5 Million Bounty

According to my Bulletin Board, the Bounty is still listed as available. Oh and I saw my first F63 Condor today. :)

Yes i saw this also, i really think all Bounties need to be reset to 0 after a death or Paid off if killed in the controlling system, as this has Exploit written all over it.

So...

This was my bounty.

Here's the full story.

This dude attacked me in front of a station...Forget the fact that the station didn't help at all, despite my allied status with it.

I distance myself from the station and engage. He is not even a worthy target. I strip his shields in moments, bring down his power plant down to like 10% with his hull down to 20% or so. I then choose (like an idiot) to clip him with my wing by ramming him. I assign full pips to shields...Mind you I have more than 2 rings left...and I crash into him with my wing. The impact kills me, despite the fact that his ship weighs 80 T while mine weighs 600. Despite the fact that he was at 20% and I was at 100%. Despite the fact that I had shields and he did not.

What the hell, FD?

Buhahahahaha

Serves you right.

Well done Commander, also.. nice Dank bounty on Empire ;)

I "took down" a player Viper in a similar way with my Eagle, He rammed me with no shields and 55% Hull(I had full shields), only to hit one of my "wings" and proceed to blow himself up, Little did he knew I had A3 shields.

While this issue isn't that good to hear, as I am a Clipper pilot, too, I think it might be explained as a working game mechanic, too.

How I see it: Every ship has a given hull integrity per square meter and it in fact basically isn't related to mass, but only to surface area. I mean, bigger ship's hull can never be as compact and therefore sturdy impact-wise.

If any of you played Bulletstorm, you know how to wreck much bigger ship. :D (Or Star Wars. Poor A-Wing pilot)

Of course, in this particular case, I'd rather see the Clipper just torn the wing off, than "just exploded" which looks kind of lame.
But the fact that smaller ship can be like a "bullet" for bigger ship isn't that incomprehensible and hard to accept, for me.

("The impact kills me, despite the fact that his ship weighs 80 T while mine weighs 600"-- Redan)
.

I see it this way;

My 1 tonne car v a dense 2gram stone, stone hits windscreen and smashes it. Stone is undamaged. If my windscreen was a vital part like a fuel filled wing then BOOM

My Cobra has a max mass of 300+ tonnes, It is currently 291 tonnes RAMMING SPEED

the game is not broken QED

There's a degree of randomness in the collision damage. I've bounced off asteroids at full boost with no damage and clipped a sidewinder in my armoured cobra with full shields and died instantly. I think there's a bit of a twenty sided dice roll going on, and probably rightly so... some people come of the road at 100mph hit a tree and walk away, others fall off a bicycle at 5mph and sustain fatal head injuries. Accident outcomes should be unpredictable to a degree.

Regardless of what I deserve, I choose to play the game as I see fit. I've had this bounty for eons now. The last updated bounty list was from ages ago up until Jan 22 brought the daily updated lists again with patch 1.06.

Think about it for a moment - I've had that bounty since then and for this long and yet nobody has claimed it before...Why do you think that is?

It's not about being salty. I lost 3 million credits in the crash and I can afford to lose my ship 600 times over. That's how I choose to make my path in the galaxy, and that's how I will play and enjoy the game. The 5 million credit bounty took a bit of effort, but rest assured I'll be back on that list before you know it. I will build up a bounty again off of the remains of dead traders and stupid bounty hunters until one day a worthy adversary comes to claim it.

The problem for me is that this is such a blatantly dumb glitch that it does get a little frustrating. It's all fine that the newbie got a nice boost and all, but I've ticketed and posted about the Clipper Mass Lock issue forever now, ever since I got the ship over a month ago. I was responded to by the devs that the fix would come in 1.1 but I didn't think it also extended to collisions...that's just ridiculous.

In any case, look for me again on the bounty list, Commanders. Next time you won't be having a glitch to hide behind.

Edit: I did not have to pay the bounty as I was not in Federation Jurisdiction when I re spawned.

I live by the sea, I recon the sea is less salty than this post Rofl.

You know what would have been nice? If the victim had just come on here and congratulated the OP on his good luck. But oh no. Boohoo the game is broken....

I ran into an NPC Imperial Clipper in my Python once and it took down 2 layers of shielding from my ship. The Clipper's shields didn't budge. *shrug* I've also taken a Clipper from full shielding to 0% Hull by ramming using the same ship. I can't make heads or tails of the ramming system... as always 4 PIPS to SYS.

This. I've tested the clipper for pirating and it's bugs make it useless currently so back in the cobra for now. It didn't take me long to figure out that the only way to run is with 4 to SYS when collissions are possible... OP knew well the bug, has ticketed and been responded to about the bug already, what left is there to whine about losing? Don't blame the game, the dev's, or the bug you already knew about. Blame yourself.

I've rammed full speed into a python heading at me and survived, albeit barely. As he said 4 in to SYS if ramming or being rammed.

Didn't Sandro say that you don't have to pay it anyway if it's claimed by a CMDR? A pretty weird mechanic :(

Currently if killed by a CMDR it is gone. If you respawn in a station you have fines in you do still pay those out of pocket if killed by a CMDR, and any other type of death you pay both bounty and fine if respawned in stations you owe them to (otherwise they go dormant). Soon (tm) your bounty amount will turn into a "legacy fine" if killed by a CMDR who claims your bounty which will follow you forever until you are killed and respawn in a station run by the faction you have the legacy fine with, which you will then have to pay to respawn. I am up to 40 insurance claims now, many by CMDR's, many in buggy ways but it is the nature of the game!

Hi!

As i happened to have a few run-ins with Redan i must say: his "honest Pirate game" is fitting my idea of the game LOADS more than the griefers that are killing for fun.
That said: for being so stupid to attempt a nudge in a know paper-thin clipper you deserve getting blown up, Redan ;-)

just my two cents, Michael.

P.S: kudos to the OP for admitting he was totally outclassed!

Oh... that sounds like a bug..
Would suggest to place a ticket.

+1

Getting ramed is bad.
Making credits in solo mode and griefing traders and noobs online is good.

Grats to the OP

Some video footage of another pilot being naughty for you Redan (add to your ticket ?)

Skip to the end and watch the 99% hull shields full viper ram a half dead cobra ... you can guess the ending ;)

Hi!

THAT is the kind of commander i want to meet ingame. it would be a personal satisfaction to send him to oblivion. As often as i can. Scum like this has no place in ED.
and the "grettings from the Federation" is somethin he can shove. Griefing as clear as a bell. Sadly he took on pilots that didnt know how to fight. Faoff and deselect
target and those chaffs and his imaginary skills are a joke.

He is the kind of pilot that will push my buttons to go into a Killing spree, regardless of the 3.x million rebuy of my trading outfit python.
Thinking of it: I once got interdicted by a player in a viper with exactly the same lame text... in my T7. Bad idea. IIRC he fled with 15% hull left.
Maybe that was the same guy?

Michael.
