2017 wishlist

We need to be able to control the rides, I feel like it would be really fun and actually add a lot to the game, No Limits does this pretty well.

Loving this game! While building I often find myself wanting/needing these things...

Rides
  • Chair Lift
  • Paddle boats
  • Carnival-style booth games
Props
  • Smaller, more theme-neutral lighting
  • Ropes or chains, similar to the electric wires
  • A wider variety of sound effects for triggered speakers
  • Life-like animal animatronics; farm animals, zoo animals
Building
  • New facilities or shops that attract visitors to "dead" areas of the park, i.e. photo booths, face painting, etc.
  • Tables & chairs
  • Thinner decorative columns & column bases
  • Open doors & windows, transparent windows
  • More decorative shop facades
Staff
  • More entertainers to fit the themes already implemented in game
Terrain
  • Ability to use all terrain paint in any region

Also I really wish there was a better way to align non-build items to a grid. Having to painstakingly rotate planks or trim for example is so tedious and frustrating. Can't wait for what you guys have planned, I'm sure it'll be great!

Plz, pleeeease Frontier I beg you, make the multi-duplication/multi-alignement tools available for props outside of a group.

Just... please. ^^

Hi folks,

I wish that Frontier finally fix all the Bugs and Problems that we have since the Beata - and a few updates. Instead of put new Features - that not working well - in the Game.

Among these things:
  • Were are the missing signs?! You bring new shops and Ride in the Game - that's cool. But, were are the signs for these rides and shops!?
  • Why the old Ride sings are updatet to non-saying and boring standard signs? Please give us the old ones back!
  • Coaster friction seems really high at some coasters!
  • All G-Forces are wrong calculated. You don't consider the force of gravity.
  • The guests are overrunning gift shops after a last update!
  • The guests do not use ATM's. They say "I have not enough money" but don't consider to use the ATM standing 1m away.

I'am sure the list can be continued. But these are the things I wish for 2017 to be fixed. Maybe Frontier will work on that. We even have 343 days till the end of 2017^^

Greetings Sebastian

Would love to see more parts to create modern buildings/architectural buildings.

Thin Panels or beams that are paintable (rotate on all axis)
Metal Roofs that can be colour changed (Blue Metal roof is great but colour limits its use)
Skylights or Glass Roofs (ideally transparent or partially would be nice)
Smaller Art Elements (Smallest size still a little large)
Ropes or Electric Wires
More Lighting Options (Maybe some single low profile spotlights)

Im sure there are more as im going but otherwise am loving creating!! [up]

For 2017 I feel these things will help make the game better.

Multiple stations for coasters with sync option and the ability to launch out of the station. This to me should have been included from the start of development. This is the thing that disappoints me the most. If they added this and never did anything else to the game I would totally cool with it. I automatically assumed that it would be in the game as every good version of RCT had it!

My second wish would be to change the size of the ride entrance from 3m to 4m. Having to connect a 3m wide path to the station entrance and a 4m wide exit path makes symmetry in designing queues tricky. In the pic you can see I can't make a square path at the ride entrance and keep them aligned to the 4m grid of the building. I have to use a curved path to convert it down to 3m. This leaves a gap in the floor and just looks wonky. It would look much nicer if both were able to be square 4m paths.

I'm fairly sure they are aware of the guests path finding issues like getting stuck on slopes, cutting over path boundary's and teleporting back to the main entrance. I feel these bugs should have been fixed well before release. It would appear I have excited my guests so much that the would rather just jump off the side of my staircase to get to the next ride than walk down it normally.

Lastly this may sound morbid but I would like the ability to kill guests. The built in safety of not being able to open untested coasters takes away a lot of fun. I liked in the old RCT games that if your coaster killed people nobody would ride it and you would lose money. We should be able to drown guests too. Killing the guests should have a negative effect on your park rating. It would add another level of depth to the gameplay.

Aside from my list of demands the game is truly beautiful and still entertaining in many ways. I remain hopeful for the future of PC and I'm sure issues will continue to get worked on. (I hope)

Yes yes lol yes

A demand bar for novelty items - hat, souvenirs, balloons. Perhaps such a bar would resolve guest's desire to buy such things over and above more vital demands, especially once it has fulfilled?

And a shopping demand bar could enable demographically inherent buying traits - children would normally desire a balloon, whereas an adult would prefer an ornament.

Obviously it's currently misplaced somewhat, but it does humour me seeing a grown man walking around with a balloon. But at $19 a balloon, I can't grumble.

I really love Planet Coaster! After playing today, I'd love to have these things added to the game because they were missing while trying to build my park realistically:

* Multiple stations for one coaster (one exit-only station, one entry-only station. So the trains get unloaded at one station, then loaded with passengers in the next just like some coasters in real life)

* Bigger variety of doors for coasters/ride (smaller, different style/texture, different way of opening (doors that slide open! either to the side or upwards)

* Souvenir shops that peeps have to walk through after exiting a coaster. It would be especially nice if you could define the theme for the shop (spooky, pirate, fairytale etc.), just like in real parks

* Making paths one way/exit only/staff only with signs and even turnstiles for peeps

The only thing on my wishlist (at the moment) is a railroad crossing for the path. There could even be employees (that do not quit) that act as crossing guards and raise and lower the gates at appropriate times.

+1000 :)

Great game, love the interaction the team has with the community. In addition to all the great ideas in this thread, I would love to see the option to play within a history-based campaign or challenge. I remember this being discussed somewhere, maybe it was on the sub-reddit, but I could not re-find it. The title of "legacy challenge" comes to mind, maybe this could be just an option when starting a challenge park instead of a scenario set, but it would incorporate having research items come into play in realistic chronological order as well as other chronological interests for the park visitors (e.g., shows were a huge draw for theme parks in the 70s where now it is more about the rides [of course shows would have to be added first]; perhaps this should be cyclical or random thinking back to how in the early 1900s shows were also a huge draw and then by the 20s it was rides) and chronological events impacting the economic situation of the "planet" (e.g., railroad tycoon had a simple but effective "world" economy that followed historic chronology and impacted finances; perhaps loans are available or not based on the health of the "economy" as well as impacting interest rates and varying park patron starting money).

I don't see the first part being a that difficult to implement (minus the cyclical or random changes in guest AI interests and the addition of shows and games or other options for guests to be drawn to), it is just a matter of ordering the research queue and that part could even be done by us if there was a scenario or challenge editor. As for the economic variables, if inflation is not involved I see it being a (relatively) simple randomization of multipliers linked with event texts similar to the challenges that come up in challenge mode (e.g., "economic strength is growing on planet coaster" linked with a 1.2 [or more] multiplier of guest starting money). I think this would increase the management portion of the game without completely overhauling what is already present. Keep up the great work developers, I look forward to what you have in store for us! [up]

Synchronizing dispatch between two or more stations, for proper racing coasters.

45-degree walls for buildings.

On-ride photo, with a booth/shop to sell the pictures.

One-way paths.

Let us colorize any building component.

Let us pop balloons by clicking on them. [big grin]

And of course, more coaster types to recreate classic coasters, more building shapes, and all the good stuff you've been bringing us!

This is on my wishlist.

Already in the game.
-The normal burger sign with the proper texture instead of the neon burger one that is to much moved to the right.
-There are a number of ride signs that say LIT behind it. For example the whirley rig and the rocktopus. But they do not light up. Make them light up or remove the lit from the name
-Remember the filter setting when you leave the building menu

Scenery
-More triggerable doors. (For example wooden ones)
-None neon editable signs. (so the same shapes but not lit just like the western ones)
-RCT3 style billboards where you can upload your own picture/gif
-More Acient Rome/Egypt/Greek stuff.
-More effects and the option to change colors. So you can have for example Blue fire or yellow lasers.
-Pizza Pen and Pipshot signs
Rides
-Be able to change coaster cars to different ones.
-Be able to change colors to seperate cars/ride car (just like Roller Coaster Tycoon 1/2)
-A spiral slide
-A haunted house (flat ride)
-3D Cinema
-Observation tower

Shops/Facilities
-More gift shops (like shirts, hand items like gloves)
-Information booth that also sells maps and umbrellas

Staff
-Ride tickets booth when the price is at 0,- no person will be standing near the entry
-Able to change colors for your employees. Like orange vendors and red mechanics.

This is my whislist for 2017:

Rides:
- A trackless ride system by EFT-Rides (like Mystic Manor)
- A free fall like tower of terror.
- A wooden rollercoaster from Great coaster international

Scenery:
- Spooky

I like to see too that we can add a pre-show before the guests enter a ride.

There are a few important things which I would like to see added to the game.

1) Synchronized Coasters: It is always fun and challenging to create racing coasters but currently there is no way to do this. Two or more different coaster stations need to be able to depart at precisely the same time. It would also be good to be able to synchronize block brakes on different tracks.

2) Separate Exit station: Many coasters have a boarding platform and a exit platform with a small section of track between which passengers don't ride on. This allows for a train to be deboarding while another boards saving time and looking awesome.

3) Multiple Coaster Stations: Similar to no.2 I would like to be able to place multiple stations on a coaster allowing the freedom of using coasters as transport rides.

4) Passenger seating animation: Please make the riders board and deboard coasters and rides proporly rather than glitching in and out of their seats.

5) Dynamic Water: Keep the current water tool as it works for some aspects of the game, however add a dynamic water option.

6) Waterfalls: Please add actual waterfalls. using the water jets is tedious and does not look quite right.

7) Inverted hydraulic launch coaster.

8) Catch car return speed: please make this a functioning tool as it is a good idea. I like to make forward/reverse tracks for the hydraulic launch coaster where it launches through a track then up a hill which it does not make it over, then rolls backwards through the track and into the station. Working catch car return would help for this.

9) Employees should not quit in sandbox.

10) more then 7 feet for bank off-set)

11) more banking options: Currently when a train banks the track pivots from a center point in the track. Please add a tool which would change where this center point was. For example when turning I would like to bank by raising the elevation of one side of the track without the other side dipping. Just add this as an option under track tools. :)

12) Path Auto Tunnel. Essentially just make the auto tunnel tool work for paths and cues.

13) Chair lifts/Cable Cars: Add alpine chairlifts as transport rides. This would help with theaming and add character to the park.

14) Special events in challenge mode: Coaster crash or injured guest causes people to leave the park or damage park rating. In general add events which would bring surprises and challenges to the game.

15) Alpine Coaster & Bobsled Coaster

16) More dynamic coaster music with music variation depending on the speed of the coaster.

17) Sling shot ride.

18) More water rides and car types.

19) Haunted house ride style coaster cars and track (track ride).

20) Put water rides under coasters not track rides, it should be a subsection of coasters.

21) Track rides should be able to be transport rides.

22) Animated animals which will stay within draw able fences.

23) Fence tool like path tool.

24) More items and rides for all existing themes.

25) Volcano flat ride: Flat rides which spin and push guests up against the walls. (Not my video): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TT160TIrGkc

26) Disco Flat Ride: sort of like genie: (Not my video): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=moMrbIdR2mY

27) Smaller inverted coasters for more compact parks. (Not my video): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBbUiUaGn2o

28) Tree Variation.

29) Terrain Sculpted Blueprints.

30) Water which interacts with scenery: This way you could make a small hole with rocks and put water between the rocks. Or you could put water within the walls of buildings.

Thanks, I hope that these suggestions will be implemented. :)

Something I've always wanted to do with RCT3. And it expands upon the scenario editor.

Let's say I want to pretend that my custom scenario starts in the year 1975...
I would accomplish this by only having rides and coasters that were available at that time.
Zipper, Tilt-A-Whirl, Tea Cups, Log Ride, etc.
As time progresses, more rides and coasters become available for research, but only if a certain criteria is met.

Examples:
The Wooden & Mine Train coasters are available at the start of the scenario.
The American Arrow becomes available for research in year 2 - (1976)
The Inverted Coaster becomes available for research in year 18 - (1992)
The Hybrid Coaster becomes available for research in year 37 - (2011)

No sci-fi scenery till the late 70's, no ATMs till the mid 80's, etc.
So not only could I build my dream park from scratch, I could make it "historically accurate", too.

Also I didn't check if that's already been said or not (if so, really sorry) :

I have the feeling that most special effects appear and react oddly with spotlights when there is no sunlight to light up the area.

- Water (all kinds)
- Bubbles
- Fog/smoke
- ...

All these things look great by day when actual sunlight spreads around but sundenly look terrible (too transparent/dark) when no sunlight reach the area even though they are lighted up by an artificial light .

And someday, somehow, we've all been partying in some cheap, weird looking overly-smoked club lost in Cochabamba, Bolivia between a dude you barely know since 2h and a pony, we know how spotlights look on smoke.

Don't we ?
