Patch Notes Update 2.1.04 update incoming

thanks for the docking computer fix. still yet to see if i still get interdicted over and over by master level and above npcs still.

@Henri thats a known issue on some stations. i would guess you are at one of those. there are bug reports already on that brightness.

i have noticed sometimes when inside a station the console with the huds in my asp explorer seems to be reflecting the light from the nearest star - like the light can get through solid metal...

Hey, Brett C, just want to pass along my hopes for fixes for:
- Turrets reverting to forward fire on supercruise transition
- Radar reverting to minimum zoom on supercruise transition
- Multi-cannon ammo refilling on supercruise transition
Spot the pattern? And,
- Broken Powerplay combat expansions (AI doesn't fight back)

We appreciate your hard work, FDev team! Gotta stay positive. :D

Many of us use it for final touchdown. Manual + DC is actually faster than full manual. Much faster at bases and outposts in my experience.

What?
You've never tried boosting from the back of the station, making the turn into the slot without needing correction, then nose down into the pad before flaring out and killing throttle so that you grease onto the pad without needing vertical thrusters? Get that perfect once and you'll never think about using the DC again :D

Shouldn't you be working on Apex?

nothing like relaxing while cursing bugs made by another gamedev team ;)

The 0h0m0s missions is on my list, the minor factions one is new to me - first of hearing about it. Will pass along the feedback on interdiction rate.

thanks, in case of doubt and need of more details feel free ask me on Discord

A workaround that hasn't failed yet for me is to go to right panel > Engineers, then hit Back. Opening the Engineers UI always closed the Station Services UI, which is quite annoying, but useful in this case. You can then open the Station Services again. Obviously this requires EDH so that you have the Engineers button there (at least I assume base-game-only players don't even have that button available).

that's not working always as sometimes the menus are stuck not even the trick via map isn't working ...
I would say there are like 2 or 3 stuck cases with various level of break vs UI

Got me a lot better at manually landing my ship and I thought it was hilarious that npcs couldn't land right either way fixes are always good

Allow me to elucidate you. Don't worry, its not as pervy as it sounds!

Here are the steps (assuming FD follow a fairly standard practice):

1) Problem is identified by playerbase or QA. Ok, that was on day 1.
2) QA log the issue in JIRA or whatever they are using, and pass to the dev team.
3) PM (probably) takes a look at his available devs, priority of the issue, and assigns it to a dev.
4) Unless its uber level hotfix critical, probably goes into his pile of jobs to do for the week. Probably being told it needs to be solved if possible by the next patch.
5) When they get the chance, they look at the issue, and try and identify the problem. This can vary depending on the complexity of the problem. They might get it in 5 minutes, it could take hours.
6) Dev informs PM their estimate for duration of the fix. If fix is going to take many hours, the PM might decide to escalate to his manager to ask whether a fix should be produced as a priority or not considering the estimate. However, let's assume the fix takes no more than an hour.
7) Dev produces fix and tests it themselves on their local build (possibly)
8) Submit the bug fix to the testing build for QA to test.
9) QA tests. Reports back whether it worked or not. If not, we got back to step 5 or thereabouts. If it works...
10) Fix is submitted to the release branch.
11) Build manager accepts patch, along with other patches being submitted for the next patch.
12) Await higher management give green light for release of next patch.
13) Patch is released.

There you go, it might not work exactly like that in FD, but its pretty typical.

Pretty much this. With the addition of the fact that the bug was almost certainly a side effect of the AI code changes and tracking down unusual side effects like that is a lot harder than it sounds sometimes. It's a needle-and-haystack sort of problem.

A-hah, this would explain all the debris floating around in the spaceport after a small break while i was docked last night. I could not understand how so many ships had been destroyed inside. PS, only playing for a few weeks, and love the game!

Check your AUDIO settings. Still working for me.

Haven't touched my audio setting and just to confirm I checked and it is on. But no stations are talking anymore when in their area. Track IR sluggish too. Something wonky going on. Even after fresh reboot.

Yay for the docking computer (and NPC docking) fix.

About the "various text fixes" though - does that include the issue where the message received upon ranking up was indicating the wrong rank? Just curious, it is mostly trivial after all!

I thought the instant repeated interdictions had been fixed. Not had one of those since previous patch. Might be worth checking with the team if they either think its fixed or its just my luck and others are still having it.

Can confirm this is still happening; it's mostly related to NPC pirate spawns, but can be caused too by mission-update targets.

Lost all exploration data after the upgrade, worth 600K+. What's the way to report this and ask for compensation?

Hey guys,

We have a small update coming for PC and Xbox One players. Specifically to address a number of fixes and stability issues. Servers will be down from 12noon BST for about 30- 45 mins.

Broadcast messages should have already started

Patch notes

Stability Fixes
Fixes for crashes when Hyperspace jumping
Fix for crash when entering Supercruise from a Conflict Zone
(Xbox) Fix for title entering unresponsive state after disconnecting the WAN Network cable
(Xbox) Fix for title crash from launch

General Fixes
(Xbox) Fix for loss of Horizons access after launching from Engineer Base
Fix for Docking Computer and NPC’s drifting off target landing pad
Various text updates

Hidden updates:

- Assasination missions now spawn irrelevant npcs instead of target, continiously. Mission target multiplies itself over and over again resulting in incomplete mission.

-0hr0min display is now fully functional. Instead of giving you at least 1 minute, they now fail instantaneously.

-Irrelevant npc chatter shows up on the hud continiously even after you kill them.

I will post more "updates" when i discover them.

Seriously guys, is there a cat walking on your keyboard while u are updating the game? Each time there is a fix there are new bugs or broken mechanics.

If fixing the docking computer causes so much bugs, maybe dont even bother.

Instead of having a rant, if you have screenshot proof then submit bug reports about each of these issues. Otherwise it's totally unreasonable for you to expect anything to be done.
