To conserve SRV fuel while on 2000+ Lyr expeditions, what strategies are effective?
One that comes to mind is land, disembark deploy, scan in a circle for signals, board, fly, repeat to bracket the signal source.
First time I've had this happen with the route plotter, but it seems that it tried to strand me way out in the Black with no fuel.
I plotted a route from Slehiae TX-L d7-4 to Flyiae Phroo UO-S b51-1 and it gave me this route, taken from the Journal.

Currently there is an elaborate fuel store that serves no purpose when the normal fuel button exists. I suggest the addition of new fuel types to the game. I am not sure how this would be justified scientifically, but I would imagine it would be something along the lines of adding other elements...
About half the modules in my somewhat anaemic explorer are powered down at any given time, it feels like an oversight that I can't shut down an extra fuel tank. How cool it would be if you could explore without a diminished jump range, and turn on the spare from the module tab when you want to...
I am a new player to the game so forgive me if this has been asked before.
If you run out of fuel i think there should be an option to make some by synthesis like you can with your SRV. I play solo so can't rely on the fuel rats.
I'm thinking maybe if the system you are in has at least one...
Apparently, tritium will be available from Refinery economies. Explorers Anchorage has an Extraction economy. Please make an exception in this case (or change the economy to Refinery: it's supposed to be mostly a scientific research station anyhow, and with the arrival of Carriers, tritium...
I hope that refueling fleet carriers uses actual fuel, albeit a LOT of fuel. Think of it - we could become 'oil tankers' in Elite! I can picture my Type-7 (love that ship) loaded with extra fuel tanks and a huge scoop, loading up on fuel at the local star, ferrying it to the fleet carrier, rinse...
This is a repost I posted in the wrong section before. Apologies. I'll keep it concise.
The adjectives and nouns I would ask the community for suggestions. But I think I have some cool names and stuff to help describe them.
Right now I have considered three different fuel tank engineering...
Hey guys.
Happy New Year!
I've been thinking of my "bucket list" for 2019 and though I say it myself, it is a modest list. Nevertheless, these changes could help a lot of Commanders in very significant ways.
The first is the ability to send modules to stations. I don't mind the costs...
As the title says, while the last update was an absolutely excellent and very required buff for Saud Kruger ships, there is one major flaw that is still unresolved... and that is that the Beluga scoops very, very slowly. It has 3 class 6 slots, which while quite good for everything else it...
Limpets as currently implemented are a vital mechanic for effective completion of game missions. As currently implemented, only a few limpet types are necessary on a regular basis. Other limpet types are not as critical and are widely ignored because of the disproportionate load they put on ship...
Greetings, commanders.
One of my wing-mates recently attempted the record distance from Sol, so we got talking about fuel efficiency and max distance. I saw the thread that listed Cmdr. Mcgrew's 65,804.4 LY accomplishment. I began to wonder if my little DBX could ever go that far. So, I started...
When I first discovered the fuel scoop years back, I thought "Awesome! Never pay for fuel again!" I immediately went to circle a nearby star and watch my fuel gauge rise while keeping an eye on my heat and maintaining a steady speed so I didn't fall out of the corona or take heat damage. That...
I've just begun doing exploration using a Dolphin (for passenger missions as well) and I have noticed that when I enter my galaxy map it will tell me "last chance to fuel scoop" on my plotted route. I find it helpful, but not helpful enough, since I am running with a 3c fuel tank (8T) trying to...
Please could we have the fuel tank in the Chieftain increase to a 32t as standard, as this would make this ship just that bit more perfect for those of us who would like to do more than just combat. I for instance would like to use this tough ship as a secure fast transport for passengers, and...
Or is there a purpose? [EDIT: I see now, it was engineering commodities - before I started playing again this January...]
Every mission running ship now has to waste a slot for an otherwise useless 4 ton cargo rack.
On ships with few slots, that puts a serious crimp in your fitting...
Would it be possible to set the FSD to exit out of hyper space a different distances from the main star? For instance if your in a medium ship jumping 40ly. You wont need to fuel scoop so if you could set the FSD to exit further away from the main star as to line up with the next system and...
To Whom It May Concern,
Commanders, I require assistance in the Wolf 882 system. Due to a miscalculation of fuel, I am now trapped in the Wolf 882 system.
To whoever reads this, please come urgently!!
Regards,
CMDR_JINPegi.

Problem:When fuel scooping you usually have little information of how close you are to the stars you're scooping from beside from experience of Heat % and Scoop rate, the radar and/or selecting the star itself does give you some idea it's still rather vague and not as detailed and clear as I'd...
I have been playing only for a few months, so I apologize in advance if this isn't a new idea for the veterans here.
One thing I noticed in the game, is how some things like some ships (#freekeely) or components seem to miss their purpose.
Optional Internal Fuel Tanks (and to some extent...
Am I the only one thinking that the only available Fuel Scoop engineer upgrade - "Integrity" is completely useless?
I didn't notice this upgrade until recently I saw it and got excited ( Fuel scoop is among few things you absolutely must have to explore the galaxy properly, and I'm the explorer...
I tried to suggest this on the KS comments page but it disappeared off the bottom of the page almost before I'd finished typing, so I'll try again here.
I don't know if anybody has done tihs yet and if they have then my apologies and I'll shut up about it.
I'm suggesting that those of us that...
