Bored of the game already

The problem is real life isn't this boring at all. Real life has stuff going on, I can interact with it. People are asking for features (that are coming..) that make it more realistic and like real life, and a bunch of people are like nah.. space is gonna be more boring i love it! Maybe it's your perspective that's skewed. If you didn't plan on playing this game any deeper than a walking simulator of course your satisfied.
Space isn't boring though, it least to many CMDRs here. And pretending to be flying around fighting, exploring, seeing the sights, docking, hunting bounties etc is awesome to me.

Your analogy of walking simulator for SuperCruise is quite apt I think. The brilliance of walking is the ease at which you can see the scenery around you: architecture, nature, landscapes, poeple going about their business/fun, etc. If you aren't interested in seeing any of those things (in ED they would be space & astro bodies, stations, CMDRs & AI going about their business/fun) then walking would be very boring for you. Sometimes while walking I'll read news on my phone if there's nothing interesting to see. I'll do the same on my 3rd screen during SuperCruises of longer than a few minutes :)

And once at my destination I'll do the awesome things I went there to do haha :)

I'm bored with supercruising around LHS 34447 for 20 minutes per stop and then having to wait another 20 for a parking space in open play, now the prize money competition makes complete sense because I really need a good reason to not go Solo. I'm guessing vast numbers of pilots have migrated to Solo due to the failings of Open play multi-player

I tried clearing my save 5 times until I realised they were lying about the "random" start location, all those billions of star systems and I "randomly" get allotted to the vastly boring LHS 34447 system EVERY TIME, how they have the nerve to call that random is beyond my jump range.

So I've sold the Eagle and am shipping out as I type... whomever "randomly" chose that system as a start system made a bad choice.

It may be better to make a competition for best mission ideas, storytelling, stations and ship designs. Or spend this money on creating some tools to allow community to create missions.

It shouldn't take that long to go station to station in that system (100KLs average distance), I was doing the same but now I average 6-7 minutes after reading these guides:

http://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDangerous/comments/2cqz9h/the_art_of_supercruising/
http://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDangerous/comments/2q3h6z/how_to_supercruise_faster_and_save_time/

And you can always pack things and move to a smaller system, there are a few good one near like Eravate o Yakabugai

Any doubt drop me a PM

The game is definitely lacking features, but it is impressive how long you can have fun doing basic things. Elite is a good game and I believe with the additions of group functionality and aliens it will be great. Those things just need to happen!

INDEED! :)

Procedure #1 - kill any ship

1. equip gimbaled multicannons and pulse lasers (or any mix of kinetic and thermal)
2. equip 2x shield banks
3. throttle to ~ -20 after approached ship
4. keep spamming
5. get money

Procedure #1.1 - kill anaconda

1. use formula #1
2. target power plant subsystem

Procedure #2 - unlimited money

1. user formula #1
2. find system with at least two stations close to nav beacon, and with different allegiance
3. jump to nav beacon
4. kill all wanted (best scan it with k-warrant)
5. jump out nav beacon
6. goto: 3
7. when you are out of ammo go to redeem claims and reload.

Procedure #3 - travel

1. use your ship
2. sell all subsystems
3. buy best FSD, power plant and power distributor
4. buy fuel scoop
5. you can go anywhere fast and for free
6. buy your stuff again when you reach destination

procedure #2 gives you 250kk per hour, when you are lucky ~1kk per hour (mostly from pythons and anacondas 40-100k rewards)

so it became arcade shooter instead of "space simulator", when it cames to economy it is same like a lot of flash games...

It is not a game, but very solid backbone for game. My question is: where are informations about upcoming features? I can't find it.

Or how about:

1: Find goods cheap
2: Buy goods
3: Fly to where goods are expensive
4: Sell goods
5: goto 1

Can't actually think of any game with trading where that would not apply. Only gives you unlimited money if you are successful at it, and have the time to do it.

This procedure works from almost beginning of game, while to buy/sell you need a money already to have a big cargo space and goods, and a lot of time to travel and check all possibilities.

Am I doing something wrong?

I was enjoying the game and everything, but right after buying a cobra, it hit me that I'm just grinding over and over...
There really isn't much to do in the game other than trading, bounty hunting and exploration, which are really just doing the same thing over and over.
I've seen a few players in game on my radar, but that's it. No chat, no interaction at all.

Is the game really this shallow?
Please tell me what do you guys do to enjoy this game...

Yeah that what happens in the game that lacks content. After you play it for 2-3 weeks the hype wears off and you see how actually deep the rabbit whole goes, which right now it doesn't go anywhere at all tbh. Just there a little impression in the ground with basic gameplay features. Time for FD to start digging down and make the hole deeper... if you know what I mean :D.

Drinking is so boring lifting that beer glass taking a gulp over and over, so boring.

Running is so boring, same old thing.

Climbing just always the same old.

But perhaps if you enjoy doing whatever then all is well ?

Dunno, whats wrong with certain people, if i dont like a game or get burn out playing to much. I shelve the game, or come back later...simples

Why people have to start threads about "how bored they are etc" i just cant comprend.
Then you get the Trolls, the so called players who post in most of the negative threads, with there negative biased attitude. Just check out certain commanders threads and look at all there whine posts or replys!

If you dont like the game..fine walk away!! get a life and stop making negative posts, and negative replys...its very tedious and petty.

Brilliant! +1

Not really, think about it like about partnership, you love your wife, but something is wrong. You are not going to change a wife, you are trying to fix your relationship because you love her.

Some commanders loves this game, but they are at point when this love need something more. Such topics are "crying for help".

:)

( I am bored too after 3 days of playing and starting to spam forum :p )

I do find myself wishing that there are some additional dymanics in the game, but I still enjoy it greatly, and am looking forward to new features.. I look forward to interdictions personally, since I know a fight is coming. This may not be what everyone wants to do, but if I need to go to a station far off from the jump point for a mission, say, I go to SC, and read the paper (literally) while I commute.

I am still waiting for the game to download but it kind of worries me that any mentions of the game lacking things to do or content appear to generate "use your imagination" comments. I paid a game developer money to provide food for my imagination, not to stick it in a sandpit with a spade and bucket and say "Make as many bucket castles as you want! What do you mean you want to make other things than bucket castles?!? Errr... just make a bucket castle and pretend that it's something else."

Well players managed to start a civil war so if you run short of things to do, you can always look here

Or start one yourself
I think that's the jist of the 'use your imagination' threads, not sure though

Hmmm... interesting... despite the lack of focus on social features that I have seen noted, that does sound pretty intriguing. Will it actually have an effect on the sector and the universe? Or will things just potter along as normal after they're done raising hell?

Yeah i agree with OP.

Games really boring i cant really find an excuse to play it anymore, i find it about as much fun as playing Fronteir Elite on the amiga, which if you want to be honest is really boring here in 2014-2015.

Seems like just a Giant lifeless universe where you accept drab missions to buy a better ship to accept more drab missions. Maybe it will get better if they add walking around stations or whatever but right now im not very impressed, other then the graphics have improved on the original game. Game is about as imersive as universe sandbox. As far as using your imagination thats a great plan if your in 1985 on a commodore but i think my computer is capable of leaving little to the imagination here in 2015 which is better. I can stare at a wall and use my imagination. It really is better not to have to use your imagination in a computer game too much unless of course you have 22K and live in 1985.

great this is a remake and all but really the game-play doesn't seem much more fun then if this was the original, original was a good game because it had an excuse it was limited by technology. This is just a prettier game with the same gameplay, not much more depth.

Well at least i still have hope for star citizen.

Yeah player actions reflect on the rest of the galaxy, the empire and federation will respond to similar situations

BTW 'wings' (the grouping framework) it's scheduled for jan-feb
