I beg to differ. Just need to use the right ones.

I have no clue what the PvP landscape looks like on PC but me thinks you're over exaggerating quite a bit.Indeed he was. But Ryan made the choice to post the video when he could have refrained. Ryan could probably obliterate, in just a stock Hauler, most of we Commanders playing ED. I just feel perhaps, that it would have been more noble to not post the video. Maybe I should have kept my mouth shut, but I am tired of seeing PvP bashed for the wrong reasons.
It seems to me that the reputation of PVP being a gankfest is only furthered by videos of ships being blown up. Non PvPers desperately need to learn that PvP is an art form and not just blowing up ships and chasing the latest meta.

Man this forum is a dumpster fire. Always boils down to PvPers spouting paragraphs of drivel, thinking they're subject matter experts.Man this forum is a dumpster fire. Always boils down to non-PvPers spouting paragraphs of drivel, thinking they're subject matter experts.

Don't forget he's also extremely awesome so a lot of what we say doesn't matter.Man this forum is a dumpster fire. Always boils down to non-PvPers spouting paragraphs of drivel, thinking they're subject matter experts.
OP also says people are completely free to blaze whatever trail they want, but also says that anyone who ganks in a sandbox game can't also be a valid PvPer. Reality is that it's the only PvP content after a certain point.
Pvpers being experts on PvP? Uh yeah, duh.Man this forum is a dumpster fire. Always boils down to PvPers spouting paragraphs of drivel, thinking they're subject matter experts.
If they say "the pen is mightier then the sword" do they mean superpenetrator rails?Words less effective than plasma confirmed.

They are, because all they do is PvP. Duh.
Sean Connery has the answer you seek Cmdr.
No, they're not. FD are experts. You're just rabbits they experiment on.
Have you ever seen FDev do combat in this game? FDev are not experts. I'm not sure there's a staff member at FDev that could beat even a mid-tier PvPer.
I have done my utmost to take every player that I come across, that has a positive attitude, under my wing and teach them all I can about PvP and I know most other pvpers do the same. The problem with this forum is that this is where most of the bad apples, players with bad attitudes and players that take an in-game death too seriously, come to cry and complain.Yeah, you are right. But PvP is so cool and so much more than just blowing up ships. There must be some way to inform the misinformed? Unfortunately, the reality is, is that the misinformed are here in Forums, not GCI or the PvP Hub.
Personally I think the OP would be the absolute worst person to organize anything PvP related because of his attitude towards "bad guy" pvpers and the fact that he probably has half of the PvP community on his block list.FWIW, if anyone cares, not everyone wants to be a master PvPer. I love playing Overwatch, but I have no interest in joining a professional league, as that's too intense for me. It's similar to a bunch of old guys playing hoops - we're just having fun, not auditioning for the Harlem Globetrotters. Same goes for ED PvP. That's where OP might have something to offer folks like me.
Now I understand ED is currently a game where we're all mixed in together, and this is why I don't complain about personally getting ganked / griefed anymore (happened today, cost me a bit, but I thought "Okay, that's cool."), but I really have not interest in "gitting gud" enough to fight back. As I said before, I'm the Forrest Gump PvPer. However, I do enjoy casual combat, meaning modest ships with modest engineering in equal-sized teams. This perhaps is what the OP offers, albeit in a flamboyant way, and I support his efforts.

But on Xbox, CKnarf puts together an event called H.A.A.A.N.D.S. every Thursday evening, where players come together with unengineered, small ships for a night of PvP in equal ships. And at H.A.A.A.N.D.S. EVERYONE IS WELCOME instead of just certain players with a certain play style.
Unfortunately you're on PS4 IIRC, but I'm sure someone could put something similar together if there was enough support for it and the right person to organize it.
Even though I am one of those that enjoys engineering, I can see that it is mostly to blame for the lack of players interested in PvP.Hear, hear. Although Gaarp's ideas may not be feasible or even reasonable for that matter, he made an effort. An action. He tried.
PVP is not dead. It may be at a minimum, but not dead. If it was so great prior to 2.1 or whatever, why not try to recreate as many of those mechanisms that we can? It won't be perfect, but I am sure it would be far more balanced than what we now have in *** engineers.
