General Assign NPC crew members to the spare cockpit seat so we can actually see our NPC crew members in our cockpits!!

What's really strange is that if you jump into the SLF, your NPC crew will be visually represented sitting at the helm. The same helm that you are still physically sitting in yourself.
While there are many great things with Elite, the fact that any NPC you have on your ship isn't automatically assigned a seat is a lazy implementation of the feature; not to mention bad for immersion. And as already been pointed out: it has been years...
I thought that was your CMDR?

I thought that was your CMDR?
Yes,thats your cmdr, the crew only show in the slf.
If you're on odyssey, the crew sitting inside the slf has a facial model, while on the horizon there's only a simple black opaque helmet.
I think maybe the horizon doesn't include the ability to display npc faces, but it does in the Odyssey.
If the crew were simply added to the bridge, Horizon players might only see a standard model wearing a black helmet.
But even so, it can give us a little comfort in the loneliness of a long flight.
Even if this feature is only added to the Odyssey, I think it will be a reason to persuade many players to buy dlc, small features, greater profit returns.

Come on, devs, we've only been asking here for a tiny feature that would greatly enhance our immersion and game experience.

We're not asking you here to create and design ship interiors ; we're only asking for a 3d version (just sitting in those ridiculously empty seats) of our copilots/crew members (using models that already work in game and that you already use with Apex).

Are you guys serious ? Are you really gonna keep ignoring us ?

As a reminder...

These are only some of the 2021 ones :

And here you can see such a feature has been requested each year since 2015 :

The thing is you payed for a game and they gave you the game. I think nowhere during the purchase it was said that you pay for "the right to have answers to development questions" or any such thing and so they are not obliged to give you any answers. It would show some good manners and good will on their side but let's be real, companies don't care about manners and a good will, only profits. And since you paid them for Elite, Horizons and now also Odyssey, you gave them what they wanted from you and are under no pressure to give you anything else than what you already have, even if it requires near zero effort on their side.

The only thing you can do is stop playing, and in the future not buy another expansion. If enough people do this, it might (and it is a REALLY big "maybe") lead to FDev noticing a drop in player base and consequently in their profits, which might (again "big maybe") lead to them trying to find out what's happened, perhaps through some questionaire/survey and if the survey has a question "Why have you stopped playing Elite?" you could tell them your reasons and then they might (again big maybe) start doing something if it shows that the majority of people stopped because "Devs don't address the issues community asks for".

I know how you feel, I think I felt the same but your stance would only have a chance to change something if they cared about your opinion but they don't and so you won't get any answer no matter how persistant you'll be. The sooner you accept it, the sooner you can stop wasting your time and move on to something else.
This is the crux of the matter as you have stated it - The thing is you payed for a game and they gave you the game. I think nowhere during the purchase it was said that you pay for "the right to have answers to development questions" or any such thing and so they are not obliged to give you any answers.

When Bethesda's Starfield is out, if the game is good, I think all the players that have been begging disdainful devs for 3d crew members (and there's a bunch !) might leave ED for good... For there is no doubt Bethesda will make NPCs a much richer experience.

The truth is ED will be outdated long before it even looks like half the game it was to be... Nope we'll NEVER see ship interiors or earthlike planet landings ; we'll NEVER see a drop of water in that game. (You can always try to find some comfort in a new paintjob...). Even the forever alpha Star Citizen seems to have more future...

I wonder if Lemnis crate and Jurassic zoo will then sustain the studio.

I would love this added as a feature :love::love::love::love::love::love::love:
I would gladly pay ARX or cash for a DLC, to have my NPC Fighter Pilot in a seat next to me when not in the fighter.
If the NPC is viewable in the fighters seat (as stated earlier in this thread), surely it can also be transferred to the main craft easily enough?
You could also have optional extra features (more ARX?), such as relevant dialogue or facial features instead of a blank helmet faceplate.
I'm gonna check if I can see my fighter pilot on camera tonight after work.

When Bethesda's Starfield is out...
Has it been hinted that there's a flight sim in that game (serious question)? From what I've seen it looks to be more Mass Effect / The Outer Worlds and they're still using the Creation Engine (upgraded) but they couldn't get vehicles or even horses in Fallout 4 / 76, I can't imagine them building a flight simulator from it. Cool if they did tho', definite Firefly vibes from the artwork.
Not being down on it, I've grown up with them all, from Arena to F4VR. Didn't bother with '76 tho', and looking forward to Starfield - creaking bug infested engine 'n all :)

"Most of Starfield's trailer is set either inside or outside of a spaceship, indicating galactic flight won't just be a feature - it will be the primary method of travel within the game. The biggest question at this point in time is what the space travel system will look like. Using The Elder Scrolls as a sample of what the travel system could be, players will likely fly through open space until they find a planet or moon. As locations are discovered, fast-travel between them will be enabled." ( https://screenrant.com/starfield-fly-other-planet-travel-space-ships/ )

As long as the developers do not listen to their community of players, the only thing they will achieve is to fall into ruin. In the business world, the customer is always right. And if they lose their opportunity, that opportunity will be filled by another company. maybe everyone will migrate to SC or Starfield, even to

Despite the tough competition in the market that ED has at the moment, ED has everything going for it to establish itself as a benchmark in the space genre. But it is necessary that FD does not fall asleep and assume reality; ED is still an excellent product, but one that is already aging extremely quickly. Therefore, continuous improvement and the gradual addition of those functions / characteristics / dynamics that its most direct competitors are gradually establishing as new standards are necessary. The ability to explore the interiors of the ships or have the simple company of an NPC in the cabin (ignoring for a moment that the NPC in the cabin offer a myriad of configuration and depth possibilities), are characteristics that FD has the capacity, the resources and talent to implement easily. Everything else already exists and although it can continue to improve, it is already of sufficient quality. If I do not follow this path, I do not predict a stable future in the market for ED and its competitors will take over.

I 100% agree with you guys, but I've come to question the effectiveness of saying anything here in this suggestions forum.

Maybe we should do something different, something new. Creating a ticket was a good idea : even if they closed the ticket, it drew their attention. What about something more unusual, something more significant ?

》》》》》 What about a gaming strike ? What if all the people who want that feature and feel ignored stopped together playing ED for just 24 hours the same day ? 《《《《《

I think it would send a message and FD would at least need to get out of their disdainful silence and give us a proper answer...
