Patch Notes Update April Update - Patch Notes

Of course, there's no possibility that this "engineered mod" has been inserted into the patch notes to manage the hysteria surrounding the "Roadmap Leaked?" threads ? ;)

Tomorrow we find it was "withdrawn."
Here I thought it was to manage hysteria around Frontier abandoning the PS4 :p

Don't worry, I've just about burned through all my rage, so I'll let you PvPers get back to your drag squabbles.

ABANDONING THE PS4!!!!! Bunch of dirty, rotten scoundrels!!! 😡🤬😡🤬

NOW I've burned through my rage. As you were.

Given that Corvettes have always been barn sized pinatas, nothing in this patch will change for paper-newbies, except that experienced Corvettes will now have an answer for Cutters that use their superior speed and shields to ignore federal ships.
"Corvettes will now have an answer for Cutters that use their superior speed" Are u serious? This delusion can be only truth in one scenario: Cutters cant use drag. And since that is not a case, cutters will still be much faster when draged, then a vette that is dragged ... So in real world both ships will have some drag weapons, not just a vette, only thing u get is they both fly at minimum engine output and no boost, but cutter still goes faster
And also dont u find it curious that u are the only one who defends this?!?!?... And most of us knows who is who in Ed World, just saying

"Drag Munitions" engineering modification now disables the victims boost function whilst it is active FINALLY, YALL FINALLY STARTED LEARNING HOW TO BALANCE ENGINEERING MODULES!!!

just gonna go out on a limb here and agree with 90's... yeah i know, scary..
but his point stands, Fdev, you need to not only know the game, but you need to actually communicate and take data and advice from the PvPers , they know their stuff... WAY more than anyone working in your building EVER will... it's time that you accept this and try to utilize this to your advantage, let the experienced "testers" show you what the average player's data simply cannot. Your in-house testers and QA people aside here, they work on fixing things, not balancing. You're gonna need to open your eyes, your ears, your Discords, and see who the true testers really are here.

The range of engagement is what sets the entire meta, including counter builds. So yes, the range of engagement is everything. If people are using these in C1 utility slots at short range, then one possible counter will be to use other weapons that are even more devastating at short range so that you have even a marginal DPS advantage.

DPS literally isn't everything, you know. Only those making grief builds look at sheet DPS under a microscope. They want to know how fast they can yeet someone out. Lasers are one of the most effective builds, despite having a lower overall DPS compared to most builds.

You know, one thing that troubles me is that so many people seem to have lost the capacity for creativity. I blame technology.

Hurr durr technology bad! Yet here you are using technology.

Both ships will fly like T10s, as they should. Any advantage that the Cutter has in speed will be negated by the fact both ships will be unable to get out combat range for a long time. This should be expected, since both ships should be relying on toughness and superior fire power. Not the ability to dodge with a ship the size of a football stadium.

I get that some people are legit freaked out by the idea of getting tethered by a gank squad. But honestly, I think that's just because the creative types are getting fewer and farther between. It's a bit troubling as a trend, but I think it's simply down to a matter of time and percolating of new ideas.

Now frontier, time for you to actually balance the weapons. 1) Cannons should do more damage to hull and less damage to modules. 2) torps should do more hull damage, unless you introduce a new experiemental effect that allows them to do more internal damage if they penetrate but they reduce their penetration ability by about 30%. 3) Point defense should be more accurate, however the torps should be able to fly faster. 4) Change how the boost works with the thrusters. The boost, should boost whatever thruster your using at the moment, not the MAIN thrusters AND whatever else your using. Thus allowing you to increase the boost backwards, however it should be proportional to the thruster. The side thrusts will never be as powerful as the main thrusters and the reverse thrusters, and the reverse thrusters will never be as powerful as the main thrusters, but it should not combine the main thrusters and whatever other thruster your using at the time. Those are just changes to start to balance combat and allow players to utilize the thruster potential for the ships they use.

Where the hell is this balancing???
Everyone will run drag seekers and draghounds now, making PvP even less skill based and full of lulz builds...
This doesn't only affect PvPers but also PvE players getting ganked by the said cancer builds.

please re read it again. I said they started to LEARN how to balance. One would expect drag munitions to either slow the ship down, or to prevent it from boosting, one of the two.

FDev Manager..... "Feedback is telling us we need to nerf Shield Boosters."

Dev ..... "Boosters ... right, I'm onto it."

Checks through list of engineering mods available ......

Dev .... "OK, we've found an engineering mod that will counter those Boosters nicely !"

FDev Manager .... "Great, fix it and post it in the Patch Notes for Monday. The players will be pleased with how we respond to their needs!"
This is 100% accurate I don't even need to check. You are a journalist now. No I'm not kidding.

It is not a change that we asked for or needed. I agree. However, I think this playerbase is smart enough to be able to come up with counters to this in the coming weeks there are alot of unused engineering options and unused modules at the moment. I am sure something will be made to counter this, we have had bad changes before and the sky was falling but pvp still happens. If people want to pvp they will have to adapt to this change. I don't like the change, but I am excited to see what will come in the next few weeks after the initial shock has worn out and some people actually start looking into counter this, and then others start looking for the counter to that counter and so on.

What are you talking about? The patch has over 800 bug fixes!!! Can't you count? SHEEESH ;)
Yeah, and 3.3 supposedly fixed 2000 bugs. Go ahead, name them. If that DBX cosmetic 'fix' is considered a "major update" (worthy enough to be list over the 750 that weren't), then odds are the ones that are not listed are trivial things like random "\n". Now don't get me wrong, I'll be happy if \n is removed, but I see nothing about the broken menu system or terribly horribly horrible awful disgrace Frontier tries to pass off as shadows on PS4. Nor do I see anything about the disappearing stars outside the Bubble, or any number of other reported and "up-voted" (old-school) bugs that have plagued this game since 3.3 dropped, and even before that!

But the DBX has a yellow console now, woo stinking fracking hoo.
