I love that you think this justifies broken game mechanics. How someone chooses to play the game is their own decision. It's not unreasonable for them to expect the fundamental mechanics to work.
Whoever said anything about justifying anything broken? I'm giving people sensible advice on how to approach gaming and mitigate the issues that always arise. This doesn't absolve Frontier for any issue on their end, so please stop putting words in my mouth in your crusade to make everybody else miserable.
Also that's not what "broken game mechanics" means. Bugs and technical problems aren't broken game mechanics. There are plenty of broken mechanics in ED, a hiccup with the BGS tick is not that.
This is similar to the responses insisting there are no bugs or stability issues, despite the fact there is DEMONSTRABLY a tonne of them. It all falls into the "nothing to see here" defence strategy employed by the more convinced of the player base. Perhaps if we all acknowledged the reality of the state this game was in, as opposed to bickering and denying the obvious, FD would be forced to allocate some resource to fix it.
I read these forums almost every day, I can't remember very many claims that there are no bugs or stability issues. If anything, when somebody has an issue a common response is "have you reported it" (at which point some people tend to show up and complain that Frontier doesn't read bug reports or some other unconstructive nonsense). Which more than implies there can be technical issues.
