2017 wishlist

So since my other thread got completely ignored, I'm going to list the improvements I would like to see here:

  • ALLOW PATHS TO AUTO-TUNNEL! Seriously, why isn't this already implemented?
  • Give us an "Ignore Terrain" toggle. I want to be able to build a path without it trying to snap to the nearest terrain it can find. This would also make starting bridges off of cliffs much easier.
  • Give us a "Raise Terrain To Path" option or something similar. I would like to build a path up the side of a mountain without spending hours fiddling with the terrain.
  • A nice workaround to the previous item, and a good improvement to the game in general, is to allow terrain to get right next to paths, rides, and scenery. I don't know if it's a collision box issue or what, but there shouldn't be a 10 foot gap between the terrain and whatever it is I'm trying to surround with terrain.

Also, just about every other improvement listed here would be great to have, in my book (Especially the option to disable collision entirely). Also, to give an example of how picky the paths can be when dealing with terrain, look at this:

This is telling me "Terrain too uneven for path". WHY? Why does the terrain have to be there? Why should the terrain affect the path AT ALL?

Last night I fiddled around with two paths in tight spaces and dealt with what your picture shows for a good 30 minutes before I could complete the pathing the way I wanted to. It was incredibly frustrating. +1 to all of your suggestions

Tracked Rides (not coasters): An option raise or lower terrain to meet the height of the track. This feature was implemented in the Trainz series of games when building tracks. I am sure it can be done for Planet Coaster.
Paths: Auto tunneling option, alternative path laying too similar to laying tracked rides with the same ability to raise or lower terrain to meet the height of the path.
Flat Rides: An auto terrain flattening option. this was done successfully before.

+1 to all of these! It would be great to be able to build rides into the terrain without having to constantly switch between the track editor and the terrain editor.

- Schwarzkopf Looping & Family Coasters
- DUELLING START (SYNC STATIONS)
- SHUTTLE MODE (Shuttle coasters, Point-to-point monorails etc.)
- REVERSE START MODE (FOR BOOMERANG TYPE RIDES)

Yes! Thanks for sharing that tidbit. I did not know that either. Hiding/ minimizing the HUD is a time saver!

1. Bumper Boats
2. Jet Boating
3. Swimming pools
4. Swimming pool hydro slides and diving boards
5. Spas

Maybe they'll bring out a water expansion pack. Rainbows End in Auckland NZ has bumper boats. Sydney has jet boating. I would love this game to have swimming pools and slides. I feel many on here have played RCT3. Turn your creations in this game into a Fun Park (or Amusement/theme park).

6. Gondolas/chairlift, for transport ride. Sydney's Taronga Zoo, and New Zealand's Mt. Ruapehu has chairlift rides.

7. Since in this game, we can freely create and change our avatar - be able to play our avatar in game! switch to 3rd person or 1st person view. Zoo Tycoon for Xbox One (from Frontier) you can customize your avatar and play him/her in the game.

Zoo/safari addon - Jungle cruise boats, a paddle steamer that takes guests and cable car/gondola/sky bucket transport/ride.
Also, a scenic railway roller coaster like the oldest running coaster in the world in Melbourne Australia - The Scenic Railway - it's amazing!! At Luna Park . . .

I have really only small things, I would wish that there are small booths where you can throw tins or duck fishing etc, escalators, elevator, signs for the queue, and maybe small beamer with eye.

These are all gonna be coaster construction related:

1. Instantaneous heatmap prediction
2. Proper G-force indicators
3. Friction rebalance or a friction setting
4. Heartline overlays and/or heartline-centered editing
5. Additional snapping angles (1 degree, 2.5 degrees, 5 degrees and so on)
6. A fix to this issue
7. The ability to subdivide track segments
8. The least bit of attention to issues raised in the forum by people who know how coaster engineering works (like the two above)

I posted some of these in another thread; but I would like to see:

1. The ability to place supports on rides (instead of just being able to remove them).
2. Transfer tracks
3. tables and chairs that can actually be used.
4. More in depth management options.
5. More shops and stalls (because I'm a sucker for that XD).
6. "photo track" for roller coasters so that pictures can be taken during the ride.
7. signs that can be placed in queues to tell the peeps how long the wait will be. (most if not all parks have these.)

1. Invisible objects or shapes that guests won't walk through, so that we can stop them walking through scenery.
2. Ability to specify that guests will avoid the outer 0.x metres of any path, to stop them intersecting railing and scenery.
3. Reversing sections of track, like Expedition Everest.
4. Adjustable queue layouts, like, well, every queue on every ride ever.
5. Tables and chairs that guests use.

REVERSIBLE SECTIONS LIKE EXPEDITION EVEREST - YES - and perhaps an Expedition planet coaster like train with engine car at the back too . . .

ALSO,
- Jungle cruise boats,
- Paddle steamer,
- Trams like Disneyland California Adventure RED TRAMS,
- People moves on smaller tracks (maglev, linear induction) like Disneyland CA had - so they can be moved into tight congestion places and have tight and twisty tracks to move people out of these areas. Would be great!
If the covered people mover looked retro and steampunk - like original Disneyland model, it would fit right into the Western, scifi and other building pieces.l

The ingame content is of really great quality and because of the custom blueprints people create the content is endless.
Take a look at the workshop (and your own creations) and you can only agree with me.

I also like that all content is created of ingame pieces so the quality of the blueprints, wether it's work from a beginner or an expert is consistent and match the same quality.

That said there is a lot of content missing in the current toolset I really would like to see it added. For example:

- Basic rounded windows and doors
- Bigger windows and window deco like curtains etc
- Smaller basic shapes. The smallest basic shapes are almost half the size of an ingame visitor so way to big to create really advanced / detailed content
- All kind of smaller, taller and thinner beams. I mention wood, stone, metal, rope etc.
- All kind of flowers / bushes / better hedges and eventually animals
- Non sci fi actors to be able to add to custom buildings
- Collection of thinner, circled / rounded beams
- Collection of cloth material in basic shapes (like nets, curtains and to make clothes for models)
- Collection of cars, carparts and or wheels

This list will make it possible to make more detailed models like the ingame standard content as the ship and the locomotive for example. They use these kind of shapes but are not seperately available to the player / creator.

To expand the possibilities even futher for creation of custom content I would love to see the following:

- Make grid option for every ingame object optional
- Make grid and / or snap option to all axis and make rotation possible for all objects at all angles.
- Support a selection of "mask" textures to add to standard shapes to create stone / metal / wood / cloth etc for standard shapes.
- Support option to set your own (animated) image / text to an object.
- Implement a clip / cut option to delete part of an object / blueprint.
- Make an option to add a blueprint to another blueprint
- Make an option to group objects and save them as a group within a blueprint
- And last but not least a mirror and / or scale / size option for blueprints and objects
- Make an editor mode instead of Sandbox where you can choose to have no visitors and / or day night cycle while running the game instead of pausing.
- Make it possible to select to save landscape and / or paths to blueprints.

Finally I want to make a suggestion:

- Make it possible to create a triggered event for every object and or blueprint. For example set movement axis and or range for an object and or blueprint and save it as a trigger. That way we can make the parks come more to live and can make millions of extra objects like moving doors, moving cars / trains, clocks etc etc etc

- Eventually all of above combined with a save as ride option to make elevators, boats etc that really moves visitors from one place to another.

Well, game is already the game of my dreams from a builders perspective and all above are just friendly suggestions which can expand this dream futher.

Thank you for the game and keep up the good work!
