PvP An incident in open

Interesting, and OP i applaud your actions, which BTW would have been my actions.

Happens again you have some great tips from your posting. (I have written a few down as well :) )

I would have high waked, not low waked, then high waked again, and a third time before tracking back to the system I wanted to get to.

As soon as he gave me the choice to fight or run, I would have either fought him, or logged out and into solo. I applaud you for sticking at it, and in the end you did the only thing you could. I wouldn't have been so patient.

Is it eravate? If so, they have been there for a week or so, out of school hours, after they've finished their chores and homework, naturally. ;)

So you play in open unless someone interacts with you in which case you log to solo? You're the most annoying person to play in open.

@OP while it's lame it is within game limits. Just like 15 second timer

Ramming is not only an issue in this particular incident, but is problematic outside stations as well.

Unless it has been fixed recently, in open space, I can ram another ship to the point of taking their shields down without becoming hostile/wanted. If this isn't an attack, then what is?

I don't do this as a habit, not "realistic" to take advantage of a failed mechanism, but others may do so.

This is another one of those tricky conditions FD needs to balance.

Make station defenses so draconian that everyone is fearful to make a simple landing if they deviate from a flight envelope or, make it that the station takes over flight control upon entering the no-fire zone, landing is requested and pilots all craft in for landing w/o CMNDR being able to input changes (smuggling takes a hit and we all know the shortcomings of a DC).

Something to think about.

Also, the protected anonymity of known criminals by the game needs some attention, just my opinion.

Thanks. Now I am not sure if you are mocking me though... ;)

In that case they'll slowly ram you to death like they did with OP...

I make sure it's extremely cutting when I mock, the rest of the time I'm misunderstood, honestly! But no, I was serious. I love language and will happily proof read anything you want me to. :) I'm also a cocky git, but that's neither here nor there! Lol ;)

Actually, changed my mind, that is a fair comment, if a little aggressively phrased. ;)

For what is worth, if I had guns I would have fought. I do play mostly in solo though because arbitrary blockades are rarely allowed for in my schedule.

Fd should not just have an intensity limit on collissions, but also frequenxy limits. You dont hit the same ship 5x in a row by accident.

Pretty sure more people would say "you attack me for no in game reason other than "for the lulz", you are the most annoying person to play in open". But each to his own, the block list is there for a reason :)

Could it be that the station didn’t fire because the player was too near you? Not wanting to risk harming innocent parties?
The authorities do not seem to care about collateral damage. If you are in the area when they open fire on another ship YOU are meant to get out of the way!

What about implementing an Automated Docking Priority for Docking Computers? This insofar as, when a ship with activated DC is inside a station any opposing ship may contact it up to 3-5 times before the station opens fire?

Of course ome has to get rid of the Ghost Belugas, too.

I think if we apply the Occam's Razor theorem, we'll find the simplest fix to this situation is for the Attacker to stop playing the Tool. He lost, he should have moved on to another target once the OP made it into the station. There, all fixed.

You and your ilk are welcome in the Universe I will create right after I destroy this one. I'll send you an invite closer to the time. ;)

See, the only actual way to fix station gank, is becuase it's a seperate instance, to have weapons and player collisions turned off in the instance.

But that might ruin immersion and the 'back in my day' would complain about us all being weak for wanting a game free from ganking inbreds, becuase they obviously don't want nice things.
