

Wrong. They very clearly said that the transfer process would ask for a CMDR name to transfer to; and that the name you specify MUST NOT ALREADY EXIST. That was one of the key stipulations of the process.
WHERE WOULD ONE LOOK UP EXISTING COMMANDER NAMES TO DETERMINE THEIR PREFERRED NICKNAME AHEAD OF TIME? A SITE LIKE INARA IS OBVIOUSLY NOT COMPLETE.

there is something i didn't understand: when transferring our console account to pc, will we have to create a new account, with a new cmdr name etc, or can we take the name of our pc cmdr, and lose all progress on that cmdr, which would be overwritten with our console progress ? (sorry if i am not really clear)

edit: oh it is a question that has already been asked, sorry :)

Now this is why I don’t want ship interior, I got my fill of fighting people and monsters in corridors and rooms decades ago.
I didn't want a first person shooter but I somehow ended up with that. Elite in my view is a space ship game.

I'd like ship interiors, it would make me feel more attached to my ship. Make it a place that's mine. I don't want to do combat onboard my ship, there's no reason to think that would happen because you can't aboard fleet carrier interiors.

But I would like to be able to leave my chair, see all the modules (shield generator and all that) and do repairs inside and out (EVA). With courier missions, place the box in the cargo hold myself. I know it sounds silly to some but just to interact eith the ship instead of just clicking something in a menu. Make it a place.

I like the carrier interiors simply for what they are, a chance to experience the space of space stations, rather than just another menu screen. Similarly, I feel that ship interiors would enhance ships merely by existing. Otherwise ships are just another menu screen with the pilot trapped in the pilot's seat.

For some, just having the space to use is gameplay. There have been various suggestions of how ship interiors can be used (including by DBOBE himself) so I see no particular value in repeating what those opposed to ship interiors will just ignore again.
Exactly, thank you.

Sorry, but what would "Ship interiors" bring to the game? You can go for a coffee or a crap in space. Yay. Use the interior of the ship a couple of times and you'll get bored of it and want it back to straight gameplay (which is, after all, what this is).

I would much rather effort went into fixing how Engineering works. Fixing how ranks and rank rewards work. Having the galaxy evolve like a real civilisation with corporations bringing out new ships occasionally with ever-evolving tech features and improvements to function and form. Ever-changing mission types and mission content. Improving AI with NPCs actually seeming to be intelligent instead of the current nonsensical dumbasses. (Pouncing on a miner just as he arrives, empty, to start mining? Really??!)

Improving weapons and modules but with irritating limitations... the list goes on. Maybe Zorgon Peterson bring out a new FdL with all the lines centralised or something I dunno.

But ship interiors? MEH to the max. What would you DO with it?
I think Star Citizen players would vehemently disagree.

correcting archaic 32 button input limit when?
I gave up on that one.
Probably never. Issue tracker did not help, the short phase where FD showed the most voted bugs did not help.
Even my nagging did not help (I am shocked)
The game has meanwhile so many bug that the devs probably don't even know where to start.

The most funny thing is that fdev created this problem for themselves. Instead of communicating (like they said they would) and tell the console commanders after they cancelled all console development - hey don't go starting new PC commanders for now until we'll sort things out with the transfers, they kept silent about the subject like a kid who broke something and now magically expects it to sort itself out. Or did they expect the console players just to abandon the game all together which is again proving "how well" they know their playerbase . So yeah, like I said, good job.

That's not what they're saying or said. They said that if the CMDR name exists already, the request will be rejected for rework.

It will be a Horizons (Elite Dangerous base game) copy only. The transfer won't take place now, we'll announce when the window will be open for it!

Possibly a silly question, but do you think there will be a way for commanders who have bought Odyssey on the PC (because they thought they were not getting an account transfer) be able to replace their Odyssey PC Account with their X-Box one should they wish to do so? I can certainly see the desire to say replace a commander with a few million and a Cobra and a Suit with my Fleet Carrier owning triple Elite X-Box commander, then I guess their original PC Odyssey Commander can either go into the void, or (even better) have their Odssey rights removed and moved into the newly created x-box transfer account?

Eid
