Let's see....
  1. Leopard: One way or another the game needs a true leopard, but if I can choose one I would prefer African as they are pretty iconic zoo game animals, despite not being common in real zoos. Also if I am not mistaken, they are the most arboreal which means more unique requirements and maybe even new toys.
  2. Two-toed sloth: I don't mind whether it is Linnaeus's or Hoffman's. Three-toed sloths are very rare in captivity and if I'm not wrong very difficult to keep.
  3. Red river hog: Very unique and gorgeous looking suid. Also common in zoos.
  4. Fossa: The game needs a proper predator from Madagascar.
  5. Gelada: A rather popular zoo species as of late.
  6. Asian small-clawed otter: Cute, small and popular. Should be the second otter for the game.
  7. Spectacled bear: If we get another bear, this one would be my first choice.
  8. Bennett's or yellow-footed rock wallaby: A smaller alternative to the red kangaroo for building smaller areas. I don't mind either species.
  9. Scimitar-horned oryx: A very common zoo species despite being extinct in the wild. Also would go well with the new desert pieces we have.
  10. Dromedary: Another desert species for the new construction pieces.
  11. Black rhino: I think still essential, would also go well with the desert theme.
  12. Sumatran rhino: Would go well with the game's conservation theme. Also proven to be kept and bred successfully in captivity recently. And very unique looking.
  13. Collared peccary: We have a rig named after them, yet no peccary.
  14. Tasmanian devil: Such a unique and popular animal to not have.
  15. Bush dog: Cute and quite different to what we have now for canids.
  16. Emu: A must have Australian animal, also common in zoos.
  17. Quokka: Has taken the internet by the storm, also very unique for a zoo game.
  18. White-nosed coati: No zoo is complete without coatimundis!
  19. African civet: Another smallish predator that I think would be quite unique for the game.
  20. Pallas's cat: The game's lacking in the department of small cats.
The rest of my choices will be smaller monkeys, which I think the game lacks. Smaller primates pretty much dominate zoo collections.
  1. Mantled guereza
  2. De Brazza's monkey
  3. Diana monkey
  4. Geoffrey's spider monkey
  5. Emperor tamarin
  1. Yellow-throated marten: Largest of the Old World martens. Has a vibrant coat, particularly of the northern subspecies. Smallish, cute, but deadly.
Looks like I've got 1 or 2 this time depending on how you count the leopard.
  1. Golden pheasant: This game is severely lacking in birds, a group of animals that dominate zoo collections. The truth is, we don't even need an aviary expansion to address some of these birds; of which many aren't even ratites. Although the game still needs that expansion badly.
  2. Grey-crowned crane: Same reasons.
I'll be replacing the oryx with the pheasant and if I'm allowed, I'll be replacing the leopard with the crane. The priority is on the pheasant, if I'm allowed only one change.

1. Blue duiker.
2. Yellow-backed duiker.
3. Kirk's dik-dik.
4. Anoa.
5. Two-toed sloth.
6. Coatimundi.
7. Northern tamandua.
8. Common marmoset.
9. Cotton-top tamarin.
10. Pygmy marmoset.
11. Radiated tortoise.
12. Mouflon.
13. Muntjac.
14. Saola.
15. Markhor.
16. Takin.
17. Golden pheasant.
18. Bar headed goose.
19. Brown pelican.
20. Dalmatian pelican.
21. Pink-backed pelican.
22. Scarlet ibis.
23. Northern bald ibis.
24. Bald uakari.
25. White-faced saki.

If you highlight the new ones, it will help Random Goat a lot, because going one by one is a difficult Task in what already is a difficult Thread to manage. Also from what I can tell by looking at your new List is you can't replace Sea Otter and Lar Gibbon, just because we got another Otter and Gibbon. So currently you have 2 Votes surpassing the Limit.

So what you're saying is, I should have kept the Lar Gibbon and Sea Otter on my wishlist? And only show the animals that are definitely new??

And we're back! Time for Round Two! Only 5 animals on the main list made it into the game, which is a tad disappointing. However, 2 of my honourable mentions also made it in to the game, along with the African Penguin being just as good as the Humboldt. So in reality, 6 of my top 30 made it in (1/5th). Anyways, some of my wants have changed, but not by too much. Here goes nothing:

1. Asian Small-Clawed Otter - I shall repeat what I said about this animal previously. The Giant Otter is fine, but it doesn't really feel right to use all the time. The Asian Small-Clawed Otter is much smaller and more readily available in captivity, making it a far more suitable inclusion in my opinion. [Added through the Wetlands Animal Pack]
2. Amur Leopard
- My mind has changed about the African Leopard. However, I'd still take any leopard. I vote for this subspecies specifically to boost the already high numbers and make it more noticeable. We just need a proper leopard. [Added through the Conservation Pack]
3. Lar Gibbon
- Basically the same reason as the leopard, but replace with gibbons. However, I do prefer Lar Gibbons over Northern White-Cheeked Gibbons now.
4. Przewalski's Wild Horse - Gives us another horse, and an animal that should be compatible with the Bactrian Camel. [Added through the Conservation Pack]
5. Hamadryas Baboon
- It's a big shame that the Africa Pack isn't an animal pack model. I absolutely adore this species. I would be fine if the Olive Baboon made it in though.
6. Addax - Very iconic desert antelope. Would work well with the North Africa theme in the Africa Pack.
7. Red River Hog - You can never have enough pigs. Especially pigs that actually look like pigs (Babirusa is close, but not quite all the way there yet). Also very red. Red is a nice colour.
8. Secretary Bird - The first truly new animal on this list, and it's a bird! It would make for a unique animal as pretty much the only bird-of-prey that could theoretically work as a habitat animal. No free flight needed.
9. Fossa - More Madagascar representation is always appreciated, and the apex predator of the island is probably the best choice.
10. Alpine Ibex - Just give us a proper goat Frontier, I'm begging you. In fact, just give us more goats, they're all so cool. [Added through the Europe Pack]
11. Iberian Lynx
- Conservational history and the chance to represent the Mediterranean biome makes this small cat get a thumbs up from me (yes, I did just copy & paste the entry from the last list). [Suitable substitute added through the Europe Pack]
12. Wolverine
- The largest land mustelid would help fill out a lot of roles in the game. From just being a land mustelid, being partially arboreal, more tolerant of cold weather, and being another small boi.
13. Moose - There's no way this animal is not coming to the game at some point, if not the next dlc after Africa (I highly suspect it's NA). [Added through the North America Animal Pack]
14. American Alligator - I feel like this entry speaks for itself. Finishes of the four major crocodilian families, Crocs, Gators, Gharials, and Caimans. [Added through the North America Animal Pack]
15. American Beaver
- Come on, give us some rodents Frontier. [Added through the North America Animal Pack]
16. California Sea Lion - Once again, how wasn't this in the Aquatic Pack? I can't believe we'll be getting two penguins and a babirusa before a sea lion. [Added through the North America Animal Pack]
17. Capybara
- Beaver but less work. I doubt it's going to budge from it's no.1 positioning anytime soon (unless it's added, but that's besides the point). [Added through the Wetlands Animal Pack]
18. Maned Wolf
- A fairly unique canine. Legit the only pack that people wanted a canine, we didn't get a canine. What the hecktopus Frontier?
19. Emu - Wow, this list still lacks birds, what a surprise. And it's the same bird as last time? Laaaaaaaame. I jest, Emus are really important to me, they're just ranked this low because I'm going in order of continents.
20. Tasmanian Devil - Speak of the devil. These little buggers should've been in the Australia Pack over the Dingo (I don't hate the Dingo in the slightest though). We need some smaller carnivores, especially when they aren't carnivorans.

Update: Extra 5
21. Common Wombat
22. Bennett's Wallaby
23. Linnaeus's Two-Toed Sloth
24. South American Coati
25. Sichuan Takin
Aight, time to update this now that we can do so. Replacement species are in bold (the ones that need to be counted).

1. Addax - Even with the Scimitar-Horned Oryx, the desert biome and North Africa still need more representation. Also, I loved pairing the oryx and addax in the same enclosures in Zoo Tycoon 2 and wanna be able to do that again here.
2. African Crested Porcupine - I'm basically just joining the bandwagon here. More rodents are always appreciated.
3. Bennett's Wallaby -
4. Common Wombat - Literally just need more Australian animals. I would not mind the Southern Hairy-Nosed, but I kinda want this one more now that I've actually voted for it and want to be able to replace it when we do get a wombat (I brought this upon myself ,:').
5. Emu - THE single most necessary animal for inclusion in my eyes. It feels so wrong that we've gotten this far without it.
6. Fossa - Now that we have three lemur species in the roster, I think it's about time their apex predator gets added. One of the most unique carnivores appearance-wise.
7. Geoffroy's Spider Monkey - More new world monkeys. 'Nuff said.
8. Golden Lion Tamarin - More new world monkeys, but this time they're tini.
9. Goodfellow's Tree-Kangaroo - Probably one of the biggest animals to not make the first list. I prefer Goodfellow's as that's what Oceanian zoos tend to have (I'm gonna be so screwed if we get Matschie's tho).
10. Hamadryas Baboon - Probably the last old world monkey I really need, but I would definitely kill to get some other ones after. More desert and North African animals should be of high priority tbh.
11. Japanese Raccoon Dog - Lil pupper. One of the more unique canines not in the game yet, and adds to the ever-increasing number of East Asian animals.
12. Lar Gibbon - Not allowed to get rid of this guy even with the Siamang being added. Not that I was going to remove it anyway cus I honestly want two gibbons in the game.
13. Linnaeus's Two-Toed Sloth - Honestly, three-toed sloths are one of the few mammals to actively creep me out, something about their face feels off to me. I still want a sloth though so this is my pick, even if I'd be okay with a three-toed.
14. Little Blue Penguin - I want a penguin I can use for Australian-based zoos. Little guy is so distinct from the other two we have it shouldn't be a problem.
15. Maned Wolf - Second highest ranking animal on the list as of this post. South America still needs far more diversity and this is probably one of the most distinctive canines Frontier could add right now.
16. Muskox - A caprid that represents the arctic FAR better than the Dall Sheep does.
17. Red River Hog - Quite surprised this wasn't added in the wetlands pack considering it's a very popular option and it literally has RIVER in it's name.
18. Rock Hyrax - Probably the most out of left field of the new choices, I just really like these little guys. They're definitely a viable option size-wise as they're bigger than the meerkats.
19. Saiga Antelope - I'm surprised this animal broke the top 40 animals. Despite not really being in captivity in recent years this animal is too unique appearance-wise and biome-wise to ignore. Give us all the funni schnozz animals.
20. Secretary Bird - More birds. Can never have enough birds.
21. South American Coati - South America needs more animals and coatis are just perfect imo.
22. Takin - Takins are starting to feel like the binturong for me (except nowhere near as cool as binturongs are my favourite animal of all time). I'm talking in the sense of the species is very well known to the general public but there's so many in zoos at this stage it just makes sense to include them for the diehard zoo fans. Also more goats are always appreciated (The first animal on my mind to replace the next added animal is also a goat that is very dear to me, just you wait).
23. Tasmanian Devil - It's exlusion from the Conservation Pack raises some eyebrows in my mind considering it's now the number one most voted animal on the wishlist. I predict it'll headline one of the next two dlcs this year.
24. Walrus - The biggest pinniped currently in captivity. We need more tundra animals, and it honestly the Arctic just needs to be filled up better (the Arctic Pack really shouldn't have been the first dlc if that was how it was gonna be handled tbh).
25. Wolverine - We had THREE packs that could've included these lil rascals. What's going on here? Does Frontier just have something against wolverines? I just don't get it.

We're slowly starting to edge out of the territory of "animals that I want but also think should just be in the game for practical reasons" to "I just want this animal because it's cool". Hopefully the next two packs allow me to expand that category further (species currently on my mind but didn't make this list proper are Himalayan Tahr, Cotton-Top Tamarin and the Short-Beaked Echidna).

Edit: Gave explanations for each species again (didn't do it at the start cus it's very time consuming).

I am in the process of updating the list now but in the meantime I see some concerns/questions have been raised so I will try to address at least some of those.

That's all 3 existing posts for my lists. Just to make it simple my list looked like this:
  1. Tasmanian devil
  2. Common wombat
  3. White-handed gibbon aka Lar gibbon
  4. Hamadryas baboon
  5. Iberian lynx
  6. White-nosed coatimundi
  7. Persian leopard
  8. Sichuan takin
  9. Matschie's tree kangaroo
  10. Black howler monkey
  11. Bush dog
  12. Ocellated turkey
  13. Helmeted Guinea fowl
  14. Ground hornbill
  15. Arabian leopard
  16. South Island Takahe
  17. Any sloth
  18. Ocelot
  19. Bennett's wallaby
  20. Himalayan monal
  21. African crested porcupine
  22. South American coatimundi
  23. Roseate spoonbill
  24. Secretary bird
  25. Any species of kiwi

If it's allowed, I'll remove the two leopards and the gibbon from my wishlist and add the serval, grey-crowned crane, and North American porcupine. If it's not allowed that's just as fine.
Sorry buddy but as @becks474 pointed out substituting the gibbon is a no-no.
The leopards are indeed a different case because, to my knowledge, it is the only subspecies I allowed back in time (with the exception of subspecies from already in-game animals). I am sorry but precisely because of the previous parenthesis, all the other leopard subspecies will get their own slot in the list now, with their respective votes.
Votes for 'indifferent' leopard will count as if they were Amur leopard votes (similarly to how I handled the rest of the generic votes for actual species -eg. sloths, gibbons, spider monkeys, etc.). Hence, people who voted for a generic leopard are allowed to resubmit.

1) It says in the rules on the first post that after every announced DLC, if any of the animals we voted for made it in, we can submit additional votes equal to the amount of animals on our list that made it into the DLC.

2) I think the issue there is that a lot of people vote for “sloth (any species)” (myself included, before I knew how it worked) and their vote just automatically goes to three-toed sloths because it’s higher on the list.
1) That is indeed true. Everyone is welcome to resubmit votes for animals that made it to the Conservation pack now.
2) That is also true. The rule regulating these cases has been in the OP since the beginning:
To simplify data collection, those answers that include several species in one slot (eg.: 1. Sloth) will be automatically treated as a single animal and added to the most requested species inside that generic animal group (eg. in this case: Brown-Throated Three-Toed Sloth).
There is literally no better way to handle generic votes, unless independent slots for those are created, which imo is not particularly a good solution.
Everyone could read the rule and therefore was responsible for what they voted for and how they voted.
Okay, now that the siamang is here, I have a question. I added the Northern white-cheeked gibbon to my wishlist, but I would have been satisfied by any kind of gibbon. Am I allowed to swap them out for another species?
Sorry but no.
I have a question regarding the re-vote. In my original list, I voted "any gibbon species", so does that count as being able to replace it, or my vote went automatically in Lar gibbon and i should keep it as it is ?
This is a different story though.
There is not an easy solution to this in all honesty. On one hand it would make total sense to allow resubmissions because a siamang is indeed a 'generic gibbon' and, as far as I remember, all the 'generic gibbon' votes went for Lar gibbon. But at the same time it would involve removing votes from an animal that is still present in the list (afaik it's the first time something like this happens, correct me if I'm wrong).
I think it would be fair to just allow people who voted for a 'generic gibbon' to resubmit their votes to another animal and that's what I'll do. I will make sure to remove a vote for Lar gibbon any time in these cases but I will also pay special attention to the original quoted list posted as evidence (don't try to cheat here, I will easily notice).

21. Striped hyena
22. Giant forest hog
23. Walrus
24. Elephant seal
25. Blackbuck

I feel that the dromedary, black rhino and red deer, due to having building pieces related to them since vanilla, HAVE to get in, like the jaguar and alligator did.

(And, even if they are to be disregarded, my exhibit choices as a bonus track):

A. Plumed Basilisk
B. Frilled Lizard
C. Axolotl
D. Cane Toad
E. Any stick insect.

Oh boy, this one got 3 of my list, and even one of the exhibit animals I'll have to revisit in the corresponding thread. I had already addressed the capybara in a previous post (swapped it for the red fox). Not gonna attempt to remove the gibbon tho; I really want a lar.

Anyway:

27. Gerenuk
28. Patagonian mara
29. Banded mongoose

Should I edit the original post with the animals that made in crossed out and the remplacement next to them instead?

So what you're saying is, I should have kept the Lar Gibbon and Sea Otter on my wishlist? And only show the animals that are definitely new??
Yes, it makes things easier for Random Goat that way. If you had voted for a generic Gibbon, I suspect you would have been able to revote that Slot, but yours is specifically Lar.

Edit: Now reading up on Random Goat's announcement, I can confirm what I just said about generic votes.
