2017 wishlist

First person roaming as a guest in our own parks, and the ability to visit other parks in first person as a guest.

It's already a hidden feature type tegidcam into your scenery search bar and then you will enter first person mode this feature might be upgraded in the April update press escape to exit the scenery list and then you can walk around like a guest and press escape again to get out of tegidcam

I think it would be really nice if we were able to change or disable the music of shops. I'm not saying the music that is playing in shops right now isn't good, but it would be nice if we could customize it as well (there's a very specific song I'd like to add in my park but I wasn't able to (it's an Ocarina of Time park and I'd like to add the OoT shop theme if anyone is curious [wink]))

Rides
- Intamin drop tower
- More flexible Log Flume
- River Rapids with a rounded station

Coasters Types
- Schwarzkopf https://rcdb.com/197.htm#p=2995
- Vekoma SLC https://rcdb.com/1322.htm#p=54165
- Zierer Tivoli https://rcdb.com/1479.htm#p=26099
- B&M Sitting Coaster https://rcdb.com/94.htm#p=172

Coaster building
- Improve smooth tool (impossible to smooth small sections)
- optional catwalk on BOTH sides of the track (left and right)
- If a section is selected, we could rotate (like in-game elements), move in X,Y,Z (today is only possible move X (left, right) and Y (up,down) )

Not sure if it has been said before, but I want to add this to show interest.

Multidimensional flat rides. Simulators. Rides like Indiana Jobes and Dinosaur. Spider-Man and Transformers. Kuka robotic arm rides like forbidden Journey.

I find myself interested in building these types of experiences.

5. Water Rides like Swanboats or something that you can place on the water
6. Go Karts
7. Playgrounds!!!
8. More themes, like a spooky theme, celtic, mexican, jurrassic, maya, vintage fairground
9. generic versions of all flatrides that are already in the game
10. all terrain brushes (e.g. snow, desert..) available on all maps

Since this is just a wishlist,

I would like lights that spin at different speeds and be color changed and strobe lights that can be triggered (vs. having to setup a light with multiple triggers.

Projectors that can be tied to external movies/animations.

The ability to use terrain textures in any park. I know there are reasons for not allowing this due to Frame rates hits but I'm willing to sacrifice a few frames...lol!

More animations...(of course). I'm not saying we don't have enough. I love the ones we have.

Came across this recently posted video from the Florida State Fair. The first 12 minutes or so is focused on the rides. There are rides here that I've never seen before. This one fair has at least 5 tall swinging rides, multiple versions of some other flat rides and a great assortment of unique kiddie rides.

Watching this video will underscore the potential and longevity of Planet Coaster. There are so many possibilities. I'm guessing that there were about 25 rides shown and I think we have maybe 5 or 6 of them in PC.

My list to an already great game :)

- Bushes, trees and flowerbeds with BIG recolorable flowers (similar like in The Sims)

- Camera spots, great place and view areas for guests to take photos and enjoy the view of the park. Point and react to adventure at a ride or at lovely view from that point. (like in RCT3)

- Waterfalls

- Path Auto Tunnel

- River Rapids with a rounded station

- Elder guests (some with walking sticks) who like to stroll around the garden area and boring parks (like in RCT3)

- Restaurants, Tables & chairs

- Building path and fence with a drag option (similar to The Sims building style)

-Employees should not quit in sandbox.

- On-ride photo, with a booth/shop to sell the pictures.

- Observation tower

- A haunted house (flat ride)

- Boats

- Chairlift

- the security guards

- And at last actual water with fishes and underwater glass tunnels

My #1 wish is to have competition against other parks (fight to interest people to come in your park).

My #2 wish is a true career mode where we start small in a carnival and manage bigger parks.

If the 2 above make it to the game, it would really add to the experience. After this, there's a lot of small things that would be great to have:

- having to deal with staff sickness
- more interesting objectives (time-limited for example)
- ability to choose how long in real-life last a day/week/month
- more information about impact of changes (example what is the impact to hire more mechanics, what impact if I choose 30 minutes inspection instead of 10 minutes, etc.)
- having to buy land part
- UGC
- weather
- seasonal events

After having these above, expansion could be great:
- more water rides, pools, etc.
- parades and fireworks/laser/water mixmaster
- hotels

I would like to see a racing carousel like Cedar Downs Derby Racer.

First, before I post my very long wish list, let me say to the developers that I truly love, love, love this game. It's because I love it so much (and I spent most of my career as a SW Project Manager) that I see much potential and room for improvement. So, without further ado and in no particular order, my wish list:
  1. More building stuff. Always more building stuff. We're especially lacking in statues right now and though there's a lot of pirate themed stuff, we could use more and differently themed stuff. Some generic statues and bases and other more versatile, non-themed items would be good as well.
  2. Restaurant tables and chairs and picnic tables and chairs that peeps can actually use.
  3. Ability to build diagonal walls. Even better, allow full movement in any direction of *all* building pieces.
  4. Better/easier alignment capabilities when building things. RTC3 was severely limited by the grid system, so I really appreciate the flexibility here. At the same time, I spend sooo much time trying to get stuff lined up. There has to be an easier way while still allowing the flexibility.
  5. Ability to change the colors of all building design pieces, roofs, columns... everything. Same with scenery items. There isn't much of anything we designers shouldn't be able to recolor.
  6. Ability to combine blueprints. There are a lot of blueprints I make that I want to reuse in other blueprints. Example: If I have a blueprint of a table and chairs set I've created and I'm building a new restaurant, I don't want to have to recreate the same table and chairs set over and over again. I should just be able to add it from my blueprints just as I can add other scenery elements. I should also be able to take a part of a blueprint and save it separately from the rest. IOW, and going off the same example, if I create a restaurant and while doing so, create an awesome table and chairs set, I want to be able to save that table and chairs set as a separate blueprint for reuse later.
  7. Ability to take a created piece of artwork or whatever else that may have multiple pieces and select it all and combine it making it into one object/building.
  8. All flower boxes, hanging flowers, planters, etc. moved to a flower specific location and more options here as well.
  9. More variety in lights and the ability to change the colors of all of them.
  10. Ability to see a subterranean view.
  11. Ability to change the end of a queue path (where no peeps are located) without the ride closing down and all peeps disappearing from the queue. We used to be able to pause RTC3, change parts of paths with no peeps, take it off pause, and the peeps would stay where they are. I'd like that feature, especially since working with the main paths in this game is finicky and any changes to them often requires you to change the end of queue lines as well.
  12. Ability to add more trains to a transport ride without having the ride shut down and having to retest it.
  13. Ability for a transport ride to make money (I'm losing a ton on my Connie Express and I have lots of riders...this may be a bug)
  14. Ability to add more cars to transport rides and coaster rides. Supposedly, there are ways to do this with block breaks on roller coasters. But, I've had incredible difficulty getting that feature to work even after watching tutorials on it. On transport rides, it should be nothing more than the click of a button to increase or decrease the number of cars per train, yet I can't find this basic feature anywhere.
  15. When I click on a section of a rail or coaster track and then click "design," please, please, please keep the camera at the location I clicked and stop sending me all the way back to the station.
  16. Ability to shut off/disable the horrible ride prestige "feature." Sorry guys, but this "feature" is a pretty big fail, IMO.
  17. Stop peeps bunching up in confusion at the end of full queue lines. In general, work on fixing the algorithms anytime lots of peeps end up in one area. Right now, the game is having a hard time with this.
  18. Allow priority queue entrances to begin from the main path. This thing with having to go off the main queue line is very limiting to how we can construct and scene our queue lines, IMO.
  19. In general, fix much of the glitchy behavior with priority queues.
  20. Allow the ability to see how many people are in a queue and on a ride at any given time. We should be able to view this info when looking at a specific ride and also in the park management screens.
  21. Allow the information booth to offer park maps and maybe sunscreen. Basically, make it useful. Right now, it seems most peeps have little use for info booths.
  22. Allow guests to board rides immidiately after other guests depart the ride. We should not have to wait until the departing guests completely leave the ride platform. This is super annoying to me and really has a significant limiting effect on ride turn over time and on where I can place queue exits.
  23. Ability to sort by the different columns in the management areas. Surprised the game was released without this most basic of features, if I'm being honest.
  24. On the shop management screen, provide a link to the employee for that shop. I shouldn't have to click the button to view the shop and get flown half way across the park, only to then have to click on the employee info for that shop. Basically, the management screens need better, and more flexible navigation, especially between personnel and the shops they run, but even with mechanics and janitors. I shouldn't have to fly to them to get information on them.
  25. Teens in my park constantly want more food and drink. But, if I put more food and drink shops down, they close, seemingly due to lack of business. Wouod like to see this corrected/better balanced, or if it's that food/drink shops are needed in a specific area, have some kind of map that shows us where they're needed.
  26. Finally, and this may be a graphics card problem on my end, but if there is a way to eliminate the very heavy pixilation in shadowed areas, I would be most appreciative.

Lastly, a big thank you to the developers for all they've done on this game. I thought RTC3 was the last amusement park sim I'dever see, so I can't possibly express my appreciation enough to the Frontier team. I look forward to the game improving with future updates.

I REALLY agree with numbers 11, 15, 21, and 22. I also absolutely LOVE this game and I, like yourself, really believe that this game could go from "Wow" to "Incredible" with some fairly simples tweaks and additions. :)

1. I really like the planet coaster theme, but I am missing some things in it. More metal roofs, for example flat with the rounded corner or just sloped ones in 1 or 2 m slopes.
2. I also really would like for the ride signs the be 'the same', some signs light up in the night, some don't and require a lamp. I would like this to be either of them for all the signs.
3. Merging blueprints - I made some smaller bp I want to use in other buildings, but I can only place them as a separate building instead of combining them.
4. Saving paths with the blueprints - enough said about this
5. Some classic RCT rides: maze, slide, haunted house etc
6. Loading and unloading peeps at the same time.

( I can't edit my post, so sorry for dubble posting)
I forgot some things xD
7. Add a tag for ride skins in game. I find it very annoying everyone tags it different.
8. A way to organize our blueprints. It gets a bit clogged up in the tab.
9. Info booths selling maps.
10. Be able to toggle the grid on for the entire ppark. As a former RCT player I found the total freedom of gridless to difficult to cope with. Besides that, I still like making my builings line properly up but it is not the easiest thing to do imo.
11. Blueprints that 'remember' the correct height to be placed. Saves time 'shifting' around only to find out it is floating.
12. More nature pieces please. I just love my greens and colourful flowers

I know that some of these have probably been mentioned before, but these are things that I would love to see included (Some will be more of a dream than a reality!).

1. Different themed & invisible Entrance Gates.
Right now, we have the generic entrance gates, with the standard posts to support them. However, I think that there should be a variety so that you don't have to worry about theming around them too much. For example, Wooden Support posts with a wooden gate section, or a Square version of what is already there, but have lasers as the gate part for a Sci-Fi theme.

2. Ticket Booth props.
I made a post earlier in the thread about this as it was a spur of the moment idea. Now I have had a chance to sit down and think about it, I think that these would make a great addition in an update further down the line. What I mean here are things like:
- Ticket Price Signs (Large, Medium, Small). Doesn't have to have distinguishable letters on it, maybe just squiggles. Or alternatively, Planco.
- A-Frame advertisement boards. These are the stand alone boards that you often see outside of shops. These can be used at the entrance or outside any shop. The ability to add your own pictures would be pretty cool, but if not, then more variety for the sign would be good. Some Planet Coaster advertising inside Planet Coaster.
- More signage. I am currently using one that is in the shape of a ticket, but it's quite large. So a variety of sizes of the current, and maybe a few more designs. Maybe include the ability to swap textures on one sign.
- Turnstiles. I would love to be able to add turnstiles. Just to watch the peeps buy their tickets, scan them and gain entry to the park. Also...include the clicking noise they make! I love that noise for some reason?!

3. Individual numbers and letters in Small, Medium and Large. These would work in the same way as any other building piece, but would allow much more customisation in the long run. Obviously, fonts would need to be standard every day fonts to start, but the addition of more throughout the updates would be nice.

4. Fences. I know that these are already in the game, but again...More variety. The ones that come attached to the paths after ticking the option, would be nice if you could pick which fence lines up with it. But then I'd also like more fences to place from a custom build stand point.

5. 1/2 & 1/4 width walls. The ability to add 1/2 & 1/4 walls to buildings would be great. I have often found that when building a building around my queue line, that I would have one section of wall be too big and therefore intersect the queue line. Whilst I understand that I can free move the wall piece so that it merges with the piece next too it, I often find that this causes the two pieces to "Glitch" when the camera moves. So thinner walls would therefore alleviate this issue.

6. Roof piece variety & re-colour ability. Often, I use the yellow (?) tiled roof in my parks. My main issue with this, is that when using them on a 1x1 building, the roof doesn't overhang the building and therefore looks like the piece is just sat on top, even when the walls have been built on the inside of the 1x1 square. Just extending the pitch of the roof by 1 or 2 more tiles would add the overhang that just adds that tiny detail. Also, an option to re-colour some of the roof pieces that currently can't be re-coloured.

7. Planters for trees and bushes.
- Variety of textures (Brick, Wood, Metal, Stone etc)
- Variety of shapes (Circle, Square, Octagon, Triangle)
- Variety of sizes (XL, L, M, S)

8. More path and queue line textures. The ones we already have are great, but would love re-colourable ones

9. More path accessories:
- Lamposts
- Benches
- Bins
- Tables (for things like restaurants, picnics etc)

10. More triggered ride doors. At the moment we have the space themed doors that open when triggered. However, more of these to match the other themes would be good. For example - Saloon Doors for the Western theme, Castle doors or Portcullis Gatesfor the Fantasy theme.

11. More generic and themed shop awnings & also shop accessories (similar to the ticket booth props, but shop themed)

12. Park photo ops, and ride photo ops. Add the option for an on ride camera, and then build a small building at the exit for the guests to buy their photos. Also, have photographers roam the parks and take pictures of guests in certain spots, that they then pay for at the Information Kiosk (adds some more usage to the Info Kiosk!)

13. More customisation to the station platform. Whilst I understand that the path dictates the colour of the ride station floor, the ability to give it a different colour or texture would be pretty neat. I would also like to have loading and unloading sections so that you can get peeps off at the back of the station and then they would be able to get loaded onto an empty train towards the front.

14. Pirate Ship flat ride...but generic. I would love to have the Pirate Ship flat ride, but with different themes. A generic one would be good for building in an amusement park, or have a Banana Boat (Shoutout to Mr. Monkey's Banana Boat at Thorpe Park!), or a Space Shuttle for the Space theme.

15. Different train styles but on one track. So, on RCT3, you used to have the ability to use different train types on different styles of track. I think this would be nice to bring into Planet Coaster.

16. Variants of each train style. Add different themes & have blank, re-colourable versions too.

17. More effects! (Fire, Water, Electric, Gas etc)

18. Fireworks. A lot of people loved the ability to add Fireworks shows to their parks in RCT3. I would love to see this return with a bang ( [tongue] )

19. Parades. I know this is a long shot, but I thought that if there was a parade float designed for each mascot, then to set up a parade, you build a start building and an end building, then link the two up via the parade route. Then as the Parade is starting, all mascots disappear from their respectives points in the park, and are then on the floats for the parade. (I hope this makes sense!)

20. Generic versions of the current themed flat rides (Rocktopus, Sky Planes etc)

21. More colourable lighting options, with variants of the light housing/casing & the ability to adjust the light's brightness.

Not a removal, but better balancing of aging
Better game time (too fast)
True park closing with not a fast forward of night or day as the case may be. This would allow the peeps to actually leave the park when closed and enter when open.

Great idea!
