Anyone else thinking of asking for a refund?

Do you even Strawman, bro?

No its not.

What if the car manufacturer comes by removes the old air freshener that no-one likes and stopped smelling over a year ago, and replaces it with a new one that has a slightly controversial aroma whilst replacing the seat cover and floor mats for free.

Thats an upgrade though.

For all those that think its ok let me ask you one question: If I play in Open and BLOCK every player I meet so im never instanced with them surely this would be by definition Solo? For all intents and purposes I would be able to still undermine your faction however I please and you wouldnt be able to do anything about it at all.

With that in mind will they be 'removing blocking' as well as that would undermine the whole PP on open only arguement as I can block the opposition and still undermine you without you being able to do anything about it.

I think it would be mostly how vendor advertised it (based on which people would've made purchasing decisions).

You know they kind of "offered" KS refund. Very quietly - so people mainly had to rely on word of mouth that, yeah, if you asked for refund they just give it to you. But they certainly didn't advertise it on a front page ;)

I wasn’t here for the KS fundraiser. At that time I was a bit more interested into Star Citizen. Don’t get me wrong I have had some fun in elite just saying if they said “ anyone unhappy that this and this are happening here is a way to get a refund” I would

You can do whatever you want with the menu, it will never concern me in the slightest and I support you in whatever you choose to do.

I'd take into account the things they actually mention not imaginary what if's. However blocking is probably here to stay, just too many nutcases getting disproportionately upset over video games.

You know it occurs to me that if this change goes through the civil, intelligent and polite thing for FD to do, would be to offer refunds to those who want them.

The civil intelligent and polite thing to do would be to try it at beta and then give reasoned well written feedback.

GC2 is probably one of my alltime 4x faves and have had endless fun with it for years, but Stellaris is insanely deep as all Paradox games, and makes the depth and breadth of GC2 look like a mobile app (only by comparison). It's as much complex sociopolitical experimentation as galactic conquering.
Geez, that DOES sound like fun :)

Out of curiosity, how many hours do you have in game?
Im on my third commander and this is the one i have had longest, enough hours so that i got to dangerous in combat, i guess.
My first two commanders i cleared the saves out of frustration with the engineers.

And making an arguement based on time spent in game is ridiculous, its like saying its ok for a car manufacturer to weld shut the passenger side door because you have already had your fun with the car anyway.

I thought the Engineers was as low as it was possible to go in bad game design, but here FD is thinking about changing the basic nature of the game after we bought it.
Not that i really care whether pp is open only or not, but just on the principle that FD shouldnt be rewarded for changing the basic nature of the product from what was advertised and sold, I am thiniking about asking for a refund. This sets a precedent i dont want to see play out.
A vendor removing basic features from a product after its sold and the money is in the vendors pocket seems unethical, maybe fradulent, and possibly illegal.

As others have already said ...i also have hundreds of hours of playtime and entertainment on this game.
Asking for a refund now would not only be an injustice..it just seems childish....

Honestly..people over reacting (as usual) and acting like this move to open is somehow going to RUIN ELITE for them .one mode..being made open. One. And acting like the minute you log into open to do PP you die. IMMEDIATLEY.

Its laughable.

These forums are honestly a joke.
Wasnt always that way..but sure seems that way now.

I guess it would be fine if it would be *clearly* communicated that game features may be significantly limited, stating time period when it could happen - at the time people made purchase decisions.
On the other hand I get impression instead it was advertised that game will be never limited, and all people will ever get is *more* things.

Technical tweak which was also a daft idea. This is a handed down poltical mandate by the grown ups.

The game's been in Alpha since 2012. Don't be wilfully dense.

I didn't think it was possible but that's even weaker than threatening to call my mum.

With players consistently calling for better communication and deeper knowledge of the planned roadmap since the beginning, that's a great point.
