Modes Bonus for doing CGs in Open

I would like to see more benefits to playing in Open, perhaps a “bonus” ...
encourage and reward Open play.

And yet, here a hundred times I've read NOBODY wants ANYTHING but Powerplay to be deleted from Solo/Co-Op players...
We'd never dream of tightening the screws on them still further with repeated call for to remove PMFs/BGS/CGs etc etc...

Obviously when I've stated that the paradigm shift between "Equally Valid Modes" and "Frontier Favoured Modes" (Those that still have access to the full feature set, those that Frontier spend significant time developing "Mode-Only" content for, those that Frontier openly states it wants Players in) would be the thin end of the wedge...a first step towards ever more draconian moves to side-line Solo/Co-Op play I've been shouted down as a hysterical, paranoid doom-monger...

Now which is it again???

No matter how much this evil "they" tightens the screws, it's still ultimately Frontier's game, and Frontier is still ultimately the ones that will make any changes. If stuff gets changed in a way you dislike, it's because the dreaded "they" forced Frontier's hand- it's simply because Frontier decided that's the way they wanted to go. No matter how much a given group of players scream about one thing or another, it's still ultimately Frontier that decides to listen to them or not.

That's quite true, but it's even more ultimately each player's choice to decide whether to continue to play the game when FD changes it.

Therefore; Ultimately Frontier will pay the price if they choose unwisely....

I would like to see more benefits to playing in Open, perhaps a “bonus” for certain interactions like CGs and trading.

Not sure how you could implement that in a way that can’t be exploited by mode switching.

It shouldn’t have a negative effect on Solo, only encourage and reward Open play.
The bonus you get is you get to see random other CMDRs in the CGs. Plus the thrill of the chase and all that jazz.

Have fun! :)

A call for a bonus for playing in open?
I didn't see that coming.
The open only agenda is getting louder.

This is a bonus how?
Just as in real-life I wouldn't choose to go for a drink with some random off the street...why would I in my "virtual space" choose to interact with somebody I don't know from adam...
There's a pool of people freely available for me to interact with...already curated so I know I actively want to interact with them...they're called Squadron-Mates and online Friends...
Whoever RNJesus throws my way...not so much!

I imagine players who play in Open like that sort of thing. I do too on occasion.

For you the bonus of Private Groups is you don't see random CMDRs if you don't feel like it. Same for me.

Everyone gets a bonus\o/ It's tri-winning. The modes are brilliant.

No...

Just create perodic CGs in OPEN only.... This would be a natural re-use of the proposed PP changes to keep track of items entering other modes and thus nullifying them. IDEALLY lets also move CG gameplay forwards abit after three years for some more involved CGs across the board!

Sure.

Dear god, throw some brain.

The positives - only interact with who I want...the negative Frontier starts incrementally deleting Gameplay elements from me in an effort to leverage me out of co-op mode and into Open...
I'm not sure that's a "bonus" - I'm not EVEN sure its a break-even...

It certainly doesn't negate the fact that HALF the playerbase bought a game they thought they'd be able to enjoy as single players or in co-op multiplayer...and Frontier taking the near unprecedented step of deleting a substantial gameplay pillar from them in an effort to "enforce" their chosen play mode on the player base as a whole...

Then dont go to Open. Why do some people have so much trouble understanding different people like different things? Dont like the added challenge and risk? Cool, do the CG in solo/PG!

Why don't we just race to the bottom and eliminate the ability to earn credits in Solo and PG all together?

That should work

This. I dont care if someone grinds their cgs in solo/pg. Only increases the odds for the cg reaching a higher tier. And as noobe really wants to see a cg fail, not even the 'griefers', there are no losers. This is even clearer when the pvp folk get powerplay open-only, so any 'but I cant oppose cg players in solo!' rhetoric can be dismissed as 'cgs arent pvp opposition features, try pp if you want that'.

Besides, its clear FD 100% supports keeping cgs in all modes, so its all just forum-stuff. :)

Why do some people have so much trouble understanding different people like different things?

I'd respectfully suggest that I have NO Issues with people doing different things/enjoying different game modes...

I'd NEVER lobby the developer to remove substantial Gameplay elements from Open mode (all modes being equal is fine by me)
I'd NEVER suggest that one mode is superior to the other ("safe mode" "carebears" etc etc) that would be daft...I play in all 3 modes depending on circumstance
I'd NEVER start or Comment on Forum threads suggesting the developer remove/hamstring even MORE gameplay elements from open mode...as i believe that regardless of mode you should have equal access to all gameplay elements

In reference to your comment I have NO Trouble understanding the concept of three equal modes...The Question is DOES EVERYBODY??? (such as the OP suggesting boosting open rewards/penalising solo/co-op rewards)

Not everyone shares your thoughts on the matter though. That doesn't mean you are correct or they are. It's just a difference in opinion, that is all

'cgs arent pvp opposition features, try pp if you want that'

To be fair Powerplay isn't really a PvP opposition feature either...
Unless you genuinely believe the outcome of Economic/Political/Insurgency conflict (short of open war) between galactic powers controlling hundreds of worlds, with populations of trillions and with an essentially limitless economy SHOULD be determined by a few dozen or so PvP'ers pew-pewing each other!!!!
