The last 2kly are really frustrating now. Routes now continue to plot, even if you exit the galaxy map. Plotting a broken route with 1 frame per second isn't really all that fun, Frontier!

As soon as Drakhyr stops enabling my laziness, I promise I'll get back to work. You know, sometime...
Don't exit the Galmap.
Any time the plot takes more than 10s, pick another star that's a different distance away (be patient with the frame rate) and tell it to plot that instead, if it plots really, really quickly then that is your magic number.
Esvandiary's thread somewhere on these forums helps you to calculate your magic number, the exact answer that his algorithm might still be slow plotting, but it will be very close, so just check 1-2 LY either side of that distance.
I'm not sure of the link to the thread, but just Google for Esvandiary core plotting and Google will show you the way.
Since I cannot possibly let my friends Serraphix and Chance- beat me at something, I'm submitting my intent to raceFair warning, I do plan on departing in less than 24 hours.

Of course, I have goals.

Alrighty, I'm finally there... AND I'm not dead from overheat? yet..

First time making a run longer than 150LY; should be fun, but I want that bumper sticker.
Might be a couple weekends before I get the chance. I plan to take a nice camping trip on Earth before I head out.
Although since it's now 126 pages long, you might need a new mouse afterwards.I would definitely recommend taking a scroll through this thread to see all of the great advice people have delegated to others.
Oh wow. I may take it upon myself to compile an advice list for our new explorers.Although since it's now 126 pages long, you might need a new mouse afterwards.![]()

After lots of crashes and a bit of rage from Serra, accompanied by having to go to work, I've finally made it. Serra and I will have some selfies once he wakes up

Edit: Noticed I'm first Diamondback Explorer. Woot!
You could wait until BB-8, depending on the race style Haulers might be really competitive.
I've got one minor question for Rankaze and FoxTwo regarding PP (sorry Z, I think this bit is kind of Buckyball related though) :
Were you playing in open or solo? I know that FoxTwo normally plays solo and I also know that there's a lot more NPCs spawned in open.
I don't think PP should affect the organisation of Buckyballs at all, it's up to each runner if/who they pledge to. I'm staying independent for the moment, but I am interested to see what effect it has on competitors in the next race.
I'm really glad they tweaked the collision fines.
