Hi @hobsonschoice ,

First up...please update to the 5.0 version of the script.

The newer script (5.0) includes state tracking by reading status.json and one of the "Flags" bits is dedicated to FA-OFF.
This enables better error handling within the script and may solve the issue you are seeing.

The old script (4.3) has issues tracking the position of some switches similar to what you describe.
In some cases there were features added to fix mis-aligned switches.
Alternately, you can simply hit the 'z' key to toggle FlightAssist and fix the mis-aligment manually.

REFERENCE: All of the keyboard keys used within the script are listed in AD_EDKeyMap_v5.0.0.ttm

If the problem persists see your doctor, let me know and I'll look a bit deeper and try to offer a permanent fix.

Hope this helps.

Thank you, Clicker. I have downloaded the file ED_Targetscript-502-main.zip and will install later today (Real Life intervenes, Infuenza waning 🤧 & I now have Fig Compote 🫙to make). I guess I'll have to teach my muscles new tricks - woof :) .

Ok. Installed. I found out that moving throttle forward from idle, moves the menu focus down two lines. So, must be in 'home' or on the 'go to hanger' position.
So, I auto-launched (lazy, using advanced docking computer), left station, moved out of no-fire-zone and started to check out controls.
Joystick does not work!
I checked Target config advanced setting, while running script - nothing on joystick worked.
I went to devices, throttle, joystick & pedals are present, connected and correct.
Finally, I checked the text in the Target GUI Window (follows).
You'll note that plugged USB HID Devices shows 'Joystick - Hotas Warthog'
But further down Connected Joystick is 'Warthog Base + F16 Flight Stick'
Is this the cause of joystick not working?
Any ideas welcome, please.

EDIT. It was a usb hub problem, now sorted :)

I've looked through the User Guide - most looks ok, just needs practise.

However, how do I access the left and right panels. eg. to select a nav point or to select a hostile target and then the sub level eg. Shield Generator. I know keyboard 1-4 and tab works, but is not suitable for use when in combat.

Cheers

Have a thorough read of the User Guide.
I seem to recall most things that you're asking about are covered there.

Also check out the image files in the Maps folder.

Hope this helps.

Hello!

So finally moved onto the AVA base with my F18 stick, and thought at the same time that I would move to Aussiedroids 5.0 script.

Unfortunately I'm now getting a

"Compile Error: Type required in AD_EDStatusJson_v5.0.0.tmh at line 11" on trying to run the script.

I can still use the 4.3 script absolutely fine, and wondered if anyone could spare a moment to help?

Line 11 is blank in AD_EDStatusJson_v5.0.0.tmh
Can you please recompile and confirm line throwing the error.

In fact cut/paste the whole console output and attach here please.

The BIG difference between 4.3 and 5.0 is the introduction of the file mentioned which reads status.json twice every second and decodes Flags and Flags2 to provide the script with real time status tracking.

Along with this new feature, you MUST ensure the file paths are correct within AD_EDUserPrefs_v5.0.0.tmh.

Unfortunately that is the entire console output!

I'm going to redownload the original script files and going to make sure the various edits I've done haven't caused a mess!

Yeah, that did it, there was an error in one of the lines from when I amended the JoystickF18 string using copy and paste.

Works like a charm now, thanks for your input.

This is a great tool but I can't figure out how to use it when I'm in the Galaxy Map. I can zoom/rotate the map but I have not been able to access the vertical list of options to the left of the map. I've tried the various modifiers but no luck any help would be appreciated please and thanks.

It uses the same buttons as navigating the ship UI.

To be honest in Galaxy map I use mouse!

I'm using 4.3 maybe that is the issue I'm going to switch to version 5 and see if that makes a difference. When I try to use the up/down/left/right button for the UI nothing happens when I'm in the Galaxy map. Outside of the Galaxy map it works fine.

Another thought - When navigating the menus in the Galaxy map do you use any of the modifier buttons to tab around? Thanks

I switched to 5.0 and I'm still having issues in the Galaxy Map. I can't even use the mouse in the galaxy map. I don't see the pointer and if I do click on one of the vertical menu items it flashes and goes away it does open the tab.

Using the CMS in any direction just causes flickering - it does not move from item to item on the vertical menu.

Outside of the galaxy map everything seems to be OK??

Hi @CrackerJack ,

Please bear in mind that v5, whilst the latest version was last touched over 4 years ago and the galaxy map ui has been overhauled in the mean time.

I'd be keen to hear if anyone else here has v5 working fine in the Galaxy Map.

I'll take a look over the weekend and determine if the code is meant to support the current Galmap GUI.

I do and have never had any issues with the Galmap UI, both in 4.3 and 5.0

hi @Clicker ,

Problem solved. I searched around regarding the mouse in the Galaxy Map. I needed to change the Mouse setting from OS to Window Based in the graphics settings. I then deleted and re-installed Aussiedroid and the mouse is working fine in the Galaxy map now. I wasn't aware of the Mouse setting in the display options. If someone has similar issues in the future this might help. Cheers!

When I come out of Hyperdrive some times the all the panels and HUD shut off. I found that I have to press Ctrl+Alt+G to get them back on. Not sure why they shut down in the first place but I was looking on the AussieDroid key map and I don't see anything that looks like it turns the HUD/Panels on/off. Is there such a mapping?? Thanks

@CrackerJack ,

This is a "feature".
There is a setting in AD_EDUserPrefs.tmh called DisableHUDinWarp on line 113.
This is set to 1 by default.
Set this to 0 to disable that effect.

Now you know it's intentional, you may want to keep this enabled...personal preference thing.

NOTE: on line 111 there is NightVisionHUD which does the same thing each time you switch on Night Vision.
This is set to 0 by default.
Set it to 1 if you want the script to turn off the HUD GUI each time you turn on Nightvision.

OK thank you. Is there a button bind to turn the HUD back on? I've looked at the button mapping diagrams and don't see anything.
