Hi @Boralean ,

I will try to help.
  1. Which version of Aussiedroid's script are you running (4.3 or 5.0)?
  2. Please confirm FW version of your Stick and Throttle (should be Stick=12, Throttle=23)
  3. Please confirm version of TARGET you are running (should be 3.0.24.618_rev1)
  4. Check the TARGET Script Console printout and advise if you got any errors when running the script.
    1. You should see something like the following at the very top...
      Running script: C:\Users\<yourusername>\<path to script>\AD_ED_v5.0.0.tmc

Hello Clicker,

so as I got some progress as I got installed AD script installed but still facing similar issues, I am posting them to get help.
First I will answer the question to hw, sw and fw, which you might need to know to be on the same page.
  1. Aussiedroid's script v 5.0.0 is used on Win11 Pro.
  2. FW version of your Stick=FW 12, Throttle= FW 23
  3. TARGET version v3.0.24.618 is running.
  4. My TARGET Script Console printout shows no unexpected error and closes with main returned 0 when running the script. Result as follows:

    This should be ok afaik.
  5. TM HOTAS Stick and Throttle are shown as "combined". XBox-Controller, which I use only for driving in SRV remains separate. MS Sidewinder ForceFeddback pedals for driving on planets as well as for yaw while flying.
    Details see in my signature.
It worked for some hours. Now I still do not see my AD Hotas Warthog bindings ingame. I do not have a clue.
I reconnected my controllers before and in the game.
Outside all works, I check with the Target SW the "device analyzer" and "joystick control panel" and there it works.
Then I start ED via EDProfiler (after selecting the bindings files for each section; section means gereral, Flight, on planet and on foot) and not Warthog v5.0.0 is showing up. In the "BindingLoadingErrors.log" is says that my binding were not found.

I see the following message in the "BindingLoadingErrors.log"
There where errors when loading preset file: Aussiedroid Warthog Enhanced 5.0.0.4.1.binds
There are multiple entries of binding "MouseGUI" Only the first will be used
There are multiple entries of binding "MouseGUI" Only the first will be used
Failed to find GUID for device: 045E0B12
... 20 identlcal lines removed for readability ...

Failed to find GUID for device: 045E0B12

Dunno, why.
I am completly lost, what I can do to make ED see my bindings.
As said it worked and I was happy for few hours. Did nothings else than restarting the all tools before ED on the next day in the same manner...

Please help!

Hi @major7079 ,

I'll see if I can help and lets start with...

The errors you see in BindingLoadingErrors.log indicate that a controller expected to be seen in game has gone missing.
Strange that the game worked for some hours before it crashed.

If you go into the bind file folder and open "Aussiedroid Warthog Enhanced 5.0.0.4.1.binds" file with notepad or notepad++, search for 045E0B12, it will give you a clue as to which controller has gone awol. Any missing (awol) controller will always result in the whole bind file not being selectable by the game in the CONTROL allocation menu.
Delete the BindingLoadingErrors.log file and try reconnecting your controllers without running the script or game.

Run joy.cpl (hopefully it is available in Win11) and ensure you can see them all, if so try running the script again.

Next, I would strongly recommend you have all of your controllers connected to a powered USB hub and not direct to USB sockets on your PC if you have not already done so.
Not using a powered hub has been one of the most frequent issues I've seen with missing controllers as some motherboards just don't produce enough juice to power more than two or three devices.

Start with the above and let me know how you get on.

Cheers

Hello @Clicker,
wow great, I am impressed because of your fast feedback.
Understood. Really good tips I will immediately check out...
  • Indeed I did not attach the my pedals, but they were not attached either when v5.0.0 worked few days ago. when I could see and select the script setting after installation. I have attached all controllers.
Before I start TARGET script, I do see them all, as it should be: Controller Xbox, Joystick - HOTAS Warthog, Throttle - HOTAS Warthog and Sidewinder Froce Feedback Wheel (USB). - DONE

  • Luckily I have also a powerable USB-4port-Hub, with which I have connected all 4 controllers now. All are plugged now in this 4port hub at PC mainboard back side and the Hub is powered with extrernal power supply via micro USB cable. - DONE
This was is a good hint, as I often had the problem that after a while PC was idling, attached controller went to go to sleep, script stopped and so I had to restart TARGET script.
Q: Is it possible to get the extra power from a free mainboard USB port or is it required to get the extra power from an external power supply as afaik Micro-USB cable can only providing very few extra power?

  • In file "StartPreset.4.start" I have replaced 4 former "Aussiedroid Warthog Enhanced 4.3.0." entries by
    Aussiedroid Warthog Enhanced 5.0.0
    Aussiedroid Warthog Enhanced 5.0.0
    Aussiedroid Warthog Enhanced 5.0.0
    Aussiedroid Warthog Enhanced 5.0.0

I already know that this tweeking is correct as EDProfiler would set this in the same way, too. - DONE

  • Same for file "StartPreset.start" where I have replaced former "Aussiedroid Warthog Enhanced 4.3.0." entry by "Aussiedroid Warthog Enhanced 5.0.0."
I do now know if that was tweeked correctly as I do not know for which this entry is. For what is this entry? Is it still used and necessary?

  • I deleted the content from file "BindingLoadingErrors.log" as I usually did when something was not working as intended. - DONE

  • I have also checked with notepad++ and searched for "045E0B12".
I found many entries like this <Binding Device="045E0B12" Key="GamePad_LStickX" for similar mapped buttons. I assume this points towards buttons of my Xbox controller. XBox controller is always available before I start ED. I always check this.
Q: Could this be from a different controller or a previous XBox controller, which I might have replaced already?

  • I do have 3 different AD binds files in my "C:\Users\Markus\AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Bindings" folder:
    Aussiedroid Warthog Enhanced 5.0.0.3.0.binds (<KeyboardLayout>en-US</KeyboardLayout>)
    Aussiedroid Warthog Enhanced 5.0.0.4.0.binds (<KeyboardLayout>en-GB</KeyboardLayout>)
    Aussiedroid Warthog Enhanced 5.0.0.4.1.binds (<KeyboardLayout>de-DE</KeyboardLayout>)
When I checked them out I think referring to the first code lines they refer only to the different KeyboardLayouts.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    <Root PresetName="Aussiedroid Warthog Enhanced 5.0.0" MajorVersion="4" MinorVersion="0">
    <KeyboardLayout>en-GB</KeyboardLayout>

Q: Are they all needed? Meanwhile I have removed my en-US keyboard in Win11 keyboard settings.

  • There is also a file called "Custom.4.1.binds". I do not know what to do with this. I believe that this ...4.1 belongs to the keyboard layout reference file and my ingame made changes in the binds for differen buttont, right?
Well, my keyboard is German and I do want to have this correctly set. Nevertheless I want to have Voice Attack and HCS Voice packs in English. This should be possible, right?!

  • All 4 different ingame areas (general, ship, SRV and on-foot) must be set to "Aussiedroid Warthog Enhanced 5.0.0" script to work properly and then being able to be adapted acc. personal needs. - DONE
As all is done now accordingly, I will try it again... fingers crossed...

All looked so promising, but I was unlucky.
I started TARGET script. Controller were sucessfully combined to "Thrustmaster combined", while Xbox and Pedals remain separate controller.
I started all tools (Voice Attack, executed TARGET GUI script, TrackIRand EDProfiler as requested before the launching ED via EDProfiler.
Despite that I selected Warthog script 5.0.0 in at EDProfiler for all 4 areas from which I start the game (excluding VR software to start), ingame ED all areas were set to gamepad. Neither AD script 5.0.0 nor any other Warthog generic controller were showing up to select at all.
  • I closed game and launcher and checked all files.
"StartPreset.start" is as before, while "StartPreset.4.start" shows now

There are multiple entries of binding "MouseGUI" Only the first will be used
Missing devices: ThrustMasterWarthogJoystick, ThrustMasterWarthogThrottle
  • "Custom.4.1.binds" file was untouched as time stamp is unchanged.
I will rename/delete the file and see what will happen when I make custom settings when I can see and select AD script 5.0.0 again.
Can I somehow reset the Custom.4.1.binds file?
  • I do not know for what I get the warning "There are multiple entries of binding "MouseGUI" Only the first will be used".
There is only one mouse (G502X wireless with dongle) and keyboard (G915 wireless with dongle) attached.
  • Maybe Xbox controller is overruling / suppressing Warthog entries. I recognized that I had the Xbox dongle (for wireless use) and also the Xbox connected to an USB hub on the PC (for Xbox controller charging purpose).
I will try it again with Xbox controller completely disconneted (cable and dongle).

Disconnecting the XBox controller didn't help; the selected ingame binds were now set to "default".
I unplugged and re-plugged the 4-port hub I was using with all controllers. Suddenly I got a USB warning from the Win11 system that a USB element wasn't working properly. I identified this as the USB Sidewinder pedals. I then connected the pedals directly to a free USB port on the back of the PC. The warning was gone. It seems that the additional hub power supply doesn't help for all controllers.

I also eliminated the internal LG monitor USB-hub from the equation, where my TrackIR 5 receiver was plugged into the said 4-port hub with the other HOTAS controllers.
The monitor could contain the additional mouse that is always complained about in the log?! I'll check that after I finish this post.

My "BindingLoadingErrors.log" is now
There where errors when loading preset file: Aussiedroid Warthog Enhanced 5.0.0.4.1.binds

Failed to find GUID for device: 045E0B12

"StartPreset.start" was as before, while "StartPreset.4.start" shows now as I could select a "generic Warthog" (not AD ED 5.0.0) entry it in game.
ThrustMasterHOTASWarthog
ThrustMasterHOTASWarthog
ThrustMasterHOTASWarthog
ThrustMasterHOTASWarthog

No new "Custom.4.1.binds" binds file was created (I removed this file name from being accessible by renaming it); probably as I did not make any changes inside this ThrustMasterHOTASWarthog profile itself.
I will check to see if such a file is created / changed the next time I make changes to the key assignment in the selected bind.
Hopefully the "generic HOTAS Warthog.bind" profile is still ingame selectable. ;)
When I connected the Xbox controller while the game was still running, it was immediately selectable as a ...pad.

I also noticed that my new Win11 settings had the existing German keyboard prioritized.
I changed this to en-GB, because that was how it was with AD ED v4.3 script on my previous Win10 gaming rig.
I would rather stick with the actual keyboard language settings, i.e. de-DE, but if it helps... we'll see.

Side topic:
I do not know if you know or are familiar with Dr. Kaii's "EDProfiler" tool for ED. I like it as it helps to start ED without additionalle starting Oculus Rift VR. With ED Profiles VR can easily disebled when not needed.
Always binds are empty when I check the "detect Current Settings". I select "
Aussidroid Warthog Enhanced 5.0.0" script as AD script is available here for selection.
I click klick on "Apply" button to set all settings. I could verify that 4x "Aussiedroid Warthog Enhanced 5.0.0" was written into the "StartPreset.4.start" file.
Then I klick on "Launch Elite" button.
Some screenshots. EDProfiler v4.0.0.1_bindings always EMPTY after start_2025-02-01.jpgEDProfiler v4.0.0.1_Bindings menue with dublicated entries_2025-02-01.jpg

If there is an easy way how I can test to disable VR manually when launching ED, then I could launch ED without EDProfiler.

Now lets try all again...

Wow, that's a LOT to unpack.

Some notes on the bind files.
You should not have to tweak any of the Startpreset files.
These are written by the game after you successfully assign a bind file or update your binds in game within controller options.

The different versions listed in StartPreset and StartPreset.4 are as follows (my best guess)
*.4.1.binds = Latest game client required to run Odyssey and Horizons
*.4.0.binds = Legacy Horizons (I think)
*.3.0 = Original game, pre Horizons

If you intend to use your other controllers for SRV and on-foot, then select Aussiedoid's profile for ONLY Ship control.

You will then need to manually assign your other control inputs to SRV and Onfoot manually.
These will then be listed as CUSTOM binds (e.g. custom.4.1.binds in binds folder if written running Odyssey).
Once you are happy with your customisation, exit the game and go back into the binds folder and rename these as you wish but leave the ".4.1.binds" part intact. Whilst at it, open them via notepad++ and modify the top line to reflect what you've called them (no need to include the .4.1 part in your bind name).

Next time you fire up the game go back to your control options for SRV and on foot and you should see the bind files listed reflecting what you changed the top line in the bind file to (ie not it's file name).

Hope this helps.

Later today, I will review what you sent and try to answer anything I've not covered here.

Hi @major7079 ,
I'll try to answer some of your questions...
From your first reply...

"Q: Is it possible to get the extra power from a free mainboard USB port or is it required to get the extra power from an external power supply as afaik Micro-USB cable can only providing very few extra power?"

Not sure what you are asking here. Your Powered USB hub should be able to power what is plugged into it.
By all means you can plug one or two other controllers into your motherboard. I just would not recommend they all be powered from your motherboard at the same time during the game.

"In file "StartPreset.4.start" I have replaced 4 former "Aussiedroid Warthog Enhanced 4.3.0." entries by..."
"Same for file "StartPreset.start" where I have replaced former "Aussiedroid Warthog Enhanced 4.3.0." entry by..."

You do not need to edit these....ever.

"I do now know if that was tweeked correctly as I do not know for which this entry is. For what is this entry? Is it still used and necessary?"

Hopefullyxplained in my previous post yesterday.

"I found many entries like this <Binding Device="045E0B12" Key="GamePad_LStickX" for similar mapped buttons. I assume this points towards buttons of my Xbox controller. XBox controller is always available before I start ED. I always check this.
Q: Could this be from a different controller or a previous XBox controller, which I might have replaced already?"

This will likely be from a previous controller.

"I do have 3 different AD binds files in my "C:\Users\Markus\AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Bindings" folder:
Aussiedroid Warthog Enhanced 5.0.0.3.0.binds (<KeyboardLayout>en-US</KeyboardLayout>)
Aussiedroid Warthog Enhanced 5.0.0.4.0.binds (<KeyboardLayout>en-GB</KeyboardLayout>)
Aussiedroid Warthog Enhanced 5.0.0.4.1.binds (<KeyboardLayout>de-DE</KeyboardLayout>)
When I checked them out I think referring to the first code lines they refer only to the different KeyboardLayouts.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
<Root PresetName="Aussiedroid Warthog Enhanced 5.0.0" MajorVersion="4" MinorVersion="0">
<KeyboardLayout>en-GB</KeyboardLayout>

Q: Are they all needed? Meanwhile I have removed my en-US keyboard in Win11 keyboard settings."

The "root presetName" is whatever you want to call it. This is the string which shows up in the controller options in game.

The different .3.0.binds etc are appended by the game and denotes which version you're running...Odyssey, Horizons Legacy, or original Elite.

"There is also a file called "Custom.4.1.binds". I do not know what to do with this."

The Custom binds usually are one of the "canned" profiles that you have edited.
For on-foot I don't use a controller, so all my mouse and key binds are in my Custom.bind file.

"Well, my keyboard is German and I do want to have this correctly set. Nevertheless I want to have Voice Attack and HCS Voice packs in English. This should be possible, right?!"

Yes.

"All 4 different ingame areas (general, ship, SRV and on-foot) must be set to "Aussiedroid Warthog Enhanced 5.0.0" script to work properly and then being able to be adapted acc. personal needs."

If Aussiedroids Script has bindings for everything you need for all 4 areas, then go for it.
However, you don't "MUST" use it if you are predominantly or exclusively using a different controller or keyboard+mouse for on-foot for example.

End of Part 1

From your second reply...

"Neither AD script 5.0.0 nor any other Warthog generic controller were showing up to select at all.
  • I closed game and launcher and checked all files.
"StartPreset.start" is as before, while "StartPreset.4.start" shows now

  • My "BindingLoadingErrors.log" is now:
There where errors when loading preset file: Aussiedroid Warthog Enhanced 5.0.0.4.1.binds
There are multiple entries of binding "MouseGUI" Only the first will be used"
"

The profies will not show until you fix the missing controller.
You might be best to grab a fresh copy of Aussiedroid's bind file and copy to the binds folder then start adding your other controllers where you need them.

The multiple MouseGUI entries may be a corrupted bind file, or, someone/something edited the bind file incorrectly.

What is "EDProfiler"?

"Can I somehow reset the Custom.4.1.binds file?"

Yep. Rename it as something else, or, delete it from the binds folder.

End of Part 2

For your 3rd reply...

I am not familiar with EDProfiler so will not comment other to ask, does it have the ability to change your binds?
If so, it may be the culprit behind the multiple "MouseGUI" entries.

I also do not have VR, so cannot help you there either.

Perhaps post specific questions about these in a generic forum post in either "Dangerous Discussion" or "PC" sub forums.

Hope I was able to help in some way.

Good luck.

Dear Clicker,
sorry for the delay of my answer.
I did not save my last comments as draft and now they are all gone. Thank you for your support so far and you helpful answers.
I could sort out, learn and could get good ideas and a better understanding of the profiles and versioning.

Fyi.: EDProfiler is an app (from Dr. Kaii, ED player) to make pre-defined setting how you want to start ED.
See my previous screenshot.

Finally, I do not know what I really changed but I did make it run but unfortunately somehow unstable.
Connented the pedals with a separate USB port. I am not sure that this causes the issues.
But I can see the AD v5.0.0 script ingame (not always but for ~50 % of my ED launches.

Headtracking with TrackIR 5 and Tobii Eyetracker 5 still not working ingame while doing perfect outside ED.

Ingame I have now another issue and cannot identify its route cause.
At least when all starts I can play inside a system.
But when I jump to another system then all display is turning off (it never did before) and the HUD will show up when I am arriving in the destination system.
No Hud_Screenshot 2025-02-04 233915.jpg

I can tell you now that when I jump and HUD is off during the jump, it usually comes back online when I am arriving in the destination system;
BUT when the HUD is running while I am jumping, it will turn off, when I arrive in the destination system. I cannot see anything but the real stars in the system I have to close ED completely and restart ED all over in the new system to get HUD back to work.

  • The USB Hub is external power as suggested and only Warthog Stick and Throttle are plugged in this.
  • I resetted my undervolting (with MSI Afterburner) to normal and also tried overclocked my GraKa 104% without success for my problem.
  • New is my monitor with 3440x1440 resolution. So I have tried already to use lower resolution, but this did not help.
  • I tried to lower the framerate from ultra to medium; nothing.

When I check the error log, I find this:

There where errors when loading preset file: Custom.4.1.binds
There are multiple entries of binding "MouseGUI" Only the first will be used
There are multiple entries of binding "MouseGUI" Only the first will be used
Missing devices: ThrustMasterWarthogJoystick, ThrustMasterWarthogThrottle

Strange as these deviced are bound to combined and should not show up at all. Warthog stick and throttle are still working ingame when the HUD is already broken.
Maybe this is a result of closind down ED. Don't know.

Do you have any idea what the reason for such behavious could be?

Thanks,
major 7079 aka CMDR E.P. Cole

1. The error about missing devices suggests you are running a profile that expects the physical devices be connected ("ThrustMasterWarthogJoystick" & "ThrustMasterWarthogThrottle") and NOT the "ThrustMasterWarthogCombined" virtual device which is what Aussiedroid's Profile, when selected and the script is running properly, will present to the game/profile.
2. Sounds like you might have a USB issue on your PC, or the script is aborting.

I suggest you do the following if you have not already done so.
a. double check the script starts fine and there are no syntax errors or script abort messages reported on the console.
b. double check you have set the in-game profile to "Aussiedroid Warthog Enhanced 5.0.0" for General and Ship (at very least).
(if you intend to use different controllers for SRV and on foot, DO NOT set the profile for those to Aussiedroid's...use a custom profile and set the binds manually making sure these controllers are plugged in to your PC)
c. If the game seems to work at startup, great....if/when it fails again, look closely at ALL the messages on the TARGET console. It is possible that the script may have faulted.
d. If the game has aborted due to a read status.json error (eg index out of bounds in initReadStatusJson() or some such), then try this...
Open the script file called AD_EDStatusJson_v5.0.0.tmh using notepad or (preferrebly notepad++)
On line 63 change the value of the "buf" variable from 512 to 1064

Actually, thinking about things...make the change suggested in the spoiler anyway!

Good luck.

Hello Clicker, great and super quick support

a. double check the script starts fine and there are no syntax errors or script abort messages reported on the console.
=> A: no errors and all still good in TARGET, when this grafik issues happens; if you mean that. Usually I could see that script has aborted in the TRARGET console, the I restarted the script while staying in game and all was good. Here I do not see an error at all.

b. double check you have set the in-game profile to "Aussiedroid Warthog Enhanced 5.0.0" for General and Ship (at very least).
=> A: I have chosen/set AD script in all 4 areas (general, flight, On-foot, SRV). If I need adaption of key binds, I do it in the script;

This are the complete entries in TARGET till the issues:

I cannot remember that I have ever seen such jump entries in the v4.3 version in the TARGET console. There were usually only my Hotas actions logged; but I can also be wrong on this.

(if you intend to use different controllers for SRV and on foot, DO NOT set the profile for those to Aussiedroid's...use a custom profile and set the binds manually making sure these controllers are plugged in to your PC)
=> Q: really? Do you mean I must not use AD script for all 4 areas and adapt keybinds in them? I thought AD wrote this in his manual.
What happens after a while of being in space is that the Xbox controller goes to sleep. But report/ error log says, that HOTAS separate TM Hotas are not available but they never are, as they are in combined status.

c. If the game seems to work at startup, great....if/when it fails again, look closely at ALL the messages on the TARGET console. It is possible that the script may have faulted.
=> A: nope; these are all the entries from start; twice the hyperjump worked well (HUD goes off at jump sequence and turned on at arrival in the new system) and on my third jump, my HUD stayed online, while jumping and went off after exitting the jump tunnel.

d. If the game has aborted due to a read status.json error (eg index out of bounds in initReadStatusJson() or some such), then try this...
=> Q: How and where can I see that this happens due to a status.json error?

I have set now as suggested the size to "1064" in the AD_EDStatusJson_v5.0.0.tmh file with Notepad++.

The strange thing is, that only in the jump tunnel I have this HUD error. I assumed a GraKa issues. Latest Nvidia 3080ti driver installed and fresh re-installed already.

All good and nothing happens while staying in one system and scanning planets...
Could this be a grafical issues with my new monitor and the higher maybe uncommon resolution of 3440x1440?

Really no clue what to do ...

... now again the issue that AD binds are not recognized... my 5. Login restart attempt was successful ...

Previous version did not make use of the status.json file. V5.0.0 does which is why you are seeing more console messages.

No, you can use the profile for everything if that's what you want.
You were getting wierd controller errors so all I was doing was trying to get you to isolate the controllers so we could determine where the issue was.

There is a setting to keep-alive your controllers. <-- this may well be what's causing some of your issues.
I think this issue has been solved before in this thread, so take a good look and let me know if you really cannot find it.
I'll also have a look to find this and re-post if I do.

=> Q: How and where can I see that this happens due to a status.json error?

On the console. If your HOTAS disappears or you find that the buttons on the HOTAS stop responding, it might have been caused by that error.
(did you check the referenced previous thread entry I posted?)
This is only likely to happen shortly after entering Orbital Cruise where the System and Planet names are quite long.
Increasing the buffer size makes these errors go away.

Could this be a grafical issues with my new monitor and the higher maybe uncommon resolution of 3440x1440?

I do not think your graphic issues have anything to do with the script.
The script and bind profile don't interact or set any graphics settings.

To be 100 percent honest after reading back through all you have posted, I believe there are several different issues happening here.

Found it...check/do the following;

1) Search for/Open device manager on your PC.
2) Expand the Universal Serial Bus Controllers
3) Right-click and choose properties for (example) USB Root Hub.
4) Select the Power Management Tab and turn off "Allow computer to turn off device to save power"

Hi Clicker,

a) No errors found

b) I will make the Xbox setting for SRV drinving in a new profile (not using AD v5.0.0). i hope this is working as I thought all 4 areas must be AD v5.0.0. sript.

c) I start the Target console and Hotas is shown then as "combined". I check the device manager if all buttons are working: > yes, all good. Then I start ED.
Sometimes I am lucky and AD script is correctly detected ingame and I can start playing; if script is not shown, I have to close ED and apps and empty the error log file and start again.

d) The size to "1064" in the AD_EDStatusJson_v5.0.0.tmh file with Notepad++ is already done. => no changes

New attemps and plans:

e) I have installed an older nVidia driver versions from Dec. 5th 2024. => No changes.

f) I have de-ativated "power savings" for ALL "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" with possible Energy settings tab. => Let me know if too much is bad...
1739314827170.png

g) Additionally I have also de-activated "power savings" of my all USB composite devices, when they were not yet set. => Let me know if too much is bad...
1739314554552.png

h) I removed "EDProfiler" tool from the equation and started ED manually. => no changes.

i) A friend told me to keep Upscaling Quality at "AMD FSR 1.0" which I removed as I do not have an AMD graphic card. => no changes

j) -

k) I was observing the TARGET logging while the HUD dissapears when entering and leaving the jump tunnel.
Nothing strange happened, no logging entry and combined TM Hotas Warthog was working as before as I could see from device check:
1739317222598.png

l) In the device manager I discovered a warning at "AMD GPIO Controller Properties". "... not enough free ressorces". I found this issue quite often online discussed.
TODO / verify: I will check my mainboard firmware and driver asap and will update if possible.
1739315710888.png

m) TODO / verify: I will also try to use USB ports only on the back of the mainboard to avoid looped through ports on the front and if possible not use external hubs to remove them from the equation as well. Do you think that a bad front panel can cause the issue?

n) TODO / verify: I will try to use my peripherals only with cables (as long as I have enough ports) and especially to use the Xbox controller with a cable so that it doesn't switch off. According to the internet, the power saving function of the wireless Xbox controller cannot be switched off unless you use a cable.

o) Just to confirm there is no need to have all 4 slot with AD v5.0.0 profile and I should / can switch to Joypad for SRV and Mouse and Keyboard for On-Foot.

Hiya...this is intriguing me and not until now did I understand what you were referring too....I thought "probably graphic card issue".

So, it turns out Aussiedroid's script will intentionally turn off the HUD GUI in certain circumstances by issuing a CTRL+ALT+G which is an ED built in, undocumented key combo. (that is it is not in any of the controller bind options)
Here's the list of circumstances:-
1) You move the throttle pinky switch to the "back" position whilst holding Joystick S4.
2) If you turn on NightVision and you have "NightVisionHUD" set to 1 in the AD_EDUserPrefs_v5.0.0.tmh file. This is not set by default (ie = 0)
3) If you have MFD panels, and press OSB14 on the left hand side MFD
4) AND HERE'S the GOLD!!! - when your ship hyperjumps and 'DisableHUDinWARP' is set in AD_EDUserprefs_v5.0.0.tmh file. This is the default setting. Set this to 0 if you do not want the GUI to turn off when jumping.

This is not listed in his readme document, however it is listed in his changelog.txt file (who reads these? AmIRight? Well, I just did, so there is that)
"NEW: Hide Ship HUD while in Witchspace Tunnel :). (Set in UserPrefs)."

I haven't used Aussiedroid's scripts since writing my own a few years ago, so did not realise this was a feature.

Yay, we fixed one!

If the profile works fine some times and not all the time, something has gone wrong and likely a controller that's expected to be present, is not.
(You do not actually have to clear the error log, it will not prevent the game from using the profile.)

I am bothered by several things, assuming you have modified the Aussiedroid profile to include your other controllers;
1) Your X-Box controller going to sleep
2) Your motherboard's AMD GPIO Controller issue

Try to fix "2" first.
It's possible there's too many USB and blutooth devices connected to the PC at the same time.
It could well be a motherboard firmware or driver issue (this was new Win11 PC build wasn't it?)
"Running out of system resources" may well be causing some of your issues.

As for "1", I assume the controller uses a USB dongle. The controller going to sleep may not be an issue, so long as the dongle stays "awake".

Another suggestion you might try is a little app mentioned in this extensive thread several times in the past.
This tool allows you to see what's connected and better, clear out anything old cluttering up the system.
If I recall it helped me with a USB issue I had a couple years back.

Let me know how you get on.

Good morning/afternoon/evening AD or Clicker (delete as appropriate)
So, I run Aussiedroid's 4.3 with my Warthog Hotas & T-Rudder
I've not been playing for a while, but now I am back I am more into combat/bounty hunting, in an engineered Cutter.
(I've not upgraded, working on the 'aint broke dont fix it' principle).
So, my problem is...
I am using FA-off/FA-on ALL the time . Set to the three-position thumb switch on right top of throttle block.
In each logon, game play. Initially all is OK.
Pull back for the FA-off/FA-on toggle, centre position is FA-On, push forward for FA-off.
After a few minutes or so, the centre and forward positions reverse, such that centre position is FA-off & forward position is FA-on.
Then occasionally it will revert to normal, only to reverse a few minutes later.
It is a bit disconcerting to say the least, when confronted with an elite npc target and releasing the toggle suddenly puts me in FA-off and I've lost target.
Any ideas would be gratefully accepted.
I don't (yet) do on the ground combat, so a full blown oddyssey version isn't needed. However, would it be a good idea to upgrade to Clicker's 5.2.0 script?
Muchas Gracias, Senors :)
