Bacon Cats!

So, as a newly(ish) minted Bacon Cat, *and* a user of Inara.cz, I have a couple of questions:

1) Are there any other Inara users in the Bacon Cats?
2) Is there a Bacon Cats wing set up in Inara? I looked but couldn't see one.
3) If not, would anybody have any objection to me setting one up?
4) If I do, is there an official Bacon Cats logo, or can somebody create one? (My own graphic design skills are limited to etch-a-sketch and wax crayons)

Oh, and "hello" to everyone. :)

When in England I do miss squeakybugs, it's true. Otherwise though? I rather like sitting out back until the sun's gone down, listening to the stream running at the bottom of the garden, not having to worry that at any moment my face, or the light I am near to, is about to be griefed by bugs.

I've said it before, I'm not at all a fan of non-consent PvP!

When I was with my Mum on her narrow boat once, we found that a mooring we had picked wasn't as nice as it looked, as there were tiny midges in the area. They might have been small, but they bit like rabid crocodiles. OUCH!

I don't even know what an Inara is, except a girl I was once friendly with...

I can (probably) say that the answer to 2) is no. And 3) you can feel quite free to set things up! Asp is right on the logo though, but oddly, when we looked under the cone it had gone. In seriousness - a few people have taken it upon themselves to draw some lovely signature files incorporating bacon and cats, but we have nothing in-game and no specific, "official" bacon iconography that even represents what should/could be within the fiction of the game background.

I wish I could really, really draw.

From the Minutemen thread:

Just pay no mind to the Imperial clippers smuggling bacon out of Carnoeck space. We promise we mean you no harm, we Bacon Cats just care about the freedom to share bacon.

Good luck to you all, and fly safe!

Hey Julissa. We have noticed you Cats of Bacon here on the forum. Not sure if I've seen any of y'all around Space though. Unfortunately, PowerPlay has made some of us very anti-Imperial, and I understand some of your group have Empire roots, although I am unsure of any PowerPlay allegiances, I would hate to be blowing up neighbors over petty Fed/Imp disagreements. I imagine we can peacefully coexist and possibly work together.

If there are 2 player groups pushing for the rare commodity, Space Bacon, then I'd say were doubling our chances of bringing bacon to the masses in the ED galaxy.

See you in the Black. And Drink Slurm!(goes great with Space Bacon)

Me! First post. said:
We, the Bacon Cats, are a (at least officially) politically unaffiliated group of players and pilots that value cooperation, humour, satire, good company and good tea above all over values. We're primarily a social group of equally valuable and equally awesome pilots more than wings of commanders that always play together but we welcome company and camaraderie out in the deep black. We don't claim to support Imperial, Federation or Alliance factions, we don't declare one PP group better than the others and we don't believe one game mode is better than any of the others. We simply enjoy Elite.
Worry not! Nothing here should ever be mistaken for a group bent on shaping the political landscape of Elite. Nobody joins the Bacon Cat with the express purpose of pushing one power over any other. What individual pilots do during their time in space is up to them, but the Bacon Cats name cannot be officially assigned to any activity for or against anything involved in power play or the great powers trying to spread their influence.

Officially, the group enjoys business in all jurisdictions and maintains neutrality, declaring it's bemusement at all sides respective posturing and power games. It's the peoplebacons that matter, not the politics.

And on the logo - I'm working on something, but I can't get the eyes right.

There was a official Bacon Cats logo, but then Drunks of Sol turned up and hid it under a traffic cone :D

Okay. I'll start checking under all the traffic cones I come across then...

Inara is a fan-made site for keeping track of your in-game stats, like cash, ships, rankings, etc - if you click on my signature it should take you there. It also has some useful pages for keeping track of Galnet posts, PowerPlay information, Community Goals, a handy-dandy flight log feature that allows you to import your game logs in order to keep track of where you've been, a blog-like commander's logbook, and a market database for checking out commodity prices, planning trade routes, etc. Finally, it has a pretty good gallery for people to post their screenshots to. I only found it recently but I'm liking what the developer has done with it so far.

I shall endeavour to set up a Wing on there should any other Bacon Cats decide they'd like to get involved with it. As far as I can tell it's basically a way of grouping people together and giving them a portal for sharing intel and ideas, though going on the developer's recent comments there may also be an event planner type thingie being added soon.

Indeed! Our primary concern is bacon, pure and simple!

I see you guys have briefly discussed the player group registration with FDEV. The Minutemen are registered and expecting to get an in game Minor Faction, whenever that happens. In this process, my understanding is that there will be a chance for player groups to introduce rare commodities in game. We are pushing for Space Bacon to be a real in game rare good. If you guys do the same, then we will truly be smuggling Space Bacon out of Bacon City at some point.

I'm voting for Cubeo razorback bacon ^,^

<finishes pork 'n' beans - slurps tea>

These Cubeo razorbacks are a commodity - like pork bellies? Is Cubeo a system or a planet? I don't follow such stuff, as you can see!
