A sloppery slip ?
What is this frictionless incline I'm standing on called again?![]()
That doesn't mean you are correct or they are. It's just a difference in opinion, that is all
Not everyone shares your thoughts on the matter though. That doesn't mean you are correct or they are. It's just a difference in opinion, that is all
Besides, its clear FD 100% supports keeping cgs in all modes, so its all just forum-stuff.![]()
It used to be clear that all modes would be equal...
Your opinion is valid - as long as you ignore the original terms under which the game was marketed and sold
Oh boy, the PC police gonna come for you
Is there any game out there completely lacking of this method?
Not only CG's should get a benefit from be played in "open". In fact EVERY task one accomplishes in "open" should be rewarded more, than the same task in every other mode. Why?
RISK & REWARD
And No! THIS does NOT touch the dogma of: "All Modes Are Equal"
Why? Simple! You STILL can do ANYTHING you want in "solo" that you can do in "open", but for less reward.
Almost every game-concept relies on "risk & reward". Is there any game out there completely lacking of this method? I doubt it.
Falcon 4 BMS, DCS, IL2, Cliiffs of Dover, Silent Hunter 3 & 4, Steel Beasts Pro, Hearts of Iron 4, Flashpoint Campaigns..
That's JUST looking left to right along the shelf above my computer...
You have hundreds of pages of people explaining it to you, plus very simple explanations by FD. If you still dont get it thats on you. Feel free to be outraged about it, noone can take that from you.![]()
Paying people more to to the same boring things because they're next to a real person sometimes is not RISK/REWARD. It's cheap and misplaced compensation that quickly goes as stale as the CG mechanics themselves. CGs need better gameplay to make them better.
You are not more special than a Solo or PG player, or a mixed-mode player that everyone seems to forget even exist. You are not categorically braver because you want to game with people you don't know 100% of the time. The modeswitch talk going on for OOPP is relevant to making PP not a dead and gangrenous feature. It isn't to make Open-only players the elite of Elite because at the end of the day, we are pretending to be spacemen in a video game and everyone needs better gameloops. This is the start of looking for better gameloops, not even MORE discrimination between playstyles.
We need more variety and difference in the modes and their gameplay, because True Mode Equality is not true at all, but just adding more credits for fake bravery ain't nearly the way we need to go about it.
Signed, an Open-Only Player
Okay...i know only 2 of these games, but Silent Hunter? Are you serious? So u can atteck a convoy without risk getting caught by the escort? C'Mon.
Falcon 4: Really? you will be in no risk bombing an enemy base and there is not a single AAA that tries to pick you off the skies?
But I take risks that "solo"- players will never experience
So your POINT is, players who fly around in Combat Vessels engineered up to the EYEBALLS should get less reward for shooting down a WANTED ship, or completing a certain mission than another player would get when they're DOING the same job in an un-engineered non-combat VESSEL?Not only CG's should get a benefit from be played in "open". I never claimed tzo be "somone special" because I prefer "open". But I take risks that "solo"- players will never experience. Some examples:
Why should I play socccer, when the goals are not counted?
Why is there a higher payout to bet on the underdog of a competition? Horses / Formula 1 / Soccer
Why should I risk a highstakes Poker-Table when I would get the same payout with only a Dime-PayIn?
So your POINT is, players who fly around in Combat Vessels engineered up to the EYEBALLS should get less reward for shooting down a WANTED ship, or completing a certain mission than another player would get when they're DOING the same job in an un-engineered non-combat VESSEL?

You need to revisit what kind of game you're playing on a conceptual level.
Claiming that your risks are worth more compensation than another player assumes there's a direct competition with other players' status as part of the game. There is no such animal here. No leaderboards. No progression. No endgame. No prizes for being super awesome. No gold shotguns. There is only Pretend Spaceman until you donwanna anymoar.
You don't require extra compensation because you decided other players are fine in your Pretend Spaceman and someone else didn't. If someone's in Solo because their connection is garbage, shouldn't they get a bonus for hardship? Their hardship is worse than yours because they can't play in Open even if they wanted to; their selection is forever limited by their location and ISP, and outside of moving they have literally no other choice.
