So, It looks like I'm off to get my first glimpses of the great unknown on a specific mission for the glory of the Empire. It's unlikely I'll find anything of value but hopefully I am able to return in once piece and with a story or two to tell.

Receiving my final mission briefing and taking on supplies at Nelder City:

Make sure you have packed an advanced and detailed scanner (as well as a lunch box)!
The advanced scanner only feels like cheating for the first 20 systems then you are so glad you have it and aren't using parallax to find stars 30mins SC away with nothing orbiting!
Its also great to get an instant read to see if the system has been scanned by someone else before.

Thankyou brothers for the kind words towards my ship. Sometimes I feel the ASP is an ugly beast, but given a paint-job in the Imperial White/Blue I think I'm quite fond of this one. I still haven't named her though, that's likley to bring me bad luck I suppose so I'm open to suggestions.

I'm not sure how many systems I got through last night, only a couple dozen perhaps, but that advanced scanner is magic. I'm headed for a specific one-system nebula out towards the end end of our galactic arm. If I find nothing there as I suspect I wont I have no further orders so am free to roam. So there's every chance I could swing around toward the core for a rendezvous!

If the madness of dead space doesn't take me first...

Hi All,
Wangal Energy Partners have gone expansion critical, can everybody try and focus on running missions and trade in Wangal.
I have no idea what triggers this and sadly i'm going to miss what happens if WEP do expand, any more insights are welcome on how we can help it!
If WEP do expand in these next few weeks CMDR DaMorgs will lead the way on what moves we will make. If they expand to a system we currently don't operate in we may try and increase their influence and get them to control a second system.
The system they expand to will likely be Empire so my understanding is this should trigger an election rather than war at least for taking control of stations already held by imperial factions.

Only an educated guess but I'd expect trade missions will help but assassination, kill and salvage missions won't.

This news is interesting. Coincidentally, Wangal Energy Partners is now in EXPANSION!
- Have confirmed that WEP has set up an office in Shongastyak
- WEP offices not yet seen in other immediately neighboring systems

I'm new to the game but getting the ropes. Reckon it'd be a bit more fun to have others around to fly with though (and also to possibly help me catch up on the dynamics of this beautiful game).
