ANNOUNCEMENT 2.2 Your Input Needed - Passenger Tourist Destinations

Submission by: CMDR Alex Traut
For those who love this color, it's hard to beat the vivid purple of HIP 95924:

Not altered in any way. This screenshot won a contest on the EDC Facebook group.

Well, I have a number of candidates for this which is only fitting as for the past 2 months I've been on an epic 102,000 LY quest to, and then up, the western rim of the galaxy. So here follow a few of my selections:

1. For the Mildly Adventurous - CSI+47-21046 1 - The Patchwork Plains

llTcj9y.jpg

At only 6,400 LY from Earth (roughly), this is the only landable planet of a large, bright Wolf Rayet star which is currently in the process of blowing off its outer layers in a distinctive red and blue pattern. Enjoy a weekend of camping, hiking, and dune-bashing in high gravity.

I think the twin ringed planets of Apam Napat (2 & 3 irrc) would make a nice tourist destination. I can't find any of my screen shots from there, but I did do a video that includes footage from there a while ago...

Apam Napat features from 0:00 - 0:39 then again at the end...

LBN 623 is also a quite nice, but overlooked nebula not too far from the bubble. The system itself isn't a whole lot to look at IIRC (haven't been there in quite a while), but the view sure is gorgeous. LBN 623 Sector JH-V C2-24 in particular has a really good view of the nebula.

Also, if I may (are multiple entries allowed?), the system of a thousand (well, 20) suns is also quite the attraction. I haven't been there myself yet unfortunately, but I think the system map speaks for itself... :)

40 Upsilon-2 Hydrae

A little less than 500 LY out of the bubble, the visitor to 40- Upsilon Hydrae is first greeted by a Class B giant star. Having refuelled, they can then move on to admire the Black Hole, the Neutron star or one of its 16 other stellar, or 55 planetary bodies, of which several are land-able and many boast ring systems.

2. For the Very Adventurous - Rifuia RW-N C6-0 ABC 1 - Finisterra

Glokta Tours recommends you the experience of a lifetime on the last (or maybe the first) earthlike planet in the galaxy. At roughly 31,400 LY west of Earth, this pristine safari experience promises to be the holiday of a lifetime. How would you like to get close to species so uncontacted by human life, we don't even know what they are yet? Better still, Finisterra has no less than six (6) suns and at night, the glow from the galactic plane is bright enough to cast a shadow (unless it's winter, in which case there are no light sources whatsoever at night.)

(Travellers are advised to get every inoculation available before booking.)

This planetoid has a remarkable amount of thin atmosphere.

Your Commander name – this will be used as a location selected by, if it’s used: Morgan Bliss

Shame you guys edited "Trooper" it was a fast moving lava moon orbiting an ice planet - where the planet actually orbited you could see it was breaking up the ice around its perimeter. It was so far to this date the only realistic and also unique thing I've spotted in the game that "surprised me". Everything else is pretty expected. Its orbital period was like a few minutes back then and now its days. Sigh

PHROEA PLOE SO-Z E5374 and the PHROEA PLOE SO-Z E5374 A belt

A small black hole in a planetary nebulae in the central area and an icy belt illuminated only by the nebulae, for a long range travel at ~20.000 LY, you can get very close of the horizon event in and out of SC.

I don't have any sights from the ground since it's a location I've found before Horizons release but here is Dumbooe RC-C d4312, it's right on the edge of a planetary nebula near the core and has few planets you can land on and an Earth like!

(I hope xbox players can suggest places - if so) You need to set Sol as a tourist destination, a fly by of Earth and is almost a necessity for a tourist and a Sol tour of all the planets (some at least) show people the origins of the Human race! CMDR Axanar IX (Xbox gamertag)

(I tried to add an Image but its keeps stating Invalid file so I can't my laptop isn't very good anyway. But e all know how beautiful Earth is! And its accompanying planetary bodies!)
