I still would like them to give at least the minimum requirements since they want people to buy into the Early bird Pass which is slated to start in March (a little over a month away)and by this time they should know what that will be. I would be interested in this if I knew that I could run it and I should be able to budget the early bird pass in, but without a guarantee of a refund if it didn't work, I probably won't be buying it at all (even the cheaper version. This is unfortunate because I loved RCT1, 2, and 3. There is another game out now in Early Access on Steam that I have (albeit without the money management mode) that is a lot of fun to create theme parks. I was hoping to be able to add this to my collection.

I have read that Elite: Dangerous players got their Steam keys after a few months. But only Frontier can confirm if we will get a Steam key. See here the FAQ from Elite: Dangerous (first one) and Planet Coaster (second one).

I bought the game on your store, can I get a Steam activation key?
Yes. You can redeem a free Steam key if you've already bought Elite Dangerous on the Frontier Store.

Will Planet Coaster be available on Steam?
We haven't talked with Valve about Planet Coaster, but if we do release the game on Steam we would hope to offer the option of a Steam key to our existing players.

I hope so.

Well if the game goes onto steam i would like it to have it their as well. So i do hope that a key-roll-out is planned when this step happens...

But as Brett did not reply to that part, it might be, theres not really be a plan for that hole topic yet.

I hope to get more info about how long the early access is estimated so i need to wait before i upgrade. It would be nice to see in the first days about how playable the game will be. If it is 4 months early access in which 3,5 months with only some basic things to do it wouldn't be a great price. No one knows what to expect from an early access game.

Besides the price i was also burned too many times by games in this genre (2 games) and at least two other triple-A pc games. Don't know if i could mention the names.

In Elite Dangerous you would get a little extra when you bought early access / alpha like some discount on ships at certain stations. I was hoping to see the same for Early Bird and Coaster Head package like some discount on the first future expansion. Although that wouldn't be so great from a PR point to let anyone know there is some form of DLC in the future. I know i can also see this to support Frontier, but i sort of did that already when i bought a second copy for a friend. If the team is visiting something nearby they are always welcome for a beer/coffee and delicious food.

In the end.... I strongly believe this game will turn out great. Now i need to be strong and be patient to not hit the 'buy now' button too soon.

i think early access will going untill the release of the full game.

It's not a "bêta testing" phase, it's an early access.

Which means that you have an access to the final game, but before its release.

+1

A discount price for the future expansions for the early adopters is a very good idea.

A big +1

It would be nice to know if they've only planned "Expansions" or if they also want to sell "DLC" ?

It would be wonderful to know if they have an honest strategy or an "EA/Ubi" one ...

I hope so because I use steam to keep track on all my games I bought.

Personally, I am not keen on Steam versions since I learned how much they charge developers to be listed there [woah]
I would rather my money go directly to those that are working hard on the product.

The game is due to launch in Q4 so you're looking at an Alpha/Beta access period of between 7 and 9 months depending on when in Q4 it releases.

I'll agree with the last sentence Kerrash. [yesnod]

Steam is like Apple. Everybody has it but that doesn't mean it is the best...
Sure, but that's the thing.

I like Steam because :
- Almost all my games are on the same place
- Everybody has it

When the games were sold in boxes in stores, it was much worse.

This is not so huge compared to the "usual" distribution price

Steam is pretty much the go-to for pc gamers these days.

The only thing I would compare Steam to Apple would be name recognition.
