Patch Notes Update 2.3 The Commanders - Changelog

Can't play the game anymore after update. When in cabin trying to look around once I stop the mouse, view keeps going for a bit. It creates this stupid motion effect, which gives me motion sickness and headache :/
That, and now I feel like I'm playing on 10 year old PC with stuttery entries into systems and blurry star textures which pop several times before finally loading. And my character disapears when I jump into FSD space.

P.S. when in cabin I am getting 220-280fps, yet feels like less than 30 :/

Have the same problem and I can't play the game anymore unless I'm ok with a headache for a few hours. I really hope this will get fixed soon.

The small navigational menu in both the Galaxy Map and System Map turns invisible (but still works) after application of a Stage 3 FSD Boost to get back home after modifying a Hauler in Deciat. In addition, Stage 3 FSD Boost Route-Plotting is now always enabled by default when opening the map... without a Stage 3 FSD Boost being activated.

Update: Switching ships fixed the Stage 3 FSD Boost Route-Plotting always being enabled by default when opening the map problem.

It seems like just bad debugging which can be corrected by a patch or 2. Teething pains after a major patch is by no mean uncommon, even companies like Microsoft suffer it, their latest patch created several problems as well. It's in the 'expected' category. Having said all that, I am fully surprised there are so MANY bugs in the release of the patch.

Ofcourse software has its bugs and they will be resolved.
But here from the moment they started a couple of weeks ago with updating problems came along.
Just go back and think about it.
when you go to the bug reports go to the last page you will see that its post-10-04 thats when the great bom dropped on us.
i dont wanna be a wise guy but just by looking at the beta updates before 10-04 i already predicted that this was going to happen.
dont know how many dutch programmers/coders are working on this but they should cut down on the smoke and concentrate on the work.

anyway i will give it a go again see if something has improved over the last hours and prey/hope that 4K is working again

I think you are playing on 4K the small menu only works on HD i have the same problem :S

As I said, I think it worked before. I played for hours after I noticed it and jumped to various systems before that... It disappeared and won't come back.

Still, what a seriously weird bug.

The patch was in beta for 5 weeks and maybe more,
There was 6 beta versions,
And at some point they finally decided to release it
And as a dev i understand, they did plenty of changes, and fixed plenty of bugs
But there are bugs that cannot be discovered before going live
This is a necessary step
Now that they have far more feedback that they had in the beta,
They will probably release fixes and everything will be ok
And everyone must be aware that this game is huge
Except star citizen that is anyway still in alpha after 6 years and x10 more Budget ... (Epic fail)
Elite is the space sim we all wanted, but this game is badly huge and require far more work that everyone of us imagine, so the best thing we can do , is to support, give feedbacks, and ideas
So frontier and us help evolve this game
Because at the end of the day, we all want that the community and the company, we all are in the same boat
In my opinion and the way i see it, the current stage of the multicrew is the sceleton of something big that will grow over time, like more roles and features, i would not be surprised if the see one more seat added in the big 3,
Maybe new srv with multiple seats as well
So guys complaining will help no one,
what will help is create topic about the issues,
create topics about new ideas

i am sorry m8 but i do not agree i am not getting payed and its not up to me to create or alter the game.
I am a enduser in this case and bought the game to play not to be sitting arround and playing a game that was working fine until some brain thought it needed a update and many changes.

I bought the game so i can and may expect something from it for instance that it works for like 99.99%
done a few bug reports but wil never ever do that again all reports are ignored and never answered or reported as fixt
all problems started when they changed the massacre and skimmer missions that was one of the first beta updates that created problems

and come on man you dont have to be educated to see that there is something very very wrong in the management and coding
and for thoise who dont see just go to the bug reports and remember this update was on the 10th of april now go look at the dates

Is there a How To on setting up turrets for Multi Crew or is it just broken. We spent 2 hours trying to get it to work yesterday. Really shouldnt have to do this. If its broken, dont release it.

Problem is, most of the bugs in live were in beta. That is why so many beta testers are cranky.

The thing is, many of the "beta testers" took being a beta tester seriously, and rooted out a huge number of bugs, reported them, tested them, did all the things that beta testers are supposed to do. We found several game breaking bugs that didn't require some larger number of people to find...they were that glaringly obvious. Unfortunately for all of us, the normal definition of "beta tester" appears not to be the same for FD. What they called beta testers are really nothing more than people who paid for early access to things that get wiped in the end.

I have been a supporter for a long time now. I am a beta backer, and have sunk a lot of time and money into this. Participated in every beta so far. Well, not any more. My good will is all gone. Not going to spend money for early access, and as far as any future updates...I am no longer going to buy them simply as a matter of course. FDev is going to have to earn my money from now on.

You should have understood this a year ago !!!

If not enough players were testing the beta then they did the right thing. I call it Gama testing. As with all software - never install the first release. Wait for three patches of bug fixes to get the good stuff.

Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you
Finally someone who knows

And thats what i am saying do not build on a crapy foundation it will only make things worse.
Ofcourse if i was a beta tester and found bugs and they did not repair it i would say stuff it and move on

so take this loss and make everyone angry but go back to the basic where the game was reasonable and that is a minimum of 3 or 4 beta's backwards

whaaaaaaaaa just got scanned by a ship
they also introduced a new cloacking device hahahahahahahaha
scanned by a ship that is not there

wondefull update i really love this game
where can i buy the new cloacks ???

Look peppi mate, you've made your point, ok? Whingeing about it more is no longer productive. If you find a bug which has not yet been reported, please just report it (properly, ie, screenshots/video and ideally with a way on how to reproduce it) and stop complaining here. Or just go off and play something else until FDev have patched it.

Yes, 2.3 dropped with a lot of bugs. Yes, a lot of those bugs were found by those of us who paid for early access (ie, beta-testers), and more post-release. For whatever reason, not all of the (serious) bugs found by the beta-testers got fixed before release. IMHO, the point of being self-published (as Elite Dangerous is by Frontier Developments) means you have the flexibility to wait until you are ready to release, instead of being forced to release on a particular day by a publisher. In this respect, I think FDev have dropped the ball a little. Spending another week on more fixes surely would not have been worse than the current backlash.

OTOH, a LOT of players are constantly whingeing and screaming for the next release NOW, irrespective of whether it's finished. I don't know whether or not FDev listens to the community as well in order to set a release date, but if so, then that group of players is partially responsible.

Not a happy camper

I came to this game with great expectations of playing a (space sim) uhm the way I wanted to play. It did start with all the goods and so much to do. I found out early on that the only end game for this, was $$$ you needed it for everything you do. Bigger ships, buying goods fitting those ships out to support the job you wanted to do, it all cost $$$. I feel as though I've been chased across the galaxy and into a corner trying to find a decent job with good value for time spent. I've done everything in this game, Mining and Mining missions NERFED, Commodity runs NERFED, Commodity missions NERFED, Slave trade NERFED, Rare goods NERFED, Boom data NERFED, Passenger missions NERFED (in 2 weeks), Bounty missions NERFED, Assassination missions NERFED, Wing NERFED on introduction, the list just goes on, don't know about power-play, just couldn't get my head around it, oh and don't take notice of my profile I am elite trade, elite combat and nearly elite explorer. I have played this game, on and of for nearly 2yrs. FDev YOU have finally laid done the last straw for this camel, you have chased me into the only corner that was left with good returns for time spent CZ. For those of you who don't understand the concept of mission stacking, stay ignorant you will no longer have to worry about it. For those of us that do understand what we have lost commiserations to you's all. FDev You have taken all that was and all that will ever be from this game for me. A little message to all the nay-Sayers, you are just another number Fdev are not listening to, good luck and goodbye.

Nope i am not gonna report any bugs anymore
No answers, No solution, No respect so no never ever again i will report anything until respect is showed towards players

Euh dropped the ball a litle bit ?? are you out of sense m8 they didn't drop the ball the let it explode big time
Euh for what ever reason ?? they wanted this multiscrew online and they wanted to stop mission stacking not tomorrow but yesterday and thats where they made the mistake

And why ?? because of the elite player group that is screaming
Not for the new players like me i am not waiting for a new release only those who are finnished playing, seen everything, done everything, got everything and want something new

Bug reports, whingeing and screaming nothing seems to work
But the nice thing about it is when someone wants to buy this game and reads all this maybe he/she is spared all these problems we are having now

The problem with this is that means just not playing the game. We have no way to back out of a bad patch, nor do we have the option to not update and play the old version. I would absolutely love being able to play 2.2 while they fix 2.3, but I don't have that option.

i love you
come here and i will kiss you

I been tellling this al along
well you are a modest player so you dont have real problems in a way
just think about a new player pfffff they wil try the game on theire keyboard first befcore they spend money on the expensive sticks
after a week they will delete the game from theire pc and never come back

Now there are here some guys who feel that i am a xxxxx but they are so selfish thats unbelieveble
And because of that this game will die in time

Its all so simple
server cost $$$$
devs cost $$$$
so just calculate and then you guys maybe will know what i am on about
its not about you grey old elite players you guys just dont care
its about new fresh joung players and that they dont have a change in this game

not enough players means dead to this game
