does anyone of you ever seen a station type change due to BGS actions? i have a station near that has been industrial/service and got one of those new fancy white interiours after 2.2 hit.

it was UA bombed until recently and today, it went to just industrial and reverted to the old plain design... no faction change has been taken place.

We have had the same - also UA bombed industrial

maybe we talk about the same station? ;) but honest, i think, in my case, the station got updated to service while it was UA bombed. when 2.2 came, it was still disabled so it got the fancy interiour. once it got cleared again, it lost the service part and went back to plain industrial (which is more fitting to the system anyway)

hmm out if interest, is it a player faction that has been inserted by FD? There are reports here and on the bug forum of PMFs engaging in the wrong kind of conflicts. Perhaps there is a general issue with PMFs that needs to be addressed.

We have stations that have been flipped to Alliance for over a year and a half and they still have fed livery - its just damn hard to wash the fed stink off! :). This was a faction native to the game that we formally adopted. Things don't always update as they should.

well, we owned the station when the UA bombing began, by the time it actually triggered, we lost the station already. its also a system we expanded to - it shouldnt really matter.

Is the effected faction one inserted by FD or is it a game native faction? This is a key question as it may help FD track down the bug (if indeed it is one)

alright, at WHAT time? when the bombing began the station was owned by a PMF expanded into that system. by the time the station got cleared from the UAs it was in the hands of a native faction.

QA has now logged and passed the player minor faction bug forwards where ever bug reports go. With luck future patch notes will have something to say on it.

Ahh thanks for the clarification, sorry my reading comprehension may not be up to too much after lunch on a Friday! That's definitely one that should be reported if not already.

Awesome post. Really helpful.I just applied for a faction.so there a few things I needed to learn or review. Thanks very much.

Hi

It's been 4 days of Civil War, my Faction just won and taken control of the station and system and my faction NPC face is now plastered on station menu. It should've been ended but even after the property ownership transfer, the war is still going on...

Also I thought Expansion need 75%, but for some reason it triggered today with just 73%

And for some reason the station now have Black Market, it wasn't there before when the controlling faction were a Federation Corporation. Does my Federation Democracy faction causes this?

dont get me started what government type spawns blackmarkets... it makes NO sense. but yeah, your faction spawned it.

It can take a few hours for the states to actually clear off the boards so enjoy your victory.

And yes, Frontier seems to have gone with some goverments supposedly more free being more restrictive in their commodities. So Democracies will have Black Markets available.

Some such as the Dictatorships that restrict Black Market usage seem to translate to the more appalling third world country where you see this. Meaning that items that were illegal under Democracies are actually legal.

Case in point. Imperial Slaves can be bought in agricultural systems controlled by an Imperial Minor faction.... or an Independant Dictatorship or Feudal. While these are legal in these systems to buy, it would require a Black Market to see where these items are made illegal.

Several narcotics for example while illegal in most systems, can only be obtained freely on the open market in Anarchy High Tech systems and it is not illegal to carry them around in your hold.

So commodities of ill repute are generally more available where there is less government oversight (and lets be honest here, dictatorships can be easy to manipulate if you know how to work the guy in charge as opposed to trying to get something through a system run by multiple people) as opposed to systems where multiple layers of leadership are involved.

So why would you need a Black Market when those items can be bought and sold on the open market instead?

Which?
Afaik every ordinary commodity in the "legal drugs" category (including Narcotics) is available at more than just anarchy/high tech.
Every other narcotic is a rare good, and is thus only ever available in one place regardless of economy or controlling faction.

As far as ending conflicts - the states last exactly one tick after the conflict is effectively over and assets change hands. We monitor ticks fairly closely and have never seen it take hours to complete. A few minutes to propogate, but all changes we've seen in many months have occurred within a several minute window of the tick which does change times, but much less often than it used to. For months on end it was right around 1630 GMT. Now around 1730.

Combat Stabilizers for one.

Okay perhaps not several but there are a few goods that I've had to source but could only be found in specific locations.

Combat Stabilisers are available from High Tech Dictatorships.
Narcotics are available from Industrial/Agricultural Dictatorships, Anarchy, and several other types.

Some of the *really* tricky commodities are planetary market-unique ones like Nerve Agents.

You guys still have that classification of minor factions that determines which types of factions trigger elections between them? (I think it was something like libertarian, corporative, authoritarian and anarchy)
