Yes, I believe you are talking about something else. That's not the title.Um…that’s the Reddit link title? I’ve read the thread?

What?!(Visible confusion)

So…are you talking about this thread title but discussing the visible stars from the Reddit thread?
I believe we are finally getting there...Yes, it’s an artistic choice; I believe I mentioned it in post #46 of this thread.
The question asked by the Reddit thread was if there are any visibly thick atmospheres like in the trailer, you know, without any stars showing through, making them look all tenuous.
The answer is “no, there aren’t” because it was changed prior to launch.
Yes - and one certainly looks thicker than the other. The atmospheres are just as thick as shown in the trailer, the only difference is that one shows stars and the other not.
Mmmm...I'm not entirely sure that's true. The atmospheres have definitely been thinned out/toned down compared to the promotional images.I believe we are finally getting there...
But that's not because there are 'no thick atmospheres' like in the trailer but simply because they decided to display stars! This is my whole point.

Absolutely.Yes - and one certainly looks thicker than the other.
I’m glad we understand that having no visible stars in the day sky makes it look thicker than it may actually be.
Nah, I don't believe it. It's more likely related to the problems you (and OP) described below:Mmmm...I'm not entirely sure that's true. The atmospheres have definitely been thinned out/toned down compared to the promotional images.
100% agreed. This was what we were promised:

And this is what we got:

So, while there is some atmospheric effect happening at far distances, we still have the following issues:
To my knowledge, FDev have not acknowledged either of these issues.
- Atmospheric shading is barely noticeable, certainly compared to what was promoted. Was it an artistic choice to tone it down? If so, where did FDev explicitly say that?
- Star colour does not work at all on atmospheric planets - it's always flat white, no matter the actual star colour. Specifically, it means the red sunset shown in the 2nd promotional image from FDev is not possible to achieve in the released version of the game.
I have done my part.We also need more people to vote for this issue if we want to bring it into the monthly issue report.
I explained it above. You’re not even reading what I’m writing at this point. Arguing just to argue without thinking. I’m done with the discussion, have a nice dayWhat exactly is different apart from the stars?
As you say, you’re just guessing. My guess (if I haven't already commented!) is that the correctly-coloured light was doing funny things to the look of the interiors of ports/settlements and with a choice between reworking the lighting or just turning it off, this was the easy, "we're releasing it tomorrow!", solution.
Or something like that. Or maybe not.
I provided screenshots, made a photoshop mock up and tried to explain my point several times. I wouldn't call that 'not thinking'. It's more likely that you simply don't understand what I am saying, which isn't necessarily your fault since English isn't my first language.I explained it above.
