Patch Notes Update 2.1.04 update incoming

Auto docking is NOT fixed.

Just went to land my cutter, it came down on to the pad so hard it was like at full down thrust, then it shot off to the LEFT bouncing around being stuck. Shields going down and down had to disable the module to dock.
It's better than it was, my anaconda lands every time with DC, however it does seem to be a bit brutal, not at all like it used to be. Shields take a pounding when it lands.

WoW never broken always improved.
you have obviously NEVER played WoW or read patch notes for WoW even. i have read notes in the battlenet launcher about bug fixes. bugs that were introduced with fixes for other bugs. the notes are all there if you care to read them. in fact anyone can go read them without needing the launcher. i can give examples of other games right now which introduce bugs with every bug fix patch, or game dlc even. sometimes bugs dont manifest themselves with QA AND beta tests, because the real world is the real world and there are always bugs which get through.

no company on earth can compete now by so thoroughly testing anhy software that it is perfect on release. first they would be out of business because the dev costs would far outstrip their resources before it got to market - at some point you need to go to market to get some money in. second, where the pc is concerned there are so many different configs - laptops, and then the build your own pc model with so many different varieties of hardware and software combos you will ALWAYS be buggy on some number of combinations.

No matter how I think about it, it's pretty doom and gloomy. I seem to have a special case bug. There's not enough info to figure out the cause and I don't think one person is worth all the digging it would take them to find it while going blind. They could easily fix my problem by adding 4 or 5 lines of code to add in a failsafe check to make sure this is fixed and doesn't happen again even if they can't figure out why it happens. From their point of view I'm probably not worth the extra hassle and I may never get access to those engineers I'm missing.

I wouldn't look at it that way. The hardest part is finding out what bugs are there in the first place; once that's established, with the details ironed out and such, the rest of the process is more or less straightforward. It does require knowledge, effort, and time on their part, of course, but I wouldn't doubt it'll get fixed.

Docking computers may well be fixe. However, there appears to be a revival of an old problem with the station becoming hostile upon departure and treating you as a trespasser and of course they Police kill you most unceremoniously and without warning. This has now happened to me twice since 2.1.04 installed. It is possible to escape if you boost and boost again out of the air lock.

Super AI's are still attacking - my A rated ASP has been destroyed along with cargo and reputation 5 times ( no refund as Frontier believe they have fixed the glitch that gave AIs weapons that destroyed your ship and cargo with 2 shots ) Clearly this is contrary to the Geneva convention ( I am sure there will be a galactic equivalent!)

I concur, the hard landing. The problem has not been properly resolved and like the original glitch does not happen with every automatic landing. The approach to the landing once engaged is not as graceful either. I was a keen player of the original Elite when it was first released and the docking was a replica from the film 2001 A Space Odyssey.
I suggest the docking process be reworked to operate without judder and exaggerated sharp turns to be like it used to be in the 80's. And yes I can land manually but I just like the sound of the Blue Danube as it concludes the mission with satisfaction.

Docked at a few large ports for the first time today since this patch was released. Docking computer seems to be working better than in 2.0 or 2.1 (I didn't experience it when it wasn't) but there's as much carnage from npcs as ever. Ships going boom against the outside of the station on the way in, wreckage littering the landing hall if you sit on the pad for more than a minute or so.

Still getting magic 'personalised' baddies spawning immediately behind & interdicting me before I can respond, or magically spawning into normal space a second after I drop despite not seeing them in supercruise.

I think the evidence is there, we are being attacked by AI's spawning behind without notice and zapping us unfairly ( This is a war crime ) and I think frontier should refund and compensate us without delay to maintain our continued support.

I`ve played Wow from it`s release just like I do any Blizzard game (1 game in every 5-10 years is worth checking out) and continued playing until 3rd expansion. During that period I did not encounter any game breaking bugs, honestly. Even if there are many game breaking bugs just like you said it sounds reasonable because it`s massive in scale, gameplay and content altogether since release. Not to mention additions in each expansion.

Same here,

Got suprised by an NPC showing out of nowhere while in normal flight, collecting stuff, shot me 5-6 times and I was a goner.

Just been killed by another super AI after immediately arriving in a system shields gone after first shot, down to 25% second shot RIP.

There is no fun in this since the engineers release. Also getting treated as a trespasser at orbital stations despite having docking permission and Zapped. Am giving this game up will have a look at Star citizen I'm glad I did not invest in the Oculus rift. Having studied the forums/Utube there are some unhappy Cmdrs out suffering the same fate since Engineers release. It will take an awful lot to get me back I loved the game in the eighties and also prior to the Engineers release now its not worth the effort if I have to pay up the insurance cost plus lost cargo, fines and reputation after every trip. By bye Frontier.

I understand that there was no change in the NPCs behavior announced but I have played the game for a few hours since the 4th patch was released and I do see some noticeable differences in the NPCs behavior. I have had about 8 dogfights and I fled only once. That is a very big improvement. Some NPCs however seem to be strangely defensive. Lot's of maneuvers and in 2 cases I have encountered expert NPCs that didn't attempt a single shot against me. They were mission NPCs that I was asked to kill as an optional delivery mission update but still not a single shot is very odd. I did come across a very difficult mission NPC in one mission that left me with 42% hull so it's not that all NPCs are defensive. I've been to anarchy systems and faced difficult opponents there and that's good; they are supposed to be there. Still all the fights looked playable and the opponents did not seem to have superpowers (as being unable to bring them in front of you) as I was seeing before this patch.

Hi
No, I have never played WoW, but I Fought in the Falklands War and a Few Gulf wars! I wont mention Bosnia. The rules of engagement were different in every war (real) but at least you could defend yourself! Yes I am a bit old to be playing computer games but due to a Back injury sustained in the Gulf war I am pretty disabled. Hence I enjoyed Elite in the eighties and prior to the Engineers release.

In the galaxy map, when I try to plot a route 90% of the time I get failed, this has been happening since the 2.1.03 update, and still happens in the 04 update, W T F.

What region of space, exactly?
If it's anywhere where stars are particularly sparse, if there's any part of the route where the plotter would have to "double back" in order to get further, it doesn't know how to do that, so it fails.

Plus there's other bugs we may not be certain about; I know sometimes during my Sag A trip there were jumps I thought I could make but the plotter would fail...but that always, always only ever happened in sparse areas, for me.

Also getting treated as a trespasser at orbital stations despite having docking permission and Zapped.

Had this happen a couple of times pre-Engineers. However, it was because I had a "Wanted" flag and station security scanned me after I got docking permission and was in the slot. Immediate revocation of docking permission and attacked by station security ensued, along with me trying frantically to escape into supercruise... (Managed to escape once, the other time(s) was destryed in the slot...)

Might be worth just checking your status in that system, since having a wanted flag only stps docking if local security scan you - it CAN happen after you've got docking permission even with the flag set.

Hi, V'larr
I want to get to "Obassi Osaw" I have tried from several system close to each other, "Sowiio, syntein, Kikua, Jeterait", but aways come up with failed to plot a route,
