Loud demands for proof mean nothing because, it's pretty clear, no amount of proof will be enough for some people
No. Actually, I'm agreeing with you.Since you added the elipses, I wonder if you might have misunderstood what I meant there.
You can fly/trade without weapons. The interdictions are easy to evade- but (ocasionally) the frequency is excessive, boring and repetitive. As it is now, the game provides ways for players who are unwilling, ill-equipped or insufficiently skilled to avoid combat, or to escape from it
Too much testosterone, my sonI'm going to be totally honest here, I actually jumped up out of my chair, gave the npc (OK, my screen) the finger and let out a little whoop as I did it. I'm 45 years old by the way.
... getting destroyed by the AI while flying in a straigt line.
Well, we have the fossils,unicorns...I cannot claim they exist without presenting proof
To be fair, a LOT of forum posts about gitgud or advice for breaking an interdiction say to do exactly this: boost, boost in a straight line, roll & wait for the FSD to recharge.

I DO boost in a straight line while charging FSD... but I've also fitted all my trade ships with mines. Lots of mines![]()
I've not seen anyone post a video of anything "instant helpless megadeath" since the NPC weapons got removed that hasn't involved some very shonky flying (and never instadeath). Be it pips or coming to a standstill in their line of fire or turning back towards them in place of thrusting around there's always something where if it were me I'd be kicking myself for the obvious mistake and trying again.Proof has been given. End of.
Also doesn't matter if I'm mining and he jumps and and takes my shields down in seconds

... who have upgraded to a Python or similar ship beyond an Asp, but not quite an Anaconda, are seeing a lot of constant Dangerous/Deadly/Elite combat ships on us over and over again.
I have experienced both of these things myself. No, I don't have a video of it - a lot of players seem to think that something like Shadowplay or FRAPS is built into the game. It isn't, so quit fobbing people talking about their experiences off with that "reason."
I can say for sure that the Deadly+, constant interdictions by NPCs way over my combat level (Mostly Harmless) have happened to me and quite a few more players. I've also had the "thermal attack" + insta-shield stripping. Yeah, it's possible to escape with barely a sliver of hull left (and I haven't had a rebuy since 1.2) and this is where players' skill helps.
I am also reminded of the first weekend 2.1 dropped - how the NPCs were suddenly sporting superweapons, weapons far outside of their class, appearing to generate no heat or cooldown period. "Git gud" blah blah you don't know how to play/that's impossible/you just suck.
Until FD got back to work after the holiday and came out and said, "yes, there's a bug here; we didn't expect it and it was hard to track down."
So please quit denigrating about a third of the players who talk about these things as deluded. There is enough anecdotal evidence (and videos) to at least warrant an investigation of these things, not to dismiss them instantly with a knee-jerk response. That isn't helping anyone - players OR FD.
Can you point me to any of these videos.
Thermal or impulse attack is not the result of a modified weapon. I've seen videos prior to the devs removing engineer weapons, it was clear to see there was a bug.
Shadowplay doesn't need to be part of the game, you simply turn it on and set it to record the last few minutes, that is all you need.
Happy to be proved wrong if you could link me to a video that doesn't involve dodgy flying, poor pip management, or simply being outgunned by a superior ship.
Of course, there were also the videos that showed 'shields melting in seconds' actually happening, which appear to have been conveniently forgotten by these pseudo-sceptics now that one major cause of problems has been taken out of the game. That doesn't mean there aren't any others.
Loud demands for proof mean nothing because, it's pretty clear, no amount of proof will be enough for some people. They're just trying to avoid admitting that they might be wrong.

And how did players highlight that to FD? Oh yeah, videos that showed what was obviously plasma rounds being fired at multi cannon rates in a purple stream of death.I am also reminded of the first weekend 2.1 dropped - how the NPCs were suddenly sporting superweapons, weapons far outside of their class, appearing to generate no heat or cooldown period. "Git gud" blah blah you don't know how to play/that's impossible/you just suck.

Well, I'd be happy to try that out if you'll send me the cash to purchase a nice 970 or, alternately, a FRAPS license.
Most of the remaining complainants refuse to even submit bug reports, which if they did would get instructions on how to get a more accurate log of the problem (no video needed) and thusly help from support - which seems to have been forthcoming to everyone with real problems. No worries about if you don't have an Nvidia card, just seems strange nobody can provide a video confirming any weapons bug since the removal of engineered weapons, of course I could be wrong, would help if someone provided a video.
Pointless to reply to you; your mind is as hard-set as you accuse other players of being.
i know its late to reply but as to the heat i only noticed it because i was also charging to high wake and got temperature going critical. at no time was i firing weapons at the FAS. i had pips 4 in sys and 2 eng and was trying to boost away, tried corkscrew as advised but hey its an asp explorer. i dumped 4 pips in eng when the shields died at 8 seconds. and the FAS was still keeping up with me. and it NEVER missed. All thermal weapons increase the heat of the target. Under normal circumstances it's barely noticeable, but it's there. As to what happened in your case, I don't know. Just food for thought.
