Amazingly Realistic Immersion Mod

@Hedy - My wife and I just watched "Bombshell", which is a documentary about Hedy Lamarr. What an interesting lady! When I saw that she invented frequency hopping, I couldn't believe it. I thought it was a relatively new technique.
... and she worked for the OSS, forerunner of the CIA. :)

In other news, I just figured out how to apply a coat of fresh paint to our interiors!

This is actually a really big deal to me!

So how do we apply a new paint job?
You don't. It doesn't work like that (and if it did, Frontier would shut it down). I was playing around with shaders, and yes it let me make a cool "duck" paint for my Eagle, but it also screws up all the other ships in the game so it's not a viable solution.

Now the INTERIOR paint might be a workable addition to this mod. Frontier doesn't sell interior cosmetics (a dumb oversight IMO), and it doesn't affect how the ship looks from the outside-in. The one caveat is that I'm not changing per-ship assets, but rather how ALL ship interiors are modified. So my changes to the Python would screw up my Mamba. The answer to this is have a toggle, so I could turn on "fresh paint" for my Python and Adder (same paint being shared by both), and turn it off for my Krait and Mamba.

I have now downloaded the correct version but it says Stereo Disabled in Green at the bottom of the screen and some other numbers at the top.

Can you enlighten me please?

Did you replace the d3dx.ini file with the d3dx.txt (change .txt to .ini after download) found in the OP?

Old Duck,

Be careful.

FDev is going to see what your doing and shut it down, in favor of a new store item called "Ship Interiors" and charge ARX for them.
I've been asking Frontier to do that for ages... They wouldn't need to "shut me down", because I'm not editing ship assets, but rather the shaders that display ALL ships. What this means is that I can't easily have a dozen separate interiors customized for a dozen different ships. The best I can do is pick a ship with a crappy interior, like the Python, and have a toggle switch I flip when I'm flying that ship so it looks cool instead of rubbish. It's a bit of a hack, but it's better than nothing. Now if Frontier were to offer proper ship interior paint jobs and kits, I'd happily buy those instead of goofing around with this mod. Heck, everything in this mod is something I asked Frontier to fix / provide / address. I'd love to be Sherlocked by Frontier adding all these features into the game. However, I seriously doubt they are interested. If a noob like me can so easily (relatively speaking) repaint the interior of a ship, Frontier could have done it ages ago if they had wanted to.

Serious Frontier, put the "Duck" Eagle paint job in the store (and better yet, some good decals) and I'll happily throw Arx your way! Give us interior paint jobs, and I might actually spend real cash on Arx again!

EDIT

Also, look at the engagement in this thread - there is none! Well, a few (like three) CMDRs are participating, but it seems most of the community has zero interest in modding ED's graphics, so I'm just a madman in the street that nobody, including the authorities, takes seriously. See, nothing to worry about!

If we had an application to make ship decals, that would be cool.

BTW, nobody else can see the duck - it's not a shared asset like proper paints and decals. This is another reason I'm no threat to Frontier's cosmetic store. Except maybe for some solo players, which is why I probably won't ever share the decal shader code in this thread. I do recognize that I'm walking a fine line, so I'm trying to keep it on the side that causes people to play MORE Elite and thus buy MORE cosmetics from FDev.

But like everything else I've demonstrated, that duck is proof that "cool" decals are possible. Just like interior paint jobs and mixed HUD colors are possible. Custom decals, on the other hand, would be more difficult because of the bandwidth required to share them with other players. It might be a "only you can see this" feature if Frontier were to ever add it.

Yes I have replaced the ini file and it refers to stereo in numerous lines.
You should not be seeing that text with "hunting" turned off. Does the rest of the mod work? It feels like the ED version of d3dx.ini file is not being read by 3DMigoto.

Did I hear "interior paint jobs"?!?
Tell me MOAR!

I am not sure but with the text coming on I uninstalled it using the bat file and restored the original d3dx.ini file.
