Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

I found some more cool and different plants (for me), this moon was pretty hot, 431K, couldn't spend much time outside the SRV.

I also found another ELW, I checked the age of the only star in this system, 790 million years old, defiantly not enough time to allow an ELW to evolve. That's why I'm leaning towards checking every system in the plot and don't filter out any star types. Just a theory, anyway.

I may have made a error of judgement in a rather long distance trade venture I've embarked on.

Responding to someone's request for a lift to Rackham's Peak which can only be reached by Fleet Carrier,I thought, Adventure!
It's only 5500 ly so 11 jumps each way.
Then I had the bright idea of checking the market there to see if it was worth shipping anything as doing some trading with the carrier is on my ED bucket list.
Holy moly, they're paying 134,000 per ton for wine I can buy at 214 per ton. Several Cutter runs later, I have over 3600t of wine on board. I also congratulated myself for seeing Rackham's Peak is an outpost, so rebought a Python (keep selling them thinking I won't use one again) ready to bring in the megabucks with a great view above the galactic plane while I transport wine.

Then the trouble started...

Someone in the fleet carrier owners club pointed out the Rackham's Peak public holiday will be over by the time I get there. Yep, Quain is shipping over 3600t of wine to a party that will have finished, so the prices will have dropped 🤣

Then I plotted the fleet carrier route to get there, and for reasons I don't yet understand, it will be 18 jumps to make the trip!
I hope it's not more than 18 to get back.

Fortunately I have the tritium to make the round trip.

If for some reason no one wants the wine at Rackham's Peak, your all invited to the galaxies biggest p*ss up on Quains carrier come Wednesday evening when I get back. Or maybe Thursday considering I have 36(?) instead of 22 carrier jumps to do.
Well, if I'm going to fail at a lucrative trade, I'll fail in style.
Wine was paying 278,000 credits a ton over the public holiday week end - more valuable than platinum. The normal price is 33,000 per ton. But it seems all the drunk party goers over the week end are in a state of civil unrest, and wine is now selling for only 21,000 per ton. Still better than the 214 per ton I paid, but it will only cover tritium costs in one direction when sold. sigh :ROFLMAO:

"As construction proceeds on Salvation’s Proteus Wave, there is widespread dispute on the issue of eliminating the Thargoids."
Galnet News: THE XENOCIDE DEBATE

Perhaps a statement of the obvious - the real salvation is, creating an existential threat to make the human super powers halt infighting and band together to face.
Sorry if I'm getting too philosophical for a computer game :ROFLMAO:
Killing Thargoid's is not something that's ever sat well with me, quite apart from the fact I'm useless at it outside of Scouts. What are they looking for in the post battle wreckage, picking and choosing which escape pods to capture?

You made it to Proxima :D
The wreckage of literally thousands of ships must be floating around this nav beacon, and I'm only responsible for a fraction of them. You can blame Don Guido for a lot of them. His party palace (fleet carrier) is nearby.

Yes, thanks for the recommendation , and sorry about the mess :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
Note to self: Don't tag 3 wings of 3 Elite's at the same time!

Regarding my NPC - She is currently running a GU87 with fixed beams.
Now she is Elite, should I switch to something else?
Well, conventional wisdom is Taipan with fixed beams is best because it can take a bit more damage than the others
You could try a Javelin Guardian SLF that has slow shot speed plasma repeater. Maybe an Elite NPC pilot cam actually hit something smaller than a T10 with it.
