What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

I almost dare not say it but I think I might be on to something that is going well and could be a long term project. It’s inspired by recent visits to Edinburgh and Dublin and past visits to Chester and Bristol. I think it will be set in Ireland.
I still have this idea but I was playing around with some building pieces and came up with a very simple zoo sign/entry archway which I am pleased with. It feels better for a small zoo so I’m working on that for now.

Today I was in a pretty sandy mood.
So look at my desert area with Meerkats, Fennec Foxes and some Antelopes 😁

Today, after building a Jurassic World in JWE 2 dedicated to my wonderful best friend, I finished sprucing up my North American section in Zoo Cozumel in PZ.
Added some American bullfrogs, made it nicer, etc.

Afterwards, I started to build my East Asian section, complete with Przewalski's horses, red pandas, and I'm in the process of an Amur leopard habitat.

Never had these cats before, and I built it to specifications, like I've built other cat enclosures. But man, I feel like Simon Masrani: "make the walls higher?"
I also feel like Robert Muldoon: "they're astonishing jumpers"

Y'all, I literally had to make the walls higher and these cats are big jumpers; I'm so surprised. Unfortunately, it was getting late, so I'll have to finish it tomorrow...

Suddenly had an urge to finish some loosely Warcraft themed facilities I was working on.

Some of these are still WIP…

…While these are basically done.

Hey man, what are you PC specs? Always fantastic your photos. Mine are mediocre (what kinda PC/laptop y'all recommend that ain't too expensive?)

I got a refreshed hate for hitboxes and space requirements.
Been working on a habitat for the Bear Necessities competition. Assuming I got a better chance of winning if I build a habitat that can be used in all game modes, so no sandbox tricks or anything. I haven't built like that since the game was new.
I almost complete my habitat and feel satisfied with it (the second pic shows this part). I realize it only fulfills like 1/3 of a pair of Formosan Black Bears' space requirements because rocks and plants eat up a lot of the area. Decides to add what can look like a second enclosure for separation but let the bears be able to access it all. Now I have only decorated a small part of the new area so far, and it is still only like 2/3 of the space it needs to be (the heatmap pic below shows it in its current state).
I'm close to giving up...

Long time lurker here...
Started playing again after a long break and have decided to go through and revamp some of my old zoo's starting with the first one I ever did. Think this is going to end up driving me nuts a little bit as I'm the type of person that will get woken up in the middle of the night with new ideas.

Going to section off the zoo into regions instead of having a bunch of random animals in box habitats around the entrance. Really glad this zoo has a lot of money to deal with mistakes on my end...

Sadly way to relateable. The fact that the games playability takes a nosedive outside of sandbox regarding space requirements is quite depressing

Finished the Clouded Leopard habitat I had so much struggle with in my lunch break, after several sessions.

4 th one shot habitat now. They are good for building practice, but I miss having a real zoo more and more. At the same time, all my "current" projects or on hold projects do not feel right. All super frustrating, really.
EDIT: Bear with me, obviously my image hoster has some problems atm. Hope that it's fixed soonish.

Okay, I don't know where this is going but I started another zoo. I got some clear ideas and I've even drawn a map before starting building, so hopefully I can manage to transform the ideas into Planet Zoo.
I really wanted to have a smaller side project to Biopark and after I don't really think I'l continue building with my Scandinavian zoo, I decided to do something different - in terms of the climate/biome I usually built in, so I went for the tropical rainforest.
The zoo is called "Jardim Zoológico da Madeira" and is located on the Portuguese island of Madeira. After some research I found out that Madeira doesn't have any proper zoo (except a small aquarium and very small parrot park), so my idea is to create a zoo which should mainly attract tourists like the Loro Parque on Tenerife (which is not that far away from Madeira). Since on Madeira there is sub-tropical climate the whole year, it perfectly fits to my ideas. A tourist attraction like this will of course have giant pandas, koalas and more mostly attractive animals.

I only built the basic layout, a part of the entrance (not sure if I will keep it) and a very basic layout of the first habitat which will show Baird's tapirs, capybaras and anteaters.

Well i guess i cant say i cant build anyone. Heres the largest most detailed building i have attempted at 4500 pieces (2000 alone for the roofing work) - the indoor elephant building is just a corner of the 26,000m2 elephant habitat at the oregon zoo. Took just about the week to fully complete, only thing i stole from the workshop would be the elephant skeleton. Streamlined building techniques with the roofing meant the support beams and all that fancy looking stuff took only 3 hours to complete
