I found an interesting ringed landable planet today. There were no bio signs but I landed anyway, to check out the possible views. A ringed landable is usually worth seeing.

Well, it's something new happening, that's a good thing.

I'm not much for Thargoid combat, so the current situation in HIP 22460 doesn't float my boat. I was there for the big event. Saw the megaship burning. Saw some aliens. They attacked my little DBX. Ran away. Looked around for a while. Eventually they caught me and destroyed my ship, and I wound up for some reason 400LY away at a station I have not visited in years.

So that was it for me. Now I'm just going to continue exploring and doing exobiology, and watch what happens.

Maybe some part of it will interest me and be fun.

It'll hopefully be interesting to see where it goes...if the bubble burns and humanity has to use the Colonia Bridge to escape the wrath of the Thargoids, I'll be thrilled...ecstatic even...

As to the state of 22460, its difficult, fun, challenging gameplay that you can't just cake walk through...not that I've played since U13 release day though, out of commission for a while...my in game doctors have grounded me temporarily...

I left the game not long after Odyssey released and at that point it was really awful, not fun at all. I just got back into it a few weeks ago (before the latest update) and found that it was hugely improved. I have a 8GB GTX1070 and whereas before I was lucky to see 25 fps on a concourse or in a settlement, it had improved to upper 50's at the worst but that only transitory - otherwise and everywhere else was smooth and at my v-sync of 60 (I run at 2560 x 1440 set to Ultra - nothing tweaked).

I have only had a few sessions since the latest update (13) and have not noticed any great difference performance-wise.

That's more of a technical thing, but thank you! I've found it to run quite nice with a 3060 but I've not really done the on-foot stuff at all.

The last two updates have weakened the economy by roughly 23% across the board.

Metals and minerals are all selling for less, missions of all types are paying less.

Other than that and the constant new bugs in the nav map, I've noticed no difference at all.

I haven't really played the background game stuff but that's interesting.

I have one more gun to go - a kinetic one which I forget the name of - then that will be all of them except the two small pistols. I didn't even buy them so that'll be a future project.

I'm also going to re-engineer the hard points on my Viper. Don't have to save up for mats doing that as I have tons of the stuff unused

Want to get back to exploration at some point.
