You can't use Immersion as an excuse in one case, and then dismiss it in another.

On top of which: that's utter nonsense. Immersion's not a binary state that's affected exactly the same way for everyone. It's perfectly possible to have your immersion broken by telepresence but not by, say, instant ship transfers. Or the other way round. Or by both. Or by neither.

In regards to the hair thing and no fair, where do you draw the line?
Turbans?
Hijabs?
Kippah?
Tattoos on the scalp?
Giant squirrels?
Eye patch?
Can I have a long flowing beard with all my adornments?
Glitter beard?
Man bun?
Flaming skull head?
Short answer. NO. I can't. So I simply get over it. I work with what was generously provided by frontier and get over it.

I still wish they added Salt as a commodity, I'd have alot of fun hemorrhaging it at CG stations. In all seriousness though the hair thing makes sense for both technicality AND for lore. Admittedly I would love to read some DD forums complaining how long hair was getting some spaced due to it obstructing their vision at critical moments.

The bottom line is that it would be a lot of effort for FD to implement long hair properly and lore/immersion leans on the side of not implementing it at all........easy choice for FD, but the resulting salt eruption on the forums is entertaining to watch.

Yes, it's perfectly possible to just inconsistently apply expectations for a defined universe and expect them to be followed by the developer, knowing in which cases immersion is and isn't important to every single person.
Are you explaining that immersion is subjective? Because that is not a revelation. That only supports what I said.

I was just thinking. Now that you can get the camera right up to the ship, I can finally fly the Annie from the observation deck. I will greatly enjoy pseudo-waking around my ship, as well.
