Are Interdictions way too easy to Escape now?

I only started this game about 4 months ago. At the time Interdictions were new to me, but I found them very enjoyable. I loved the whole twisting and turnung and trying to stay on the escape vector. The whole mechanic made a whole lot of sense. He`s trying to pull you off the road; you`re trying to stay on. Great idea. Sometimes I got caught, most of the time I got away.

But I`ve noticed since the last Patch that Interdictions are so easy to escape. In fact I`ve NEVER lost an Interdiction.

Yesterday on a long tourist mission, I was interdicted about 30 times- 10 there and around 20 back (I didn`t count exactly), not once did they ever pull me out.

Seems like they`re made escaping Interdictions too easy now.

I agree - it's way too easy. I haven't lost an interdiction for weeks, and that was because I was looking away and had my headphones off.

It's a touchy subject for FD.

They've not been right since I joined in 1.4. lol

Either too easy, or impossible.
This month's flavour is too easy.

If you look back at older advice for surviving Interdictions, the first rule is always submit.
Back then it was never possible to win, unless the mini game bugged out.

It is just a learning skill in knowing how to escape which not all players have mastered with the blue circle or the submission routine. The skill of an NPC ship interdiction also depends upon the player's combat rating. Some skills are easier than others as they should be for all to play. In the meantime when two Vultures interdict a combat Python which has M-Cs, Rail Guns, HRPs, MRPs, and Boosters dropping its hull to 56 percent and damaging modules in less than 10 seconds then escape is a good thing! The important issue is the bug that still shows up now and then where an NPC Plasma Accelerator combines with a M-C making it a rapid fire PA! Until that is resolved I would suggest keeping a viable escape route open!

no, not too easy, you are too good! don't blame the game!

(honestly: the interdiction difficulty seems to be "not balanceable" by FD, so i say leave it at "off" as it is...)

I've always disliked the mini-game, so I never bother with it. It just wastes my time and isn't fun. I see no advantage to playing it, so I just submit and either boost/wake away, or kill the pirate.

Too easy by a wide margin.

They used to be just about right, and their difficulty even went by your rank and the ship you were flying, then the people who'd farmed their way to Anaconda's, Cutters and 'Vettes without actually playing the game browbeat FDev into toning them down.

Try escaping in a type 9, particularly from another player and you wouldn't be saying easy.

But in an eagle for example against an NPC, hardly breaks up the journey

Never bother with the mini game because if it fails, yer dead. Submit immediately and off ye go...never fails. If it gets too annoying when its too frequent then change modes to chill out and let the kids go hungry ^

NPC's are the only interdictions in question, and you can literally escape interdictions with your eyes closed by following the audio cues now, doesn't matter what ship you're in.

With some reluctance I have to admit that it is rather too easy. However, how much of that is due to engineered engines? is it as easy in a freighter? that I do not know.
On the other hand.. it has had the effect that I always "play the game" rather than just submit and boost away like i did before.

Yes, I always used to submit when I was in my trade build ships but I don't bother any more since I noticed that it's so easy to win. On the converse side it's now more difficult to interdict others..

Which just hurts people who like doing Assassination missions for no particular purpose. It's not like that was a credit/rep farming bonanza or anything.

I think it's just right.

If they make it hard enough that the result is uncertain, you're back where you started - submitting and boosting will always be the faster option.

So in my opinion, the only way it can compete with that is by making it easy enough that it's a legitimate alternative.

They could definitely stand to be a bit tougher. I don't feel any adrenaline rush at all when I'm being pulled over in a weak ship because it doesn't even matter what I'm flying. They can't get me. Ever. :(

So what we've learned here is that being able to submit and boost away is the problem, not difficult interdictions.

Agreed.

The worst thing that can happen in just leaving it as is, players have choice, in that if its too easy for you and you want to fight then just choose to fight and submit, otherwise FD risks another overtweek as before.

Well when you consider I`m relatively new and I find it too easy, something is wrong. It feels almost pointless now. All it helps do now is break up the monotony slightly. I thought it was just fine when I first got the game before they changed it, as I said, I was escaping most interdictions but there was the odd one that was too tough to avoid, forcing me to fight.

That`s another thing, now I never get any exercise in fighting any more. Sure, I tend to avoid fights, but that doesn`t mean I want to be completely devoid of any. heck I avoid fights in real life and still ended up having to fight some sometimes!

Thanks for all your replies.
