I'm trying to find a way to progress in my skills to design because my big dream is to be an Imagineer at disney's. I designed a whole poster collection for the dutch themepark the Efteling. Can't work at 14? Why not?
At 14 Disney had been working for years. Newspaper delivery i believe, up at 4:30 am!
At 9 my son earned $120 in one weekend, washing cars, to pay for a game he wanted to buy.
At 14 i was doing weekend and vacation jobs to pay for my hobbies.
Imagineering is about making the impossible happen, even when everyone else thinks it cannot be done. It's not just about thinking of things. If early access is something you'd enjoy, make it happen!

(Not a criticism; encouragement. if you want it, you can have it. don't let age or other people stop you creating things or futures you want. search 'disney quotes' on google and take his advice.)

In this genere i have either Roller coaster tycoon world, or planet coaster, both very similar, the one i'll be buying will be the one i can play first.

simple.. beta, alpha, what ever, i dont care, as soon as i payed for it it's out. I dont give a ... about the marketing campaign being called beta or alpha..

I am interested in buying the early access game, but unless Frontier will state what the system requirements are for Planet Coaster, I will not be buying it at all. $80.00 is way too much to risk only to find out that your rig won't run it, and so is $30.00, especially if you can't get a refund. Some of us don't have more money than we know what to do with. I am a senior citizen living on a fixed income, so it is very important to budget my money. It is all well and good to say check the specs for the other game, but that is like comparing apples and oranges, especially if you don't give a potato about the other game. So until the specs are released, this is one sucker that won't bite!

I mean, at the end of the day... you don't have to buy it.

For the amount of time I will put into the game it is a great investment. At the end of the day, I want to play the game and I want to support Frontier. Now I'm not saying you have to at all, I'm really not but if you do have the cash to spend and want to then, it's your choice.

I'm happy to pay the price to play the game and help test it 6+ months away from release. This isn't like what some bands do and charge you for a meet and greet. You are getting a product early and if you want to help reports to the developers, you can do that also.

Going to a clothes store and buy a shirt for double the price to only wear on special occasions is much, much more crazy that buying a game you'll play almost every day.

I'm happy to pay $80 or however it is in ££. I'de pay double without question because I know I'll get my money out of it.

Hi Parkmaker, I too am a senior citizen and I believe, the oldest guy on these forums at 72. I hope I am not going to be robbed of the title "Oldest Guy on the Planet" so if you don't mind could you state your age.

I know what you mean about having to budget your spending money when on a fixed income, but I also have a private pension, besides my state pension, not a lot, but enough to live comfortably and enjoy my retirement. I take on board your concern about the specs for running this game, and maybe your rig may be capable of running it, but nothing has been mentioned yet what the minimum requirement to run the game are.

Isn't it a given that by the time Planet Coaster is released (late 2016) it won't run on any hardware we purchased more than a year or two ago (2013? 2014?).
I find it weird that the main demand on the forums is that the graphics must be awesome, incredible, bleeding edge, smooth, perfect ... oh but what are the min specs and i'd better not have to upgrade my hardware!?
Confused.
I realize we've got pensioners and kids hoping the game will be both awesome and affordable, but surely if you're a serious gamer, you've accepted the need to buy new hardware every 3-4 years. (Sorry if you're 12 and still using the budget machine your no-gaming parents bought you, that would of course be frustrating.)
It's sad that one cannot get new games to run on low specs. but i'm assuming that's the underlying graphics engines, not the gaming company code. so they are constrained by that i think.

It's possible to run Planet Coaster with hardware from before 2013

My PC is 3,5 years old now (bought in June 2012) and I can play all games but not on the maximum settings like GTA V and Star Wars Battlefront. We can't change that.

You are safe with that title, but not by much because I'm not far behind you, LOL! It is nice to have 2 pensions like you, but for someone like me who has to live on just his Social Security retirement payment which almost $500 less than someone working 40 hours a week at minimum wage job of $7.25/hour this is quite a lot to lay out for something that may not even work on his computer. Luckily I am a Viet Nam veteran so my medical needs are taken care of (and no I don't recieve anything of a retirement pension from the Army because I was not fortunate to stay in for my 20 due to policy changes) otherwise I would be losing $100 a month for medicare.

$7.25?! Minimum wage in California just went up to $10...but you have to factor in the cost of living- etc. etc.
While it might make a difference to someone without any living expenses- bills- etc. etc. You might end up getting more mileage out of those $7.25 Elsewhere than you would from $10 in California.

That aside. Totally buying early bird- when they announce the date- and maybe a VIP group ticket once more info is released.

$80? Wow....
