  1. Too much focus on the thargoid war right now
  2. New ships
  3. FC jumping should be 5 minute spooling and 15 minutes cooldown
  4. More ways to acquire tritium in the black instead of just mining
  5. FDev should lean on ED's strength as a space sim and focus more on exploration
  6. Odyssey has been released for 2 years but there's been nothing new since then (no new suits, guns, equipment)

Thanks.

1) Agreed. Was never interested in the thargoid war. Always said with such things, they either need to be fast paced continuous updates that keep players engaged or not bother at all. If the latter, have thargoids in more like posssible encounters in thargoid space and leave it at that. Dragging such events out over months and months just isn't interesting.

2) I'm not particularly for or against this. We have close to 40 ships, and most people only fly a few. New ships aren't really going to bring much to the table unless they are better than other ships in some way, and then you are heading down the road to power creep. Plus, if FD ever do ship interiors, every extra ship means extra work, reducing the chance of FD deciding to do ship interiors in the first place.

3) As i understand, this is more a technical issue. They need at least 15 mins to ensure all servers are sync'd, which is why during busy periods, the time increases.

4) Definitely. One thing that turned me off taking my FC far out into the black for extended exploration was the thought of having to spend a lot of time mining to keep it going. I like mining, but not to the point i would have to do it for hours on end.

5) As someone who loves exploration in ED, i'd have happily sacrificed the on foot stuff from Odyssey if instead we had got more types of landable planets.

6) True, although do we really need more? Or is this just a case of more is always good? Also see point 2. I'd appreciate a melee weapon though.

FD could have gambled better with EDOs investment- a lot (as in, nearly everything) could be done via SRV, not require updating the engine (breaking it for five months, killing consoles) and just focus on giving us more with what could be done with the engine, and be brave enough to resist feet (hard as that is).

They kowtowed to the "we want spacelegs" crowd without having a good vision for how to deliver on it as a solid addition (although i do enjoy a lot of what Odyssey offers, it could have been better executed).

I hope they don't next kowtow to the "we want ship interiors" crowd, unless they have a damn good vision for its delivery.

Maybe FD will add more planets next, and utilize the SRV or foot more, but i fear we have seen the last DLC for ED, and that in a couple of years we will get an announcement saying its going into maintenance mode and then EoL.

My only satisfaction from that is that it will have been launched, had content added, and gone EoL before Star Citizen is even released :p

I've been saying that for years. There will be a time finally when ED is actually EOL, and then we'll have all them doomsayer going "ToLd YoU sO!!!!11!!111one!!!11!" :D

BDO is developed by a studio that counts over 400 employees (info from 2018) and they have 1 game, which BDO (not counting some mobile pooware).

Elite had around a 100 people working on it in its best years, not to mention all of the other game FDEV now has in development. Not quite comparable scenarios TBH.

Saying that, I do not disagree with Elite being seemingly pushed more and more into the cleaning tools closet in FDEV Towers - or that's the impression I'm getting.
I didn't know BDO, had to look it up. But what I see in your post is two different companies, one believing in their product, the other just leaving it on it's own. I wouldn't say stagnate, but not exactly flourish, either. So, here we are :)

The problem being of course is that there are physical constraints on what the database can do and how fast changes can be distributed around the world, regardless of what D2EA think, this particular item has been hammered endlessly since carriers were released and FDEV have said the are physically (ie a matter governed by the physical capabilites of the systems being used) unable to reduce the carrier jump time any further.

Nope not really.

1.6k votes is a healthy number of participants. I didn't know about that poll because I don't follow any content creators, otherwise my vote would have been on the negative row.

Whenever someone mentions a poll, it's amazing how all those that agree with the result (or, with their interpretation of the result) appear to be proud members of that commutity, whereas the opposition state the pollers don't represent them.
I bet that in a different poll with opposite results, the "I'm part of the community"/"they don't speak for me" roles would have been reversed.

Every jumps needs spool time fine , if I want to jump to colonia I only need one spool up time ? but you can give me X amount of hrs to jump in my FC would disappear from one place and after X amount of hours it magically appears in my preferred system . I just want my FC to get there I'm not worried about the time it takes , I don't want to be pushing a button X amount of times every 18 mins . If I want to investigate every system then fine individual spool up time is fine .
