Be honest everyone. Who will most likely purchase the Python MkII..?

So has anyone figured out what kind of weapon combinations does the MKII support? Fixed, gimballed, multicannons, lasers etc..

It's the same weapon arrangement as the Python (2 dorsal offset larges, 2 dorsal slightly less offset mediums, 1 centered ventral large) with the addition of a centered dorsal large hardpoint. Look here (https://siriuscorp.cc/edsa/?s=python) and imagine a center dot just above the aiming square. All of the dorsal hardpoints (3 large, 2 medium) converge reasonably well for fixed, although the new center top large and the mediums probably have the tightest grouping if you're trying to hit a module at 1000m or so. The ventral hardpoint is off doing its own thing (just like the Chieftain and the Corvette) so for convergence reasons it's probably not a bad idea to make it a gimbal.

If the ship moves better than a Krait then you should be able to keep fixed hitscan weapons on target reasonably well. I'm not worried about fixed projectiles.

However, a class 6 distributor is not going to handle more than 2 high WEP draw large hardpoints all that well, based on the performance of the Chieftain with the same class 6 PD. (Edit: Not to mention the class 6 plant) There will be a choice between deliberately downsizing (putting cytoscramblers in the mediums, etc) and/or choosing weapons that are inherently lower WEP draw (frags/pacifiers, multicannons, cannons) for at least half of the hardpoints to take the edge off of the PD draw. Or you could just go all efficient PAs, but what's the fun in that?

I'll be running two centerline large efficient vent beams, two large short range autoloader multicannons, one medium short range corrosive multicannon and one sturdy cascade Hammer.
Interesting...

I've never needed more than a Class 6 for a Pyhton build

This is mine, barely enough power: https://s.orbis.zone/nzl9

We will see how it flies - if it doesn fly as good as the FDL, the only role the Mk2 will have will be the Gank ship - which i dare to say, wont improve the appeal of open for the less pvp savy players
Come on mate. You know better than to go the Oracle posting.

The community is clever enough to find good uses for this ship and your haven't even tried it yet, but you already know what it's gonna become?

5 frags top and a corrosive mc under nose

If using it for anything other than combat, no matter if AX or human, it's potential is wasted. Though I guess explorer could suit it too. It'll certainly look pretty in front of many things.

Indeed, it's looking like the P2 will be an outfitting challenge, as already stated, much like the Vulture.

Considering 2 more util slots and the extra large hardpoint it seems odd that they would cripple the PP and PD compared to the original Python.

Must admit I've had the same thought. I've read about the SCO, which can boost to catch up another ship but can't be used to escape an interdiction. I've read about the Python II, which seems to be optimised for using the SCO more precisely, which also seems to be basically a combat ship.

FD have made an easy-mode gank boat! At about the same time as they're working on PP2...

Well, I hope the community really is clever enough to think of better uses for it.

Well, good SCO handling also means good escape capabilities (from gankers :p )
Data runner for BGS.
Quick assassination mission runner.
Just 3 examples that came to my mind on the stop.

Gimballed and turreted lasers and multicannons either in combination or all one or the other. Obviously there are issues with 4 large multis due to the huge lag between pressing the trigger and the guns doing anything.

Pacifiers do fine on the sides.

This is a Python with one extra hardpoint. People are acting like it’s a brand new ship that has never been weaponed.

Are there any consequences to wiping your account? Is there some sort of cool down period? If not I can imagine the following scenario..

- Ganker buys a second account
- Ganker buys the Gank Boat for that account
- Ganker enjoys consequence-free ganking until their Gank Boat explodes
- Ganker has a lot of debts to pay, but not to worry, just do a wipe
- Ganker now has a clean account and still retains his Gank Boat
